Not quite what I was expecting!
We contracted with Leaf Home Water Solutions to install a whole-house water filtration system. I assumed Leaf had its own installers who performed the work, but I was wrong. That is when we met Fernando, the owner/operator of SM Handyman Services out of the Charlotte, NC area.
My first impression of Fernando was good. He seemed organized, explained what he was going to do, and got right to work. Once he finished, the job looked good.
About a week later, I crawled into the crawl space just to take a closer look. I'm glad I took the time. I discovered a small leak at the connection fitting where he had spliced into the main water line. I also found that the water line going to our master bathroom had been completely missed. So, our "whole-house" filtration system wasn't actually filtering the whole house.
This is where the customer service issues began.
After numerous attempts to contact Leaf Home Water Solutions, they finally responded and sent Fernando back to repair the leak. The leak was addressed, but nothing was done about the master bathroom connection.
In all fairness, I honestly don't know where the majority of the blame lies—with Leaf Home Water Solutions or Fernando and SM Handyman Services. What I do know is that both companies were paid, and afterward, it felt as though I had simply been written off.
I have reached out to both Fernando and Leaf Home Water Solutions regarding the unresolved issue and have received no response. That is why I am leaving this review.
Fernando's work looked good at first glance, but once I looked closer, I found problems. Regardless of who is ultimately responsible, the customer service from both Leaf Home Water Solutions and SM Handyman Services has left this paying customer hanging out to dry.
