Review: Avoid This App – Total Refund Nightmare
I am beyond frustrated. Out of 27 books I selected, only two were actually available. When I tried to get a refund after one month, I was trapped in a "vicious circle" of over 102 AI-generated emails. Despite providing my email, bill, and invoice number through their provider, LINK, the AI just repeatedly asks the same questions.

It seems they don’t even have the books; they make you wait while they "transcribe" them, which feels like waiting for an illegal download to surface. This is the first time I’ve ever requested an app refund, and they make it impossible. Save your money and stay away.

Sobrief was honest. They refunded my money as I forgot about cancelling my automatic subscription renewal.

They don’t summarize anything. It’s like they skimmed the back cover, guessed the rest, and called it a day. Every summary feels shallow, and completely missing the actual ideas of the book. Zero depth, zero nuance, zero usefulness , and the service is relatively expensive for what they have to offer

The platform is great, had a problem with getting the yearly subscription refund but the team sorted it out.

The analysis is just not worth it. They're ruining the book by putting it into a few bullet points. And the characters! They're just writing a short list and pretending everyone else doesn't exist! And they're profiting off of author's books without paying anything!

This company is profiting from the works of authors without having to pay them anything. And even worse, they are putting out a summary of the book that doesn't do the book justice, which can turn off readers who may have initially been interested in purchasing the book. And they won't respond to requests from authors to take their books down. Terrible business model that hurts authors rather than helping them.

I did the free trial and just upgraded to the lifetime pass. I am a lifelong learner and this is a great way to hear the key points of books and then add some to my reading queue.

That was cool

I cancelled my subscription through Apple, but Sobrief still charged my card. I haven’t been able to reach customer service, and there’s no way to contact anyone to cancel my subscription. This is extremely frustrating and feels like a complete rip-off. I strongly advise others not to use this app.
