South Yorkshire Windows Limited Reviews 

Our experience with South Yorkshire Windows has been horrendous. After more than nine months, 12 visits, and repeated failed attempts to resolve defects, we paid £958.80 for an independent inspection. The resulting 122-page RISA report concluded that the installation was not satisfactory overall, identifying serious problems across our home:

Sliding patio doors (Safety hazard): Our two large sliding glass patio doors do not meet the wind-load requirements for their location. They can be pulled out of position by hand, creating a risk of heavy glass panels falling and crushing someone. The inspector advised restricting their use, and South Yorkshire Windows confirmed in writing that normal use must remain restricted.

Rear-bedroom windows (Fire hazard): The replacement windows present a serious fire-escape hazard, with an opening of approximately 390 mm in the relevant dimension. We could get through the previous windows, but neither of us can fit through the replacements, meaning we cannot use them to escape in a fire. Despite repeatedly raising this, South Yorkshire Windows has not addressed it at all.

Ventilation deficiencies: The inspection identified ventilation failures relating to Building Regulations Part F, which sets requirements for adequate ventilation and helps prevent condensation, damp and mould. Other defects affect weatherproofing and workmanship across multiple windows and composite doors. These are not minor cosmetic snags.

Guarantees & Paperwork Discrepancies:

We were sold Comp Door composite doors expecting a 10-year guarantee. Comp Door subsequently confirmed to us that electronic components have only 12 months' cover and hardware six years. These limitations were never explained when purchasing. More seriously, we have never been supplied with the correct insurance-backed guarantee paperwork. If South Yorkshire Windows ceased trading, we have no documentation establishing that we could claim against the protection we were promised. We have also identified discrepancies between the product specifications sold to us and what was supplied.

Complaints Handling:

Our formal complaint has continued for over 10 weeks without an acceptable resolution. It took more than nine weeks just to obtain the company's complaints procedure. Despite repeated requests, South Yorkshire Windows has not supplied a named certified ADR provider or a clear, workable independent dispute-resolution route, instead directing us to ASSURE. We have found the company's engagement evasive and incomplete.

We trusted this company and allowed numerous opportunities to put things right. Instead, we have been left with unsafe doors, bedroom escape openings we cannot use in a fire, ventilation defects, missing guarantee paperwork, significant personal expense and considerable stress.

Based on our experience, I would never use South Yorkshire Windows again or recommend them to anyone. Existing customers should check their written guarantees, insurance-backed protection, installation certificates and product specifications very carefully.

First class service from start to finish. Prompt response to enquiry and three stage process explained fully. Custom fitted traditional half glass panelled back door has just been installed - a straightforward, tidy job. Highly recommend.

Just had new windows, patio and door completed by South Yorkshire Windows and cannot fault them at all. From start to finish, great service- from fitting me in for a weekend fit due to my job and the fitters working tirelessly to complete the job and ensure it was a great standard of fit; ensuring it was fully tidy afterwards! We had a new front door and bay window installed, The whole process of getting a quote to doing the measurements and installation was done in a very professional and efficient manner with no mess whatsoever and took the old windows and doors away. I would recommend them from my experience.

Great quality work and great service provided when we had all our salon windows and door changed. The staff are all really polite and helpful when you are dealing with them. Everything was finished to a high standard and we are very happy with the finished result. I would highly recommend this company when anyone is looking for new windows and doors, I wouldn’t use anyone else.

Decided to have South Yorkshire Windows replace all the doors, windows frames on the house after a good referral and an acceptable quote. Early morning on the 7th May, Baz, Mocca and Taylor turned up and started the work. After working in the building trade myself for many years, I can say without a doubt that it was a shear pleasure to see such an experienced professional team work in unison together like this team, Baz and Mocca were obviously the more experienced in the team but Taylor like the rest never stopped. The work was exceptionally clean, no mess whatsoever – by 11:00 am practically all old windows doors and frames were out and replaced, in fact the old windows doors/frames were taken away by another employee of the company, around 5:00 pm all work was completed, aside from the bathroom window glass which could not be fitted due to being the wrong size, Baz assured us that once the glass was delivered it would be a 5 minute job to be fitted. True to his word the glass was fitted a couple of days later by Adam, another clean, efficient member of the company. In summary, the whole experience in my opinion was effortless, it was a joy to see such a clean professional team of dedicated workmen, work in complete unison together like that, whose primary motivation was customer satisfaction. I can say without reservation, that I would highly recommend South Yorkshire Windows, especially an experienced team like Baz, Mocca, Taylor and not forget Adam …..Outstanding from start to finish.

From the sales man to the fitters where all very friendly and helpful .i was promised the windows would be fitted for the twenty eight of April and they was good as there word .the windows look great.i would recommend them .
