• Open the App Store (iPhone) or Google Play Store (Android).
• Search for “Square POS” or “Square Point of Sale”.
• Tap Install / Get.
If you don’t see the app at all, your phone may not be compatible with the latest version. In that case, you can check our device requirements here:

Importing your items from your website won’t take up a lot of space on your phone. Your item library is stored securely in Square’s servers and just synced to the app. It might use a bit of space for the app and cached data (like item names and images), but it shouldn’t noticeably affect your phone’s storage.

CANADIANS, don't waste your time. I wasted 30 minutes registering (address & identity validation, email validation, phone number validation, bank account info, etc) BECAUSE of their website promise of a FREE card reader. THAT IS A LIE. Despite being promised on MULTIPLE webpages that "Your first reader is on us" up to and including Checkout ("You are eligible for a free reader.") that is NOT available to Canadians. Much MUCH better AND easier to just go with CashApp or eTransfers.

I wasn’t able to find a Square account under the email you mentioned, which makes me think there may be multiple accounts in play. Eligibility for promotions like the free reader can depend on the specific account and region, so I’d love to take a closer look at what happened and the messaging you saw. If you’re open to it, please reach out to us directly with your full name, the email(s) you may have used to sign up, and a screenshot of the “free reader” message you received so we can review your account(s), clarify eligibility, and make this right where we can.

We are a small business just starting out. Heard about Square and thought it was a good option of receiving payment over the bank. After a year I can say that it’s probably cost us as much. I would suggest that smaller companies could get a reduced fee if sales are under a certain amount. We are keeping our head above water but lower fees would help.
