I contacted starlight tutors when my son was struggling with gcse preparation, Hijaab and her team of tutors were fantastic in identifying what he needed and put together a timetable to prepare him for his exams, he’s only completed his first two exams but the difference in his confidence is incredible, he commented on his first English exam that without tutoring it would have been a disaster.

A very reliable and effective tuition service that supports tutors and students alike.

I can’t recommend Hijaab enough as a maths tutor. She explains concepts in a way that is clear and easy to understand, which is the type of personalised teaching you just don’t get in a classroom. I joined her after doing quite bad in my further maths GCSE mock and my grades since then have notably improved. I’m now taking Maths A level and I can honestly say that my grade is a true testament to her teaching and I wouldn’t have got there without her help! I would recommend her to anyone who wants an effective tutor who will take the time to explain and break down key concepts until you understand it fully.

Ms Hijab is a great tutor and has been of great help in improving my Maths skills over the last year. She is deeply invested in her students' work and success, with each of her lessons being made enjoyable and fun too, as a result of her positive and uplifting attitude.

Ms Hijaab was my tutor for A Level Economics, and she has been so incredibly helpful and supportive! All our lessons were personalised to my needs, Ms Hijaab was patient and determined to get me through my weakest topics with a lot of confidence and ease. After each lesson I would become more and more comfortable answering complex exam questions, and that was just what i needed! She is attentive and always open to hearing your thoughts, as well as that she has been so accommodating and dedicated in her teaching, I have never had to worry about content once I started taking lessons from her. She follows a very structured approach to both content and answering exam-style questions, setting attainable goals based on her student's ability, which allows for efficient learning. As an A level student I was always busy dealing with the workload and found it difficult to manage my revision for Economics, but Ms Hijab's lessons helped me break down all the harder topics in a way that didn't take up too much of my time, which essentially built my time-management skills over time, which has helped me with so many subjects too. Overall I'd highly recommend Ms Hijaab, her work ethic and organised approach enable you to thrive in your subjects :)

I have the pleasure of attending the University of Cambridge reading history as a result of Hijaab’s excellent experience in tutoring. I was receiving unsatisfactory grades in economics, and from my worst subject it became my most successful.

Without her support I would not be where I am today, punting on the river cam! Despite not choosing to study economics, I have developed a deep interest in the subject stemming from her methods of teaching and the passion she has for economics.

First Class Tuition

There are so many tutors that parents are spoilt for choice. However, what we experienced with Hijaab was quite remarkable.

The college our daughter attended had changed tutors for Economics. They advised that a large part of the syllabus was not covered and all the student's grades were slipping. She was now in her final year for her A-levels so we desperately needed help as she had to get A's for her course at University, and her mock exam was not so good - she got a C.

Hijaab gave her intensive tutorials twice a week and made sure she covered the full syllabus. She spent time understanding our daughter and analysing the best way to teach her.

After every session she sent me a report that explained her weaknesses and strengths. The fact is, it is very hard for a parent to tell their teenage what to do! I had to sit in the back seat and watch Hijaab weave her magic. It was amazing.

Our daughter started to open up to us and said how she had learnt topics that she struggled with at college. She even started to talk abut it over dinner!

What I realised is that not only does Hijaab have the knowledge, but she has an incredible ability to relate to teenagers and help them absorb the intricate details of the topic.

I am so proud to say that our daughter got an 'A' for economics. It was the biggest thrill for us all because she got into Exeter to study Law.
