Absolutely terrible, dont even bother ordering!

Placed an order, only 11 items out of 41 delivered!
Customer service is absolutely terrible!!
I wouldn't even class it as customer service.
Numerous Days after delivery company sent 2nd parcel back to approved foods due to approved foods apparently not labelling correctly .
Items still not received, nor any refund or correspondence about this.
Absolutely disgusted.
Now have lost financially and dont have any of the products i was hoping on for a party.
Advice--- dont use approved foods, far better sites out there with far better customer service.

Charge you £2.50 to cancel an order that hasn't even been picked or packed yet. I did complain and managed to get the cancellation fee back which is why I will give them 3 stars instead of the 1 I was originally going with (their support is at least compromising/understanding).

But I have never seen a site charge to cancel an order before it had started to be processed before (I cancelled literally minutes after placing order when realised I had made a mistake) so can't take this company seriously.

The products also seem quite expensive considering the majority of them are already past their sell by date.

I have been a customer for many years, and have often resolved not to waste my time with it again. But although the website is clunky, I couldn't resist the allure after getting an email from them. I was just about to check out this morning, having spent more time than it was worth trying to fill my basket. First of all, the price of some items I'd added yesterday increased. I get that - it was yesterday's deal. But then two of the items in my basket were suddenly sold out, despite a promise on the website, with a timer, that goods will be held while you are actively shopping. I wasted good time tracking these items down to fill my basket, then suddenly they were taken away from me??? Sorry Approved Food, I'm over you (again)!

Apparently there is no costumer service - I’ve sent emails / messages / Facebook messages and tried calling and nothing - no one home it seems to give me a refund on orders I’ve waited a week for

I ordered from Approved Food when they first opened, and quality and service was always there.

I dropped off ordering for a long time, but placed an order recently.

I ordered some make up, and on opening the box, the foundation had heavily leaked in the box, with some items in poly bags, others not. What was clear was the items had been used as there was no seal on many and looked used. Same applied to the lipsticks, the container was sticky with smeared lipstick, a few had hairs stuck to the containers, and again they had clearly had been used. I even had an Amazon sticker on some of the items, which made me feel it was a return from Amazon, and they had bought in used/returned stock. All items have been binned as they too disgusting to use.

I haven’t contacted customer service because after reading the reviews on here, there is no point, so a lesson to myself. This is the last time I will be ordering from them. Save your hard earned cash, it’s not worth it.

Slow dispatch and delivery. Items arrived damaged and 2 large crisp bags open with the contents all in the box and subsequently had to be thrown away. When I contacted customer services to inform them, it was a voicemail message ( leave your name , order number, contact details and issue and someone will get back to you within 24-48 hours - 7 days later no-one has got back to me. Would avoid this company like the plague.

Stetua didn't change, chased an told was out for delivery that day when it wasn't. Was told it was in transit another day it wasn't. They said they'd contact the currier and get back to me and didn't. Eventually after weeks they admitted it went missing couldn't deliver the items I ordered and id ger a refund in 30 days. Scam. I've since read they deliver items up to 4 years out of date?!

I've a few orders from approved food and have been aware of the best by dates, no issues at all, not until the last order. I ordered a value box, fortunately it was only £1.50, most of the contents were damage, one item was dated 2020 expiry. I decided to bin them due to health reasons, another item looked as though it had been used and obviously returned to Amazon, I received a credit for the item very promptly. I will continue to purchase but highly recommend not to purchase the bargin boxes, they are not worth the the money. Customer service is very good.

Have used this site for I number of years and only ever come across 1 packet of cakes which had actually gone past the use by date, not JUST there the best before date.
As the price of shopping has increased,so has my need to use these kind of sites, just so I'm able to feed my family of 5....we all have to live off my husband wage& my pip due to my disabilities.We need to create LESS waste in the country, &if that means paying less for food because its a little damaged or last its best before date, I'm fine with that.

Ordered some Ferrero Raffaello, both were delivered cut seal. One expired 2022 while other one only had 35 instead of 40. Was told they can't replace these even though the price increase

AVOID THIS JOKE OF A COMPANY. HOW THEY ARE STILL TRADING IS BEYOND ME. JUST LOOK AT THEIR REVIEWS. EVEN MOST OF THE SMALL PERCENTAGE OF POSITIVE FEEDBACK LOOKS SUSPICIOUSLY FAKE WITH THE DATES BEING SO CLOSE TOGETHER.
SO, WE HAD A NUMBER OF PROBLEMS WITH THE GOODS THEY SENT. MOST ARRIVED DAMAGED IN SOME WAY OR ANOTHER DUE TO POOR PACKAGING. BUT, EVEN WORSE, A NUMBER OF GOODS WERE MISREPRESENTED AND THERE WERE SOME OTHER OUT OF DATE GOODS THAT CAUSED STOMACH UPSETS AND DIARRHOEA, WHICH THEY REFUSED TO ACCEPT A RETURN FOR, AND TOLD ME I WOULD HAVE TO PAY TO RETURN THE OTHER GOODS!
I HAD TO OPEN A REFUND CLAIM WITH THE PAYMENT METHOD PAID TO GET MY MONEY BACK.
WHEN I TOLD DISAPPROVED FOOD I WANTED TO RETURN THE GOODS THAT WERE OFF AND CAUSED STOMACH UPSETS AND DIARRHOEA THIS WAS THEIR RESPONSE:

We have sold a substantial amount of this product and have had no other complaints regarding it, and it is highly unlikely that these products would cause the symptoms you are describing.

You can buy cheaper from shops. Rip off. Stuff well out of date. Will never use again.

Used to be good but now things are so far out of date it’s questionable as to their safety. It’s supposed to be near or just past sell by date but now it appears it doesn’t matter how old it is they’ll send it. Won’t bother again not even cheap half the stuff is cheaper in home bargains and their stuff is in date!

I ordered some out of date food from this company, assuming that it would be ok to eat. One of the items was 9 packets of love popcorn. On opening the first packet it smelt rancid and on tasting it, spat it out. It was disgusting and tasted of gone off cooking fat, absolutely inedible. U phoned the company and left a message with contact details and order number as requested. 4 days later and I am still waiting for a call back. I had also ordered a small container of salt. On opening the box, within a box, within a box all the salt was covering the entire contents, leaving me to wipe every item before putting it away. Not happy!!

Absolute rubbish company! My first order last week was for coffee pods, Kleenex tissues, diet Coke and an Advent Calendar. Order delivered today in a large cardboard box. I have no need for 18 out-of-date packets of Walkers hot chicken wings crisps and certainly will not be ordering from this company again. We are still laughing at this company's incompetance!!

First time ordering. Pros: some great bargains to be had. Great way to stock up on snack and 'junk' food. I only ordered items which were 'best before 2023' dates (although noticed some items were 2 years old!!!) incorrect dates given it seems!
Cons: Not sure why items are 'limited' to 2-4 per order, we are a family of 6 so doesn't work for us! Besides, the whole point is to off-load items which are due to go out of date, so why limit and hold on to for longer? Minimum order of £22.50 is way too much (i can do a proper grocery shop for this amount) plus you have to add postage which can bring this up close to £30. Postage is too much. Minimum spend should be reduced to £10 with free postage otherwise defeats the object. Found website difficult and clunky to navigate.

Not something I will be ordering regularly, maybe every now and then to top up on snacky stuff and when I can afford to spend a bulk amount of £25-£30.

Usually good service but lately items missing and my last order wrong item sent out. To be fair they refunded me straight away so good customer service but annoying when you've purchased something specific and get a totally different item. Delivery is quick and well packaged but would i use them again I'm not sure can't be doing with chasing up wrong items.

Three days of waiting in for my delivery. Each day I had a time slot which came and went again. No contact from Approved foods and tracking turned off on my delivery a minute past their latest due time. Never again there are far more reliable bargain food companies out there! I don’t have much hope of receiving my goods at all…

My second order with this company super cheap decent quality rapid dispatch and delivery time well packaged all round well happy would highly recommend to all who want to save a few quid

My order was processed quickly and arrived promptly. I think it isn't that much of a deal though. A lot of the food is not that cheap compared to retail. For example I paid £6.00 for four bottles of koppaberg dated last month. In asda its £6.90 for four. An extra 90p for assured quality. They were wrapped extremely carefully but the amount of bubble wrap was a bit wasteful. Environmental impact of food waste is largely my motivation for ordering.

They advertise as if you are saving massive amounts but I did not save £12 on products nearly a year out of date they do not hold retail value & cannot even be sold in traditional retail. Which feels dishonest.

For some reason my order came to £37.48 and my card was charged £40.48, too. Which I don't understand.
