Cancellation Nightmare, Misleading Branding and Ongoing Charges - SUNLY.AI
Avoid Sunly AI Chat Assistant, ai.mydeepchat.com and V*ai.mydeepchat.com. at all costs.
I am reviewing a lot of tools in this space. These are a dog's breakfast of products with terms of service (not to be found at the time - see attached Funnel Fox), some serious support challenges and a system that a pro would struggle with.
I cancelled three product subscriptions which included a learning library well before the latest payment was taken, yet the company continued charging my card and then made me fight through an unnecessarily complicated support process to stop future payments.
My experience raises serious concerns about how this business operates:
Multiple business, product and support names appear to be used across the service, making it difficult to determine exactly who is providing the product and processing payments.
Marketing and branding are confusing and potentially misleading.
Cancellation within the product appears ineffective or fails entirely.
No clear cancellation confirmation or correspondence was provided when cancellation was requested.
Support quality was poor, with repetitive responses and little evidence that previous correspondence was being reviewed.
Despite advising that the subscriptions had been cancelled, additional payments continued to be processed. The support correspondence itself acknowledges three subscriptions existed.
The cancellation process is deliberately convoluted and far harder than the sign-up process.
Responses appear highly automated, with no obvious escalation path to a competent human decision maker.
The overall support and service management process falls well below accepted industry standards.
What should have been a simple cancellation and refund became an exhausting chain of emails involving multiple agents, repeated explanations, and repeated requests for information already provided.
As an Australian consumer, I expect businesses operating in Australia or dealing with Australian consumers to comply with the Australian Consumer Law (ACL), including obligations relating to fair business practices, misleading or deceptive conduct, and consumer guarantees. Whether a refund is legally required depends on the specific circumstances, but businesses cannot simply rely on confusing cancellation processes or subscription traps to avoid their obligations.
I have requested refunds for all payments associated with these subscriptions and expect the matter to be resolved promptly.
My advice to potential customers: Read the terms carefully, document every cancellation request, keep screenshots of everything, and check your card statements closely.
There are plenty of AI products available today. Based on my experience, I would not trust this company with my payment details again.
Yes, they finally refunded me. That's worth a star.
