Lake Maggiore via the Gotthard Pass
All the travel arranged for us. Hotels all clean and within easy walking distance to the transport hubs. Staff at Tailor Made Rail all very helpful when we had questions regarding our trip. Would highly recommend.

A wonderful holiday experience with…
A wonderful holiday experience with Tailor Made Rail, our first train adventure but we had a great itinerary, fabulous hotels and excellent communication from this company.
We had an unexpected issue on a Friday night but an out of hours phone call was quickly and efficiently handled by Katie, problem dealt with and new route and tickets issued within half an hour. Thank you Katie.
We would very definitely use this company again and we are already recommending them to friends.

Austrian holiday
We had an other great holiday with Taylor Made Rail.We chose their Austrian itinerary and there was plenty to see and do in this beautiful country.
Everything ran smoothly apart from a couple of delayed trains on our home journey.Even the weather was great.
The only problem was the Nightjet train from Vienna to Brussels which was old and cramped, I would advise the Vienna to Amsterdam train instead as it it more spacious and modern.This was our mistake as we chose the Brussels train, nothing to do with TMR

Good service overall
It would have been useful to have a dedicated advisor for our trip. This happened previously and was extremely useful. Hotel Stefanie in Vienna and Hotel Bischofshof am Dom in Regensburg were very average- trading on their ‘traditional’ history but neither was truly welcoming… More positively, the other hotels were great and The Corinthia in Budapest is exceptional. First class rail and reservations worked well.

An amazing trip to Lake Como by train
The staff were very helpful when booking and adapting the itinerary. The train and boat connections were timed perfectly. All the hotels were very comfortable, with 4* facilities and in good locations. We had a really good holiday and are looking forward to booking our next trip.

Very well organised rail trip
Very well organised rail trip. Hotels well chosen for their location . Buses from Aix TGV to Aix centre non- existent , used taxi ,whereas shuttle train from Avignon TGV to Avignon centre very good .Room at Bristol hotel rather cramped needed upgrade .

A reliable and well informed rail booking service
We have used T.M.R on three occasions now and learned to value their knowledgeable team, pre-sales and support team.
They scored four stars plus on the 1st and 2nd occasion but only but only three this time, due to poor hotel selection.
Would we recommend them and use them again yes BUT want want a marked improvement in hotel selection ( particularly proximity to railway station & location in city).

Trip to Croatia. Genererything went well
Generally everything went well. The itinerary/timetable was excellent allowing us sufficient time between connections. Disappointed to have to print off our rail tickets. Your previous system of individual wallets for each day, including hotel vouchers, worked very well for us. The rail tickets were, naturally, printed in the language of the relevant country. It would have been helpful, especially where the Croation tickets were concerned, to have a brief translation of key elements, eg train number, seat and carriage number etc. Our transfer from Zagreb to Split was chaotic to put it mildly. There were no carriage numbers on the train so it was impossible to know where our seats were located. It was a very busy train and this added to the chaos. I found seat numbers eventually but they were not together! Also there was a seperate compartment with a number 1 on its sliding door which I assume was first class which I had asked for. This was a seven hour journey and there were NO facilities on the train, apart from toilets. There was no where to put our suitcases except in overhead racks and I am not a weight lifter! As experts in rail travel I would have expected you to provide me with a brief outlining the issues associated with this particular journey and any others if necessary. Being fore warned means there are fewer nasty surprises.
The hotels were excellent particularly in Zagreb and Dubrovnik. The hotel in Split was ok but 3 star at best. Had to have breakfast in the lobby one morning as the small dining room was full. Overall we were happy with the arrangements but felt that more detailed information as outlined above would have been helpful.

We have moved to PDF ticket packs which are a little more sustainable and which allow us a bit more flexibility with what to include. We can print this for you going forwards which is no problem. We have made a note of your preference.
