I purchased a printer through Takealotand in order to install the printer you need to fill the ink wells. After approximately 8 hours of trying to install the printer which would not even make a copy never mind print, I decided to return the printer. When the Takealot guy came to collect it, I still asked him to keep the box up straight.Two days later I received a message that the printer would not be replaced do to consumer damage after they had done an inspection of the printer. I find this unacceptable due to the following
1)the printer cannot be installed without adding the ink.
2) how do you expect the ink to be removed from the ink wells in order to return the printer.
3) there was no ink leakage when the driver picked up the printer.
4) the printer is back in my possession and the box has not even been opened, it is the same tape that I closed the box with so how could the printer have been examined.

WARNING WARNING WARNING Takealot have made it super difficult to remove your payment method! This must be done intentionally to stop you doing so. VERY DEVIOUS AND WRONG!

how can you say we can order for same day delivery or collection and we dont even get the same day

These stars are NOT for Call Center, I think they are not customer centric nor they care to be. These stars are for two individuals, Mr Solomon (Distribution Supervisor) and Thabo AKA Tee, the driver. These gents are a GEM!! What a good bunch of people who are willing to help their clients above and beyond. Them, what SA needs, not the ROBOT type call center.
I made a mistake with my address and I had to call the call center.. one can imagine "zip all" came out of it, like talking to a wall.. I called the driver and supervisor and they were able to assist me... WOW factor. Thanks gents !

Takealot , not a credible e- commerce site and those who choose to buy from the site should put in mind that some sellers listed on the site under takealot are crooks not sincere . They delivered a product of a different colour and cheaper than my original order but takealot will not refund me the difference .Takealot are practicing bad business culture and before you lose your money do a thorough check . I paid R3990 and they deliverd a product selling at R3141 asked about the difference they argue that difference cant be paid .

As takealot do not want to post my review, here it is:
⭐ 1 star for Takealot and the seller — 5 stars for the product itself.

The product is great and I absolutely love it. Unfortunately, the listing is misleading.

The product does NOT come with an HDMI cable, despite the Takealot listing still advertising that an HDMI cable is included. I raised this with Takealot, but they have not corrected the listing or even addressed the issue with the seller.

Instead, Takealot wants me to send the speaker back so they can “inspect” it. There is nothing to inspect. The box contents are clearly listed by the manufacturer, and an HDMI cable is not included in the box contents. Sending the speaker back will not magically produce an HDMI cable that was never supplied.

The product itself is excellent, but Takealot and the seller need to correct the misleading listing rather than expecting customers to return a perfectly good product to prove that something was never included.

I collected a parcel and realized it was too heavy and awkward for me to carry. I asked the ladies if there is not someone that can help me with it and all they said was...we don't have a trolley. This was at somerset decor centre

Bad service - cannot return an item that is eligible for return despite emailing takealot numerous times. Give me my refund so i can see the back of your company please

Takealot's delivery service is terribly not on. All whilst working less than 1.5km away from Takealot's Kuilsriver pickup point, and residing less than 3km from their Brackenfell pick up point. I was forced to make use of their delivery service. The parcel(s) was scheduled for deliver on Friday, when purchased, and was fir an occasion today (Saturday 29/08/26). Friday late morning (between 10:45 and 11:00) I've received a message stating my delivery was rescheduled for Monday 29/08/26, before 5pm. Upon following up, I got through to a guy named Ryan. He did he's due diligence to follow up and revert back to me, which he promptly did. He than shared with me that he was informed by some Supervisor/Manager that there wasn't a driver available for my delivery. A second excuse surfaced to say, The area that it should be delivered to is flagged and that they only do deliveries early morning, before 9am, to that area. Mind you I've been ready to receive the parcel since 7am. One lie upon the other. Me myself being in the supply chain profession will tell you that's a blatant lie and a result of poor planning and that's BAD service rendering. As a first time delivery service user at Takealot, I can with all honesty say, POOR SERVICE!!!!

I cancelled an order cause delivery time is far too long, they said I was going to receive an email for my refund but never did.

This the 3rd time this happened to me. I see reports on this platform that it’s a regular occurrence. My latest and final one, as I will not purchase there again, was a tool I ordered and paid for on 26 July 2026 with expected delivery 20 August 2026. On delivery day, I noticed the date was changed to 12 September, then 14 September, then 15 September and finally 17 September. Because I’ve been through this before, I cancelled before they did and ordered from Temu last week. It’s expected this weekend. And as predicted, Takealot cancelled today. Takealot, you are deservedly going down Do better!

Just to add, while I was patiently waiting, I checked on the product and noticed that the price changed four times, up to R150 more. My guess is that with my purchases on all three occasions, they realised that it was no longer sold at that price. Instead of giving it to you at that price as required by law, they claim “supplier out of stock”. I found that the same product would still be on their platform by the same supplier at a now more expensive price.

Orderd a genuine Lenovo charger and a generic arrived with a Lenovo sticker on tride to then write a review and takealot would not publish it they rejected my review.

Ordered items. Was for delivery 14 August. Changed to September. Then cancelled. Reordered (paid extra mind you) and again. Cancelled. Reordered. Was due 3 sept. Now again delayed until 6 sept. No definitive answers given. No solving my problem. But they took my money?

Oi!! Do better!!

1. Order on 3 August, delivery due 7 August (my birthday)

2. Cancel my paid order the next day

2. I bought same thing for R9 more... delivery 8 August - today

3. No updates, all info on app remains same, yet still delivery 8 August

I emailed and called

4. 15h00 today, 8th - agent says it's on its way

5. 19h00 today, 8th - sms, delivery TOMORROW the 9th - 2 days late!!

IF I WANTED IT THE 9th I WOULD'VE RESCHEDULED IT MYSELF!
It was due the 7th from the start.

Really not impressed - this is ridiculous and disappointing!!!

Lying and unprofessional

I bought an electric blanket costing R1100.00 that has failed within 2 weeks I reported the matter to takelot and was told Takealot do not do the returns ?
I should contact the supplier So I did Afer 3 days of phone calls that went unanswered emails and non responsive feedback or acknowledgement, I went back to takealot again they referd me to the supplier again When I send communication on email to the supplier my emails are blocked The supplier is Stingray ?
How on earth does this work to get a default item sorted out ?
I feel they are just passing the buck with no one sorting out the issue on hand
I will never buy from Takealot again and most certainly will advise to stop procurement for the company I work for as well This is the pinnacle of poor service Newdlezs to day I will keep on escalating the matter It's important for consumers to know how clients are treated !

Move date of delivery of a fridge. I ordered it 4 days prior to prevent this. Shocking. Time for a new online store. Worst part is you cant get hold of anyone. They will call you in 2hours. That's a joke. Submitted 2 requests. Sorry Takealot. Hope more people stop purchasing from you.

Paid for same day delivery. Never arrived never phoned yet they say it could not delivered. They are unethical. They lie and put false statement that they could not deliver yet we have video cameras at the gate no delivery vehicle the entire day. Disgusting.

Amazing service. I ordered my washing machine and it was delivered within 24 hours by two helpful delivery gentlemen who even carried it into my kitchen.

Absolutely terrible experience. I paid an extra R 184 for fastest delivery yet my parcel never arrive second day even. and their system falsely show it has delivered and signed by me! i still have no idea where my package is. this is unacceptable and complete failure of service.
