From our initial enquiry until picking up the car the service was faultless. Special mention to Charlie and Tye who were both superb and no pressure put on us. All in all a very pleasant experience. Very pleased with the car and would highly recommend Tangelo

Visited Tangelo Exeter. Spoke to sale staff and got all the details about a car they had listed for sale since February 2026. Was told the car was at their Exeter storage facility and they would have to get it for us to see and test drive. Paid the deposit to reserve the car. Appointment for test drive the following day at 12:00.
Received phone call from Tangelo the following morning at 10:30 telling me the car had been sold the previous week but the Plymouth office forgot to remove it from the sales list. Was then told that they 'luckily' had another car almost identical to the one I wanted to buy apart from the colour and the mileage. I was told the milage was double that of the car I had wanted but that as a gesture of good will Tangelo was 'willing' to sell it to me at the same price!!! I responded that this was not a good will gesture, but in fact an insult as the current car had double the mileage of the first car. I was told they needed to check with Plymouth regarding the vehicle inspections etc. I was told I'd get a call the following day .
2 days past and no call. I enquired again. I was told this time that they would reduce the price of the car by £500 of the top asking price (which was £250 MORE than the price we had agreed on). So in essence, a car registered 3 months older, and with 15,000 more miles on the clock, Tangelo felt £250 reduction was doing me a favour!!
Unfair dealer that makes you feel like you've been tricked. Not a nice experience at all. I feel glad I've walked away from this and requested that my reservation fee is returned to me

From initial telephone enquiry, the showroom,to driving away in our new car,the level of professionalism was superb. My vehicle was transported overnight from Exeter to Plymouth without any trouble. Our sales consultant,Charlie was a pleasure to deal with. All aspects of the vehicle exchange ran like clockwork.
Would have no trouble recommending Tangelo to anyone looking for a quality used vehicle.

I was looking for a particular car, and happened to notice that Tangelo, in Plymouth, had just had one come in. No photos or anything to go by, as I was so quick, so I phoned to ask a few questions (colour, mileage, service history etc) and made an appointment for a test drive the following day, which was a round trip of 150 miles. I was dealing with Steve Bunt, who is a very friendly and helpful "salesman". To be fair to the garage, they didn't really have much time to prep the car for my visit, but did the best that they could and it was clean and tidy for my test drive. The drive went well and I decided to buy the car and a deal was done. As the car was black, I particularly wanted black wheels and red calipers, and it was agreed that this would be done before I took delivery, which it was, to my complete satisfaction. It really did make a huge difference to the overall look of the car, and a fantastic job done by the workshop.
Due to my speed in wanting the car, there were a few snags after I picked it up, but Steve worked hard to resolve these and sort them out. My fault really for rushing to collect it. I am now a happy bunny and would happily recommend Steve and Tangelo.

Steve Bunt - I was after a particular car but he swayed me towards a car I never thought I’d afford! He managed to sort my payments out and Im paying £40 a month less than what I had initially anticipated!

For what I usually find an unpleasant experience, purchasing a new car through Tangelo at Exeter was smooth, easy and enjoyable. As others have said - I should mention how great Luke is. Really professional, non pushy but able to provide all info that was needed and was engaging in a good way. He is a credit to the company.

My experience was great with Tangelo due to the staff specifically Alex he was always checking up and providing full transparency on all aspects of the car, which made the process so much easier, I would fully recommend them and use them again

Sadly we bought a car in January 25. For the first week everything was fine. Then we noticed that the performance of the car was getting worse.
Our garage advised us to take it back. Tangelo took it in and gave a courtesy car for the week. After the week was up our car arrived and apparently it had been sat at their garage and absolutely nothing had been done to it!! Totally disgusted.
This car has been nothing but trouble, and finally we have another one now.
I would not recommend this company.

Fantastic service from Luke. He answered all our questions in advance and provided an honest video of the car we wanted to purchase so we could make a decision in advance of a long drive. On the day, Luke and his manager, bent over backwards to get everything sorted for us including preparing the car at short notice for us to drive away that day. Overall, they made buying the car a fantastic experience and the car is exactly as they sold it to us.

I felt I was well taken care off and told everything I need to know about the car I had bought of you and felt everything so explained very well.

From the first phone call to the test drive and eventually buying the car . Ty and Steve were informative and great no pressure to buy.

The service was excellent. Steve was great with the paper work and very fast and responsive even when I wasn't. My Car purchase was very easy and I felt supported through out all the steps.

Everything very straight forward and to plan. The let down was that my car wasn’t ready as planned for pick up. Obviously the salesman Finn had left the car checkout to the last minute and realised the registration plate was missing. A huge and totally avoidable error as I was five minutes away from picking the vehicle up before I got a call. A customers car must be ready well before appointment. Hopefully lesson learnt.
