From start to finish, my experience with the Dutch Life was exemplary. Coming from another country, and having no recent experience being a renter, it was so helpful to have their guidance. The intake process was thorough and included some really smart discussions about cities and neighborhoods, rental markets and finances. Dani and Stenia helped me navigate through the many different pieces of documentation that would be most helpful to securing a rental: including a sweet letter explaining something about myself. They were also terrific when it came to taking a look at potential places, and even though the market was tight, they were still frank about which apartments were most likely to be good long-term candidates. Ultimately, they did two video walkthroughs with landlords, presented my information to the landlord whose apartment I most liked and then celebrated with me when that first offer worked out as though they were the ones who’d be living in this fabulous apartment. It was so lovely to know they were that much on my side. But things didn’t end there: Dani was there when I arrived on a very cold January day, and in the days before and after both she and Stenia checked in and helped me navigate the nuts and bolts of Dutch living. I’m so pleased to have had their help and can’t say enough good things about their kindness and their professionalism. It was just the best possible beginning to my dutch life. When I reached out to The Dutch Life, I was afraid no one would want to work with me because of my budget constraints and area I wanted to live in - in fact, I'd already been turned down by at least 1 makelaar. But Stenia wrote back right away to set up a call, saying there was hope in my situation.

Only 6 weeks later, she found me a gorgeous apartment that I absolutely adore. She and Dani were so warm, friendly, encouraging, and uplifting during the whole emotional process of finding a home. (And I'm a fairly emotional person!) I'd been nervous that maybe I would have to give up on my original criteria and choose a new city, but thanks to their combination of optimism, killer intuition, professional networking, top-notch skills, and speediness, I'm now living in my favorite home I've ever had! Whenever people come over, they're always amazed at where I live.

I remain so grateful for how responsive and kind they have been. It's one thing to find a home (already a difficult feat in Amsterdam!) - it's another thing to be so genuinely wonderful to work with. Dani and Stenia are so patient and kind, and expertly navigate a tough landscape of housing here in The Netherlands. They have a wealth of experience and strategies at your disposal. I never felt like a bother and always felt more at ease when I asked questions. I cannot imagine not having them as our team. We found a place that was way better than we expected and after about a year of living here, we have fallen in love with the location and security this place offers.
