I had an amazing experience volunteering with TMR Sri Lanka! I spent three weeks doing the childcare program and had such a wonderful time. Chamo, the childcare lead, was extremely kind, supportive, and always happy to help whenever I needed anything. The children were incredibly sweet, enthusiastic, and eager to learn, which made the experience even more special.
I also took part in two weekend trips, both of which were fantastic. One of them was a trip to the Maldives, which was absolutely beautiful! Swimming with sharks was definitely one of the highlights. The trips were a great way to explore more and create some unforgettable memories.
I’ve completely fallen in love with Sri Lanka and will always look back on this experience with such happy memories. I would highly recommend TMR Sri Lanka to anyone considering volunteering abroad! 🇱🇰❤️

animal rescue centre Costa Rica
I volunteered at the animal rescue centre in Costa Rica for two weeks and had an amazing time. There was a good mix of volunteering - preparing food, cleaning enclosures and monitoring behaviour of a wide variety of animals - and social activities including dance classes as well as the opportunity to travel or participate on organised trips on days off. I would definitely recommend.

Volunteering with the Mighty Roar in…Bali was special and rewarding
Volunteering with the Mighty Roar in Bali (teaching) was one of the most eye opening and special experiences I have ever had. As soon as I arrived, the other volunteers were friendly, warm and eager to make a difference in the classroom. The children were desperate to improve their English skills and gave 100% effort, making my time there fun and rewarding. One highlight was the ceremony to welcome new volunteers, singing, dancing and exchanging gifts. Even after travelling round Indonesia for 3 weeks, the Mighty Roar was the most memorable part of my trip and I would strongly recommend volunteering with the Mighty Roar.

I did the teaching programme TMR Sri Lanka for 2 weeks and loved every minute!! The children were amazing to teach and the structure of the days were perfect; with enough free time to explore the local town(s). Thank you to Chamo who organised and came along while we taught! Amazing experience!
I had an amazing experience on the medical programme at The Mighty Roar in Sri Lanka. Thilini is a great coordinator and very good at allocating you a range of different learning experiences, according to your preferences. The whole team made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond to help with weekend trips, transfers and literally any other needs. It was a great learning experience and we had the best time, I can’t recommend enough.

I completed the two week medical…
I completed the two week medical programme with TMR in Sri Lanka and had an incredible experience. The staff at TMR are so lovely and welcoming and will do anything to make your stay fun and memorable. They constantly kept us updated and communicated what was going on. They also got us involved in a number of activities like karaoke and party nights, canoeing, hikes, waterfalls and many more! During the weekend we went on both weekend trips and had so much fun! I am very greatful to have this experience. Thank you so much TMR 🩷

I was on the dog programme in Sri Lanka…
I was on the dog programme in Sri Lanka for two weeks and it was such an amazing and worthwhile experience. You truly feel like you’re are making a difference working with the street and sanctuary dogs. The staff a TMR are all so friendly and willing to help. It is in a great location right next to the beach. Could not recommend it more to anyone who loves dogs!!

Amazing time at Imire
We used The Mighty Roar to go to Imire for the volunteering on the horseback program. Our guides Paddy and Bright were brilliant in delivering a variation of experiences with the animals and within the community while also getting to see the sights of the conservancy on horseback. Maddie and Leanne were very warm and welcoming, helping with anything we needed. I could not recommend this trip more.

Kefalonia sea turtles
Fantastic experience, I personally found TMR to be very helpful and quick to respond to any queries I had building up to the trip. Whilst in Greece i found the staff to be extremely kind, welcoming and informative providing activities for us and offering any support / suggestions if needed. The people I met there were also lovely and I found it very quick and easy to settle into the experience and make friends. I thought that the programme was run smoothly and I found it easy to understand what was required of me on any given shift. Furthermore being able to see the turtles and hatchlings was a once in a life time opportunity and I couldn’t recommend highly enough

Turtle conservation, Sri Lanka
My daughter and I have completed 2 weeks doing turtle conservation work in Sri Lanka. We have had an amazing experience.
The whole staff were very friendly and helpful. They organised lots of additional activities which allowed us to learn and experience so much more about Sri Lanka and its culture.
Chathu was so friendly and helpful. She went above and beyond to make sure that we had the best time and really made the most of our time at TMR.

I have given 5 stars for the Ghana team.
Every member of the team could not do more for you, any questions or support needed was handled immediately. The team were friendly, approachable and knowledgable. The food was out of this world and they catered for dietary needs. The team put on several extra free activities like local cooking, trip to the market, dance classes etc. The team were absolutely fantastic. Thank you to each and every one of you ❤️
UK team I would give 3 stars. I found the online meeting unhelpful and unspecific. Parts of the handbook are totally incorrect. I had an issue completing the visa application which kept flashing an error on the page. Asked for assistance from the mighty roar response from the team was totally unhelpful and told me there wasn’t a problem. After my experience I flew to cape town for a trip advertised on the mighty roar website. The trip was miss-sold, I did not find out till two days before leaving the UK the trip was is outsourced with another company. The information the mighty roar have on this trip is partially incorrect and I was not given the option of the accommodation packages like others on the trip again a mighty roar issue.

Medical elective Tanzania
I did the medical elective and was able to attend hospital placement everyday in a local hospital and experience a range of specialities. Tanzania has so much to offer and TMR allows you to do so with lots of trips on offer. The location of the Hostel in Moshi is great. Staff are always friendly and helpful. The hostel accommodation is a little outdated in the rooms. I would say it is good value for money.

Ive had an amazing experience in Sri…
Ive had an amazing experience in Sri Lanka doing the turtle programme i have felt very safe being able to explore the local area and have been given amazing opportunity's such as releasing baby turtles and seeing elephants close up during the weekend trips that are offered! We have had a lot of free time which has enabled us to visit the local town hikkaduwa. Some places i would recommend going to are Sunny side up, Citrus (pool) and Tantalize (pool). The food has been basic and very repetitive which i understand for the price you pay but i have really enjoyed finding new restaurants to eat at and food to get delivered to the accommodation ! Teaching volunteering in sri lanka
I spent two weeks volunteering as an English teacher in Sri Lanka and absolutely loved my experience! I really enjoyed visiting different schools and then returning to the same classes, as it meant we could get to know the students throughout the two weeks. I also loved the balance between volunteering and having free time to explore the local towns and beaches. Having the weekends off was perfect for travelling further afield and seeing more of Sri Lanka. Overall, it was such a rewarding experience, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to combine volunteering with exploring Sri Lanka!
