My daughter was so pleased with her…
My daughter was so pleased with her evening prom dress which was altered to have a side slit put into it, she can’t wait to wear it in December. The quality of the work was exceptional and done so neatly. When we took the dress to be looked at they were so friendly and helpful and it was done remarkably quickly so my daughter could take it back to school with her.Thanks so much we will come again when we need anything altering etc.

Shorten a dress
I asked Salim to shorten a dress for me and he did a first class job. I am delighted with the workmanship. I was told a price, and when the work would be completed. Perfect! I would highly recommend.

3 days before our family wedding my…
3 days before our family wedding my partner bought his suit and needed to let down the hem on his trousers. Saffron stitch were able to complete the work and still have the suit back to us in time at such short notice. Excellent work completed by hand due to the amount of material left to hem the trousers with. Thank you

Excellent service from start to finish
From the first contact, Salim and Greg provided a friendly and helpful service, asking questions to make sure they'd understood what we were looking for. Salim made us 2 beautiful Roman blinds that were easy to install and look great - they surpassed my expectations. DO NOT USE - PLEASE READ
Please know I am a regular user of tailors, so I am well placed to judge the quality of work and level of service. I asked for sleeve and trouser shortening on a wedding suit. They are pricier than most but as they claim they are a genuine tailor, I thought there would be no issues, so I expected 5* service… As sleeves was being shortened I understood that vents would be lost, but I specifically asked for the buttons to be put back on as they were (which is standard across good tailors)... This was agreed. Collected jacket and only 3 out of the 4 buttons had been put back on and they looked awful, not straight, no stitching or faux button holes next to buttons. I told the guy that this was not as agreed or acceptable and he got really defensive and tried to make out this is standard at tailors (it isn’t and he is delusional). He took the jacket back unwillingly and said I’d be called the next day (I was assuming he would be calling me to tell me he had done the buttons properly overnight or something). I wasn’t called so I had to chase and was told that if I wanted the buttons to not look rubbish, I would have to pay them £18 extra to do faux buttons, which I obviously refused. He was rude, obnoxious, somewhat delusional as to industry standards and pricing. I had to be quite stern with them just to get the 4th button put back on that they had left off without my permission.
My friends had all used different tailors and all had buttons removed and put back on with faux buttons holes and stitching so it looked nice, they paid £12 cheaper than I did for the poor quality of work I got. I’ve had plenty of suit jacket sleeves shortened with buttons put back on nicely, it’s just this tailor.
I took the jacket straight to another tailors who advised how bad the work was, particularly for the price. Luckily they felt sorry for me and have redone all the work these done for alot less. I will never ever use these again and I suggest you don’t. There’s a reason why they are unknown and have barely any decent amount of reviews.

After carefully considering your concerns, we have taken a couple of days to craft a constructive response. Firstly, we have established a tailoring Blog that will serve as a resource to help manage customer expectations more effectively over time.
Regarding the alterations you requested, we understand that there were gaps between your expectations and the reality. Our pricing is based on the tailor's time rather than the cost of the garment, as alterations can be time-consuming regardless of the clothing's price. Altering clothing by more than one or two sizes can be challenging due to the tailored nature of the fabric.
Ideally you would have returned your suit for a shorter version but, given the time constraints, this was not possible. Altering your suit was the most viable option. We would have recommended additional alterations, but this would have incurred a higher cost than the suit itself. You chose to proceed with specific alterations, which were explained to you. Shortening the sleeves from the cuff can affect proportions and results in the loss of the sleeve vent and faux buttonholes.
Addressing your specific criticisms:
- Our prices are transparent and communicated upfront.
- We stand by the quality of our work, as evidenced by our many positive reviews.
- We promptly responded to you by email the following morning with alternative options.
- Initially, we replaced only three buttons on each sleeve to preserve proportions.
- We offered to add back the fourth buttons at no additional cost to match your other friends' suits. You chose this option.
- The reason one of your friend's minorly shortened sleeve has its faux buttonholes but only three buttons is because just one of the original buttonholes has been folded up into the sleeve, resulting in three original buttons and a shorter gap between the bottom button and the sleeve edge than the original design.
- Shortening your sleeves by almost four inches required the removal of one faux buttonhole completely, while the remaining three were lost as they were folded into the new hem.
- We strive for politeness and professionalism in our interactions with customers. When we mentioned that your work suit, which you were wearing, also had shortened sleeves with one original faux buttonhole and three re-positioned buttons without faux buttonholes, it appeared to evoke anger. This undermines your claim that buttonholes are always replaced.
- We have a buttonhole machine and offered to re-open your sleeves to replace the faux buttonholes at a reduced charge, which you declined.
We apologize for not meeting your expectations. The primary lesson we've learned for the future is to issue a written estimate and await its acceptance when alterations involve more than two sizes.
We appreciate your feedback, and it will undoubtedly help us improve our services moving forward.
