They have changed the formula for the shampoo and it no longer works to prevent hair fall. I’d been using this shampoo along with the all other products including vitamins for a number of years. It became unavailable for some months for it to come back as a completely different product.
It no longer has the DHT blocker, saw palmetto included in the formula. My hair is falling out like crazy again.
The vitamins have also changed.
I had previously recommended this product to everyone but do NOT recommend it anymore.

The product itself is good. But customer care is awful. They do not answer telephone or emails. I had a complaint about sending bottles in a paper bag through a delivery company. I sent them photographs of a damaged bottle of shampoo that was leaking. No reply. Also I enquired twice about the terms and conditions for a free hairbrush again no reply. They like to take your money and push the products. But customer care is non existent
Do not use them.

I was using their original formula Stimulating Hair growth shampoo for many years. I loved it and it seemed to help with shedding and it gave my hair volume and shine and was a little moisturizing too. Then I reordered it in July, ordering 3 bottles at a time. When it came, it was a completely different product, called Revitalizing shampoo. I immediately contacted the company to say that they had sent the wrong product. They said, no, it's right, we've just changed the formula. We don't make Stimulating Hair Growth anymore. There had been no explanation or word of this on their website. I immediately noticed that this new 'improved' formula was nothing like the original one. It seems to strip my hair and it makes it more dry and harder to comb out. It smells different and basically is sub par to what they originally sold. I am really bummed because now I have to find a new shampoo. And It was really annoying that they didn't say anything about changing their formula on their website. The website STILL hasn't updated to show that they have changed their product line! The bottom line is that I was stuck with 3 bottles of a shampoo I didn't order and there was no offer to replace or refund.

I’m not sure why the shampoo and conditioner everyone’s raving about didnt work for me at all. In fact ordered them both for my postpartum hair loss and I’m losing hair even more than ever…:( I now have a tiny bit of volume left in my ponytail- where is the thick tail promised? I dont think I’ll be buying it anymore…

I was using Thick Tails Shampoo and Conditioner for over 2yrs before they reformulated them - unable to purchase end of 2024 until around May 2025. I researched thoroughly prior to my original purchase, as I specifically needed a shampoo to help hair loss and thinning due to menopause. Thick Tails shampoo was originally marketed as a DHT blocking product, and included ingredients such as Saw Palmetto - it worked!! I was delighted to find with continued use my hair loss stopped completely. Hence I was devastated when I couldn't get hold of any, but relieved when it came back onto the market - until I realised it's NOT the same product in the slightest!! I hurriedly purchased 2 bottles of shampoo and conditioner as soon as I could, but immediately reacted to the conditioner - it now has salicylic acid in (aka aspirin) which I'm allergic to! The shampoo I was able to persevere with, but it's simply awful in every respect - smells terrible (like dirty damp dog), foams like absolute crazy with smallest amount, and does not help prevent hair loss in the slightest (my shower drain has been more blocked than ever). I'm pretty annoyed that this company have continued to market this expensive hair care range as though they're the same products, sending emails to previous customers like myself, and essentially falsely selling under the guise of them simply being improved, rather than the honest truth that they're completely different.

Your hair vitamins work great my hair has grown in more thick & has grown out a lot more. I recommend your vitamins to everyone!

Purchased this item with a promise that if I wrote a review on amazon I would qualify for a free hair brush. Although I wrote the review which they accepted . Twice I have requested the free brush they are completely ignoring me. Not a satisfying company to deal with.

I am 61 and postmenopausal. I have always had a mane of very thick, wavy hair, but over the last few years it has been thinning and I could see my scalp, particularly at the front and along the parting, which was rather upsetting. :(

Thick Tails was getting good reviews, so I thought I would give it a try. I bought a bundle of two sets of the shampoo and conditioner and the vitamin supplements.

WOW! Within three weeks I noticed that I was shedding fewer hairs in the bath and shower. My hair immediately felt thicker, softer and more bouncy.

I have now been using the products for about 6 months and I can no longer see my scalp. My hair is back to it's 'lion's mane' self and I am delighted!

The shampoo and conditioner last a long time and I am nowhere near through the first set. So although the products are a bit expensive, a little goes a long way.

My daughter has been shedding hair due to stress and she too was impressed by the products, so might also become a customer.

If you have thinning hair, do give Thick Tails a try. You have nothing to lose and hopefully will see a difference very quickly. I am going to stick with this product forever.

The products arrived within 24 hours - that was the first positive sign. I’ve been using the shampoo, conditioner, thickening spray and serum for about three weeks now and I absolutely love it. I immediately noticed less hair in my brush and my hair looking and feeling thicker. Next I noticed my hair knotting less. It was taking an hour every night to brush out tats with breakage. Now, it takes minutes to brush out with very little hair loss, finally, I’ve lost huge amounts of hair due to menopause and I can’t have HRT due to a medical condition. No one could help me. I’ve spent thousands on products, infrared treatments, supplements, scalp treatments - nothing worked and I was left with bald patches around the sides of my hair and thinning on top. It was so traumatic. It’s early days but when massaging in the serum I can feel fine, baby hairs. I’m hopeful of regrowth. This range has made such a difference and I truly wish they did a veggie version of their collagen. I’d buy that too! I now have hope I can save my hair and maybe grow some back. I highly recommend the products and the lovely company.

As the company has grown, customer service has taken a huge hit. They now ignore emails and are letting down long term, loyal customers. I’ve not changed it to 1 star as the serum and thickening spray are good. That’s irrelevant when they treat customers with such disrespect. I’ll no longer deal with this awful company. It’s a crowded market - I’ll spend my money elsewhere and would urge others to do the same!
