This was our second project with Thistle. Overall another super job. All trades were really friendly and did a great job. Particular shout out to Ryan the electrician for rectifying a fault with our central heating even though he'd finished for the day.
Great experience start to finish with super design suggestions which we hadn't considered. Kept up to date with schedule and any issues smoothly resolved.
Would definitely recommend Thistle to anyone considering a kitchen upgrade.

I recently had my old conservatory altered to a sun room. The whole process was straightforward and stress free from beginning to end. The team were professional. Nothing was too much trouble. I am delighted with the result as are my friends and family.

Stuart did a fantastic job erecting the door and even came back the next day to explain how to use the lock. Very happy with the work done by Thistle.

I have been a customer of Thistle Windows for several years now and it was them I contacted to replace my old Conservatory with a new one. I was more than happy with the end result and impressed with the workmanship.

Any small issues have been dealt with straight away and credit must first of all go to Elaine Beattie, Customer Service and Admin Assistant. She is on the ball and either Nick or Mike will arrive the same day to solve the problem.

The most recent call to Elaine was when we had heavy snowfall earlier this year and some of the gutters on my Conservatory fell down due to them being packed solid with ice and snow. Mike appeared that day to assess the situation and report back to Elaine. She phoned me to say that she had ordered replacement guttering and once this arrived she again advised when Mike and Nick would be out to carry out the work.

I should add that I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to work being carried out on my house, being inside or out, so praise does not come lightly!

We are absolutely delighted with our new kitchen. The process was much easier than we expected and the installation was professionally managed from the design stage through to final completion.

Everyone we dealt with from Thistle Kitchen & Bathrooms was friendly, polite, and very respectful of our home. The finished kitchen looks brilliant and works perfectly for how we use this space.

We have no hesitation in highly recommending Thistle to anyone looking to upgrade their kitchen.

AVIOD THIS COMPANY.

The first day of our window installation seemed to go well.
However the 2nd day the installer while ripping out the front door cut through the hard wired door bell and fused the whole of the downstairs. Had to wait hours for an electrician who was here approximately 5 mins. I was assured it was all sorted, and front door was installed.
We then had to get them back to fix doors and outsides which weren’t finished
We then discovered the door bell wiring had not been fixed so were left without a bell. And no way to fix as the wiring is under the framework of the new door and no way to get near it. We had to purchase a ring doorbell so we had something and left with a bell box inside the house we will have to rip out and repaper to fix.
Very luckily for us we were getting electrical work done from a ‘proper’ electrician who told us we were lucky the house hadn’t gone up in flames. Instead of repairing the fuse in the box their electrician had wired everything through the one fuse and overloaded the fuse which could have cause a fire.
We have now been contacting them regarding the kitchen window and door frames. As we have been told they have been fitted the lazy way. Where all joints should be mitred (as they were with the old) they have fitted them as quick as possible and we have been left with this monstrosity.
We contacted thistle and the sales man eventually got back to us and said the office had tried to call us - but they hadn’t we were assured they would call that week, but no call. We were assured a call the next week and surprise surprise no call. And now the 3rd week we have been promised a call and yet again they have avoided us.

This is ridiculous these windows and doors were not cheap. You expect your property to be respected and any damage rectified and not to be left with weird frames. And having to repaper cause they ruined the door bell.

From Kristina who designed our new kitchen, seeing it for the first time I couldn’t believe my kitchen could look like that! The quality of the units, worktops & appliances were of a high standard. As for the installation, it was stress free & knew what was happening everyday. Chris the joiner was absolutely amazing & did turn my dream kitchen into a reality! I smile every time I’m in there as still can’t believe it’s my kitchen! All work was completed to a high standard. I would highly recommend Thistle.

New kitchen designed and fitted 2 years ago. Brilliant service before, during and after. Great help with any of the issues wev’ve had (which weren’t Thistle’s fault but appliance and flooring suppliers problems). Even to the point of saving Christmas by lending us a combi microwave when our latest replacement from Caple stopped working again and they couldnt do anything until the New Year. Keith and his team have gone above and beyond our expectations. Thank you!

Working with Tanya and the team in Aberdeen was a fantastic experience from the first moment of enquiry to delivery of final results. Tayna guided us through the process with laughter and turned what was a general concept into a beautiful bathroom reality. The virtual walkthroughs really helped us to make decisions easily and she had the patience of a saint to try out different options for us as we made the final decisions.

The workmen were all very professional and final results of very high standard. They kept everything clean and tidy, were friendly and very easy to work with.

We had such a wonderful experience that we have already signed for another project - this time a garage conversion!

Beginning with the design process- Joanne’s knowledge, expertise and experience were evident in the design she produced, which was detailed and meticulous built round my needs. When I saw the design for the first time it was incredible - better than I could have ever imagined.
The installation was stress free well coordinated and I knew what was happening every step of the way. Chris turned the plans into a reality as did the other trades involved. Seeing it come to life was amazing.
All the work was completed to a very high standard and the attention to detail was second to none.
I could not recommend Thistle enough, simply amazing.
I love my kitchen and smile every time I walk into it . I cannot quite believe it’s mine !!

All work was carried out in a professional and efficient manner, resulting in an excellent end result.

We have used Thistle for various home improvement projects over recent years ranging from replacement windows and external doors to extensive remodelling of a dining room and kitchen into a single open plan living space, walk-in wardrobe and new master ensuite and have had nothing but a pleasurable experience from design through to build. Quality is important to us and this is something the Thistle team have collectively and consistently delivered time and again, overseen by excellent project management. Our latest project was to replace a small ensuite which was another quality result delivered on time and within budget.
Doubtless there are many alternatives out there but if you want a bespoke turnkey solution without drama or fuss at a reasonable price then look no further.

We found from conception to completion the procedure was effortless. Tanya was professional and we quickly arrived at an ideal plan for a small space.
Jan the Project Manager and his team worked their magic in a very tidy and efficient way.
The room went from 'drab to fab'

PLS BE CAREFUL AVOID
I am a woman living on my own excited about getting my windows, door and outside cladding installed .I had various companies visit but thought I would like to keep the company local.First sales person from this company that visited me, I could tell by his whole attitude he was pushy, no patients and very abrupt . potentially giving business to acompany I felt patronised and intimidated. I felt he spoke down to me while not being quick enough in giving him the answers he wanted . He quoted me on the wrong amount of windows and wrong colour for a start.I wanted to go with this company at the beginning so I thought by going to the company and asking for different sales person to do my quote would be better.I had another sales person who came to do my quote and when finished ran over my requirements .I noticed right away after him finishing the quote not only how pricy it was comparing with other 5 companies I had prices from but he hadn’t paid attention to what I asked when taking in my front door . My choice was the pull shut door with the long handle from top to bottom instead he quoted me for a standard manual close door which is much cheaper door and not so secure.He was aware of my requirements as I had met this man down in the showroom previously where we went indepth into this discussion.He tried to say I’d need to pay more and he was adamant I asked for this door and I was adamant I had not and I was under the impression this cost of his included my door. He tried to make me pay £900 more and I told him I wouldn’t be going ahead as this was my limit and I was disappointed he hadn’t paid more attention after the problems I had with the first sales person . He made me feel like i was the one to blame but he would honour it anyway .Even with this in mind I felt rather embarrassed and slightly annoyed he had fired this back on me when I knew full well it was him that got it wrong.I really should have seen the red flag this early but wanted to still believe they were a good company and it was just all a misunderstanding .He pushed me for £7,000 upfront of the payment while he was there as he believed for 5 windows a door and 3 small pieces of cladding was well justified price of £14,000 .It was all new to me and I thought maybe this was a good price as he tricked me into thinking all the rest of the companies materials are not good , they come with numerous problems to follow .I guess I was slightly gullible but had my doubts as I was beginning to see through this man. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and paid the £7,000. Firstly was given the chance to pay on a financial scheme that would benefit me but then he bullied me into thinking because his price was very low for what he had given me that on the terms of him going ahead I would need to pay cash upfront. I do wonder if I had someone with me or a partner would he have intimidated me into his way of thinking. It was not until the surveyors visit things went drastically wrong.The surveyor report did not match this salesman.He had firstly put in for the cheaper door but with the expensive cost attached and the colour was not set in stone I had asked for. the surveyor had questioned the colour of pale grey I’d asked for and I’d been charged for which should have been all agreed on taken my £7000 deposit . He said working as Thistles surveyor had never seen evidence before of them being able to match my cladding to the door and windows especially if they don’t have this in stock as one of their main colours available in the showroom. I was now getting worried as I’d paid a large sum of money before installation and things going wrong, was really not acceptable. It just seemed one error after another.I asked the surveyor to hold fire until I called them . I did so and spoke to yet another very rude person , which seems a regular occurrence with this company .You give them your well earned money and business and you get spoken to like trash .Every time I spoke to someone they were on the defence instead of any apology, turning blame on the customer .This person spoke to me like I was a small child and said well just let the man do his job and we can sort this out later.So he wanted me to sign off the paperwork and they would deal with this later waiting for his salesman to come back from being on the golf course in 4 days time .To say I was taken aback is an understatement !The next day I visited the showroom and asked politely if I could speak with either one of the directors and not the sales manager as he was an so arrogant and an abrupt individual with no customer focus and certainly did not know how to communicate with customers I felt intimidated being around him.She called upstairs and of course senior staff was there and available to take the call but conveniently when I asked to speak to one of them they were all just in a meeting.More to come !

Back in 2017 we had our front and back doors replaced by Thistle Doors and were absolutely delighted with them!
Fast forward to May 2025 and we contacted Thistle because the door handles required to be tightened and this was carried out promptly and efficiently the very next week....excellent service we thought but at that time photos were taken because something had caused very small "bubbles" to appear on the outside of both doors!
We were amazed when somebody from Thistle phoned us to let us know that we were to get replacement doors fitted and within the week two very pleasant young men appeared and did just that...two new doors were fitted with absolutely no fuss and as importantly to me, no mess!
Nothing was too much trouble for them and they only left when they knew that we were completely satisfied with both doors, and we were!
I should add that of course they took the two original doors with them!
I can't recommend Thistle highly enough and wouldn't hesitate to use their services again myself should the need arise!

Thistle tradesmen were fantastic and a credit to the company, first class workmanship from first class people

Beware 8 weeks on still waiting on kitchen arrival.once they get your deposit u don’t exist never nobody available absolute nightmare.

can understand the amount of 1 star reviews, had them doing our kitchen 5 years ago, had them back for repairs a few times, about to get another contractor to rip out the flooring, as all the joints cracked due to Thistle not screeding the floor properly before putting flooring down, called out a plumber to repair leaks in cupboard, they also broke the lock mechanism in my back door , which they so called repaired but failed a week later and so ended up repairing it myself. If you want a trouble-free kitchen installed, go elsewhere

Fitters were efficient, friendly and cleaned up well afterwards.
