Went to the Chequers Inn today on the recommendation of friends. Was really disappointed with food. Roast dinners we gad to our disappointment. Burnt Yorkshire puddings and crisps as garnish on the gravy. How disgusting is that. The desserts also a let down the spotted pudding D I C K was just dry sponge with a few raisins and a spoonful of custard instead of a steam pudding with homemade custard. My apple crumble was slimy and had No texture. Overall disaster lunch. Gave comments to the waitress with no apology just said she would let the kitchen know. We sat there a further 15 minutes with no apology or a chat with the manager or kitchen staff. If you have any sense Save your money and go somewhere else for a decent lunch. Was awful. No comments from any staff member so clearly not bothered.

Not to sure when turning into car park
Not to sure when turning into car park, obviously a problem with the thatch and a bit shabby, I'm thinking have we made the right choice for a annual reunion with an old school friend?? Yes we have, very welcoming and cosy woodburner keeping you warm. Good food at good price and a barmaid/server on a Tuesday with a great wit and personality. Love it.

Great village Pub
Great village Pub/B&B, food and staff. During Covid season, has really stepped up on delivering great quality food available for takeaway, from pizzas to full sunday roasts, Chequers burgers to lasagnes, cheesecakes to crumbles. Staff, food and accomadation are all fantastic.
