We had most dealings with Dan at the southend branch. One of the worst experiences we've had with a solicitor. I should have known when the very first contact had the wrong name on the documents, however, things got worse as time moved on. The lack of care and communication was shocking. We were chased for documents we had sent months previous, delays were caused by not responding to bottom chain queries early on. The final completion statement had the wrong purchase amount on it, there was 5k left off the final figure owed back to us. I do wonder what might have happened to that money If we hadn't queried it, but the final fun part for us was finding out they had "miscalculated" the final figure, for us to find out we then had to pay close to £400 extra they hadn't accounted for. My final email complaint about this has still yet to be answered but in 8 weeks I'll be taking the complaint to the regulating authority and legal ombudsman. We paid to have all this taken care of and was let down massively. But rest assured, they didn't forget the nearly £500 they charged for our first buyer pulling put of the sale.

Maxine Barrett provided a very high standard of service in relation to a residential sale. Very responsive to emails and returning calls. Her advice allowed for informed decision making and Maxine and her team provided regular updates and helped to progress the transaction when having to deal with curve balls like spray foam insulation in loft area - she help sense check for pragmatic client based solutions and provided clear and timely advice. I am comfortable that Maxine's expertise was appropriate and correct choice for me notwithstanding that other firms were coming in with more modest fees for the transaction.
