I was looking for a Ruthless Warrior account for transmog and contacted TopWoWAccount, as they told me they had one available for €3300. That sounded perfect, so I asked for some pictures as proof. In the beginning, they said it was not possible to provide pictures, but after some discussion, I finally received images and everything looked correct.

I then sent a $500 USD deposit (I have screenshots of the payment). Since I needed time to collect the remaining €2900, I did some additional research and found several forum posts where people claimed they had been scammed, and there were multiple reports saying the same thing.

Because of that, I asked their support if it would be possible to meet in-game so I could verify that the warrior actually had what I was looking for. Since I had already paid a deposit, I felt that was a fair request, and if they had nothing to hide, it should not have been a problem. However, this turned out to be a big problem for TopWoWAccount.

After that, I decided to cancel my order. They told me the deposit would be refunded within 30–60 days. I will wait and see if that actually happens. Luckily, I took screenshots of our entire conversation, because the messages were later deleted from their website.

Overall, based on my experience and what I have read from other people, this seems very suspicious and potentially a scam. I have also posted about my experience on Reddit.
