I am so angry right now . I ordered 3 electric blue rams and received 2 completely different fish . I’ve emailed I’ve wattsapp as it says that is the fastest way to get issues resolved.
I’m still waiting for my refund nearly £30 and not one person has had the decency to respond and apologise to me .
Order was delivered the 8th of October it’s now the 12th

I recently purchased 6 young Heros severum (Manacapuru / Blue) and I couldn't be happier. The fish arrived in absolute pristine condition – healthy, active, and settled into the tank straight away after acclimatisation.
The prices were very fair, and to top it off, I received a lovely discount on the delivery fee, which is a great bonus when it comes to livestock shipping. The packaging and overall service were top-tier and purely professional.

Had missing items in my order tried to get help very unsuccessfully customer service is appalling now it seems I'm out off pocket I've spent alot of money with this company never complained once with previous orders that didn't have the amount of fish that I paid for but this order is the dearest one yet disgusting service

Very disappointing experience – 32 fish missing from my order!

I ordered 39 live fish from Tropical Fish Co, paying £202.29. Unfortunately, I received only 7 fish. The remaining 32 fish, worth £126, were missing.

I received only one box and have no idea what happened to the rest of my order. I don't know whether the fish were never packed or whether something went wrong during delivery. If multiple boxes were dispatched, I was never informed.

I was also disappointed with the transport conditions. Although the fish were packed in a polystyrene box with insulation, newspaper and a heat pack, the heat pack was completely cold when I opened the package. The water in the bags felt very cold, and the fish were noticeably pale.

This raises serious concerns about how well the fish were protected during transport. These are living animals, not ordinary products, and their welfare should be a priority.

I contacted the company immediately by email and also sent text messages to the phone number I found. The only replies I received appeared to be automated responses, with no actual explanation or solution. So far, I have received no proper response from a member of staff.

Mistakes can happen, but a company selling live animals should take such problems seriously and respond promptly.

I paid over £200, received only a small part of my order, and have been left without answers. I am extremely disappointed with this experience and the customer service.

Based on my experience so far, I cannot recommend this company.

Thank you for your response on Trustpilot.

First of all, I find it unreasonable to expect customers to record the entire unboxing process. When ordering live fish, who would expect that 32 out of 39 fish might be missing? I certainly didn't. I simply expected to receive what I had paid for.

When I opened the package, I immediately noticed that the water in the bags was very cold and the heat pack was completely cold. The fish were also noticeably pale. My priority was to acclimatise them properly and get them safely into my aquarium, not to spend time recording a video.

You stated that you have reviewed my emails, photographs and courier records. However, you still haven't answered the most important question: what happened to my 32 missing fish?

Surely, your packing records should establish how many fish were actually packed and whether my order was dispatched in one box or multiple boxes. If more than one box was sent, I was never informed of this.

I would appreciate written confirmation of exactly how many fish were packed, how many boxes were dispatched and whether all 39 fish actually left your premises.

I also want to make something very clear: my preference is to receive the 32 fish I originally ordered, not simply to get my money back. I chose these particular fish because I wanted them for my aquarium.

However, if you are unable to supply the missing 14 Marbled Hatchetfish and 18 Super Blue Emperor Tetra, I expect a full refund of £126 for the undelivered fish.

I understand that mistakes can happen, but you are dealing with living animals, not ordinary products. I believe this requires greater care, responsibility and much better communication with customers.

I have already contacted you by email and text message, yet I am still waiting for a clear explanation and a concrete solution.

I am not asking for anything unreasonable. I simply want to receive what I paid for, or be refunded for what I did not receive.

I would appreciate a prompt response and a clear resolution to this matter.

Placed an order in advance for delivery the following week (complying with the site’s requirements).
Received an email four days later to say part of the order wasn’t available and they’ll dispatch everything the following week (particularly annoying as an unexpected trip caused me to pass several good fish shops that morning).
I send three emails and a WhatsApp message requesting they send whatever parts of the order they could on the original date as it wasn’t possible to be at home the following week.
When they finally responded, they had missed the delivery window for the initial date and I could either accept the new date or cancel the order
As we were in the midst of a family emergency, I had to cancel the order and requested a full refund.
A few days later, whilst now away (and still dealing with the emergency) I see emails from a courier company about an attempted delivery and then another from Tropical Fish Co...
They had accidentally sent out the order and were now requesting that, as I’m not around, when the item is delivered, that I ask a neighbour to take the box in, put the fish in a tank or bucket of dechlorinated water with a heater over the weekend. When I return and I can either send them back the following Monday (the earliest courier availability) or I can keep them and they’ll (generously, in their opinion) give me a 25% discount!

I saw this message the following morning (Fri) by which time the courier company attempted and failed to make the delivery and I could rearrange delivery for Monday. Concerned that the fish would then spend 4days in transit (and obviously not at 24c). I then spend 30 mins trying to contact the courier (without success) and a further hour driving towards their depot to see if I could collect them in person, before the weekend.
Fortunately, TropicalFishCo emailed (whilst only halfway to the depot) confirming the fish were being returned to them they would now issue the requested refund.
I fully appreciate that things can go wrong, but this was totally avoidable and plain irresponsible of them to let this package be sent out. Whilst this simple order turned into an incredibly stressful and frustrating waste of time for me, I’m sure it was worse for the livestock.
The offer of a 25% discount – I should be invoicing them for the inconvenience!
Was nervous about ordering livestock online and doubt I'll be risking it again.

Delivery was on time and the fish were excellent I shall definitely be using this company again 😄

I bought four round tailed paradise fish from Tropical Fish Co. A species hard to get hold of. Tropical Fish Co not only were able to supply them as detailed on their website, but the price was good and more importantly they arrived happy and healthy. No issues. I was kept informed of their arrival date. Will definitely buy from them again!

I cannot speak too highly about this company. Over theyears I have purchased fish from many companies but this is one of the best, thay make sure that the fish you purchase from them are in good health and deliver quickly to make sure that fish arrive in good condition, should you have any enquiries they are pleased to help.
