A Rare Gem of a Private Double-Glazing Company
We recently had the pleasure of discovering Tru Seal and having them install a new front door for us, and we couldn't be more pleased with the experience.
We live in a new-build house and, from day one, wanted to replace the front door. It made our hallway very dark, was of poor quality, and had been badly installed. We actually had to push it with our knee just to get it to lock!
We wanted a modern door with more glazing and found a design we really liked using Door Co.'s excellent online design tool. Once we had completed the design, they recommended Tru Seal as one of their preferred suppliers in our area.
I contacted Tru Seal and was given the number of their salesperson, Ross, who arranged a visit within a few days. I must admit we were initially a little nervous, as double-glazing salespeople have a reputation for pressure selling. However, Ross arrived with the company owner, Ken, and we were particularly impressed that Ken personally measured the door himself. Both were extremely professional and took the time to explain how they would overcome the problems we had experienced with our existing door. There was absolutely no pressure selling whatsoever. We received the quotation the following day, and it was very reasonable. They were also able to accommodate everything we wanted. Another important point for us was that there was no upfront payment, the full balance was only due once the installation had been successfully completed.
From that point onwards, we were looked after by the lovely Bev in the sales office. She helped us tailor the door to exactly what we wanted and kept us regularly informed about delivery and installation. The door was ready within just a few weeks.
The installation was carried out by two extremely friendly and professional fitters (sorry, but forgot their names). They took great care of our property, installed the door beautifully, and adjusted it so well that it now closes effortlessly. They also left the door and surrounding area spotless. We then received the invoice from Bev, and she registered the installation with FENSA for us. We are now awaiting our certificate.
We wholeheartedly recommend Tru Seal. They are a well-established, privately owned company that clearly takes pride in its work. What really stood out to us was the personal and professional service from everyone we dealt with. Unlike many of the large double-glazing companies we have encountered, Tru Seal doesn't seem to have the overheads of an expensive showroom operation and, most importantly, there was absolutely no pressure selling at any stage.

I bought plastic cladding from this…
I bought plastic cladding from this company in 2024 after making it absolutely clear to the salesperson that I needed a product suitable for cladding the outside of a garage I was building. I relied on their expertise and purchased the product they recommended. I later returned and bought more of the same cladding.
Less than two years later, the cladding has bowed, split and is clearly not fit for the purpose I was told it was suitable for.
When I contacted the company, I expected them to investigate what had happened and offer a reasonable solution. Instead, I was told that the product was only intended for internal use. I explained that this was precisely the issue—I had specifically asked for an external product and had relied on the advice given by their salesperson.
The company asked me to provide my invoice and then simply highlighted that the product description stated "internal use only". That became the basis for refusing any refund, goodwill gesture or meaningful assistance. While I accept that the invoice contains those words, they do not change the advice I was given at the point of sale, which is why I bought the product in the first place.
The most disappointing part of this experience has been the complete lack of accountability. Rather than acknowledging that incorrect advice may have been given, the company chose to rely entirely on the wording of the invoice and leave me with the cost of replacing cladding that has failed.
Mistakes can happen in any business. What defines good customer service is how those mistakes are handled. Unfortunately, my experience suggests that once a sale has been made, customer support ends there. I cannot recommend a company that is unwilling to stand behind the advice given by its own staff.

I don't often write reviews but I feel I have to this time.
I have a fitter who has fitted a door and window for me last week he suggested I use Truseal Plastics as he had used them before.
I rang up Truseal Plastics a few weeks ago and spoke to Harj who took all my details down along with all my sizes and sent me all the choices I had in order to find the best door for me.
I had several back and forth conversations with Harj and I decided on the door i wanted and I also ordered the first window that I need to change.
These products were fitted by my fitter last week.
They are, as expected brilliant quality and just what I had visualised.
Thank you again to Harj and Truseal for making this such a pleasurable experience.
I would highly recommend them in every way possible.

I went all over Barnsley searching for materials till I got to tru seal...the bloke in the shop (shane) was 100% and he litrally went through everything with me and got what I needed....really good service and would definitely recommend this place....I will be using these in the future without a doubt. We have just had a composite door & frame & window fitted, Harj the guy from their office sorted everything out for us, he was very knowledgeable about their products advising us about the best options for our job, he kept us informed about when the door & window would be ready & organising a convenient day to get the job done, the products were delivered in the morning & the fitters arrived just after, I must say the fitters were excellent, very polite & did a fantastic job & leaving everything clean & tidy
All in all a great job & thanks again to Harj for making it so easy from start to finish, would definitely recommend
