Unpaid Wages, Changing Explanations, and Unresolved Payment by Richard Baldwin III and Tori Porter
Since Tori Porter is also a co-founder of LISTR, I believe workers and other professionals should exercise caution when considering working or transacting with him. Based on my own experience, I am still owed wages despite repeatedly trying to resolve the issue, and I have also come across similar payment-related complaints on other platforms. I can only speak to my own experience, but the similarities are concerning and worth considering before entering into any professional arrangement with him or his businesses.
I was hired by Fintology Technologies Corporation as a W-2 full-time employee and signed an employment contract stating approximately 40 hours per week with weekly salary payments. I dealt with Tori Porter (@exitwithtori / @richporter) and Richard Baldwin III (@fundyourfortune) regarding my employment and unpaid wages.
I was paid for my first two weeks of work, covering the weeks of July 17 and July 24, although the July 24 payment was late and was only received on July 30. For my July 31 workweek and subsequent work, I was not paid. I continued working through August 12 because I was repeatedly told that the payment issue was being looked into. I am currently owed $520.
The explanation later given to me was that I would only be paid for the time I was actively processing applications because I supposedly agreed to a “passive” job based on the job posting. I reviewed the job posting myself, and it does not describe the position as a passive job. It describes the position as full-time, 40 hours per week, requires 8–10 hours of daily availability, and states that training is paid.
My signed employment contract, however, does not state that I would only be paid for the time actively spent on an application or that time spent remaining available for incoming applications is unpaid. It also does not establish a probationary wage arrangement. The 30-day provision in the contract relates to benefits eligibility which Tori claims.
Tori bases his claims through the Job posting that they've made but does not honor it when it doesn't benefit them. Another example is that the job posting stated that training is paid, I was told by Richard that my training was not paid because there was no work being performed during that time.
I repeatedly provided my hours and everything requested and gave the company weeks of opportunities to resolve this directly. Despite being told multiple times that my payment would be prioritized, I am still waiting.
I have also come across other reports from workers regarding payment issues with the company. While I can only speak to my own experience, seeing similar complaints while experiencing this situation myself raises serious concerns.
This has been an extremely disappointing experience. I am owed $520 in outstanding wages, and I am willing to update or remove this review once the full amount has been paid and this matter has been properly resolved.
Until this matter is resolved, I would strongly advise other workers to think twice before working with this company. In my experience, they have made repeated commitments regarding my payment without following through, and they have failed to handle my earned wages in a professional and timely manner.
