Booked to do an annual gas safety certificate for two boilers. Engineer arrived stressed and rushed, hardly said hello and didn’t even come and find me to say goodbye. Promptly received an email invoice, paid and confirmed within one business hour. 8 days, 4 chaser emails and a phone call later, still no certificates.

Update: Certificate now received following this review.

Took a little while to respond to my original email and I feel communication is not their strength but the engineer who did arrive was thorough and knowledgeable and diagnosed the issue with my underfloor heating quickly. He explained the issue and that it was fairly easy to remedy and the estimated time it would take to put right. I felt the service of the engineer was excellent.

Appointment at 8 am - turned up at 12.00.Tried to call them but phone lines then not working. No response to emails. When the engineer did turn up was apologetic, efficient, and knowledgeable. I was concerned that the company was a scam, but its not, just a bit disorganised.

Very rude plumber

I had a very disappointing experience with UK Gas Plumbers.

At first, things appeared professional: they asked for photos of the installation area and provided a quote based on that. I accepted the quote informally and followed up with a call to ask which boiler model they intended to fit, as I wanted to ensure we aligned our flow and return correctly in advance. Essentially he responded was saying that only an idiot would want to get the flow and return aligned correctly in advance. His tone was really unexpected and unnecessarily condescending. I’m always very polite and helpful, he could have responded in the same way regardless of his answer.

Then, just two days before the scheduled work, he asked for a video of the same location we had already photographed — and then increased the price by about 30% with no explanation. He had not previously asked for a video.

When I raised concerns about this last-minute change and how we were being treated, I received no response at all.

From start to finish excellent they carried out taking our four old outdated boilers and replaced with three modern models.
