I taxed my car for a full year 2 weeks before it was due, but decided to put my car in part exchange 1 week before. This happened on 21st January 2026, it is now 21st April, I have complained twice and was told to wait a further few weeks. The system is unreliable and antiquated, I therefore suggest the DVLA modernise it. Why is it we can tax our cars online, but can't get a refund online, the solution is as simple as that!

Just another scam serving to pay administrations and countless useless jobs etc ! Reality is if this tax was used properly, the infrastructures would be maintained and improved. We have pot holes and some of the least quality highways in western europe. And no political party has the courage to put an end to this INSTITUTIONAL THEFT...

Scam company should not be on website thought I was dealing with dvla to tax car fraudulent website don’t go on it

Trick tactic pretends to be gov DVLA . If you have witnessed this sponsored ad you can click the the dots ... and flag it to google for misleading. scammers, misleading sponsored advert above official gov.uk website. You think you are taxing your vehicle and instead are only paying for free information

Site is a scam, it look like a site to tax your vehicle

Like others have said, this is made to look like you are taxing your car but just gives you information you can find for free, and also signs you up for a monthly subscription. Annoyed at myself for not looking properly before purchase, but even more annoyed that they don't make it clear that you sign up for a 12-month contract! Had to go into the terms & conditions to find out how to cancel this after a £7.99 charge was issued to my bank account. See my previous review. Google have refused twice to take it down. However I thought it had stopped appearing in Google search but I can see people are still being scammed. Can anyone let me know if they have still been scammed. Google make it really hard to report scams websites

I thought I was paying my road tax. Only a month later (when some £7.99 subscription was taken from my account) I noticed I've been scammed and driving my car untaxed! Had to contact my bank to get it sorted. I'm suprised this kind of website is still up there

Scam - do not use, only use the official gov website and ensure you aren't being redirected by Google ads

Harvests information as it is Nothing to do with Rosd Tax. Have cancelled my debit card just to be sure they atr not harvesting bank details

This is a scam web site. Do NOT use it! If you do, contact your bank and they will refund you and cancel any D/D you set up. It should be closed down by the NCA

I am very vigilant cannot believe I was scammed by this company thinking I was taxing my car. They are refusing to give me my refund. Going to try with my bank. Awful that google allow them to take over GOV.uk

Scam!!! Misleading. Does not tax your car. Takes the exact amount that your monthly tax would be and then wants to charge you every month! Beware - do not use!!!

Absolute scam. Makes you think you’re paying for road tax but you’re not. Scams you out of money for an unnecessary report. I guess it’s my fault for not checking but if you type in the URL on the V5C this site comes up first in a search engine and not the .gov site. Hats off to the scammers for ensuring that happens.

23/04/2026 Update.

So not only did they scam me out of money initially, I’ve only just noticed I’ve been unwillingly
signed up for a monthly‘subscription’ of £7.99. From the three months I’ve been ‘subscribed’ I’ve received…nothing. The money was removed by a site called vehicledebit and not vehicleroadtax which now as of today throws up a 505 error.

Absolute scam, my fault for clicking into the first search result. Why does Google allow this kind of service to pop up first. Giving me information that I can get for free!!!

Very misleading site purporting to be “vehicle road tax” but is in fact selling VR5 vehicle history reports. Almost had me but I realised at the last minute. And I’m pretty digitally savvy so I wonder how many people fall for this.

A very clever scam that makes you believe you're taxing your car but are in fact paying for some report that you could get for free.

Not sure if I'll get my money back due to the small print on their website, also, disgusting that Google allows this as the number one return on their search engine.
