Had a bad experience with a specific tutor, increasing the price by a factor of three after I indicating that I want to continue and book several lectures in advance. The price increase was not visible at first and I was charged more than 70 EUR/45 minutes. Canceling the booked lectures is not possible on the platform. After submitting a complaint VerbalPlanet reimbursed me and was helpful. The price increase was then also indicated on the tutor's page. Since there are several tutors indicating similar prices / 45 minute lecture the method might be applied by other tutors as well. So better not book several lectures in advance in order to avoid simiar experiences.

I like the fact that you can see the description and background of each tutor, so you can find one that might suit you. Also, it's very convenient to see all available timeslots of tutors and if you are shy to say goodbye you can just stop scheduling classes :)

What upset me is the refund policy, each student has only 1 trial and in case for any reason the trial didn't happen, they will not return it to you. Like, in my case, the teacher didn't show up for a lesson, but I wasn't able to use trials anymore to schedule a lesson with some other teachers :/

What makes the Verbal Planet experience great for me? My tutors, of course. I am lucky enough to have found 4 excellent teachers who have helped me develop my abilities even (and especially) when I was totally lost and needed encouragement. Kudos and many thanks to those who have become friends and to Verbal Planet for making our work together easier.

I found VerbalPlanet on Google searching to take language lessons online. Upon visiting their website, it's a little cluttered at first glance and difficult to use.

And I was disappointed with the quality of the teachers available on the platform. It was not clear to me how the teachers were selected or what their qualifications were, and I did not feel confident in the quality of instruction I was receiving.

In my opinion, while the website has some useful features, but still, the cluttered interface and unclear quality of teachers make it difficult to use and not worth the time.

So helpful. I learnt a lot of new things which were all explained in a way i understood and can remember going forward

Lessons are easy to book, pay for and cancel if needed. Progress reporting for the tutor is also useful.

You have a good computer program to organize and recordkeep the lessons.

I tried applying with two emails. Both times I tried to login, it said ¨user with these credentials are not found.¨ I tried logging in probably 5 times with both emails, and it never worked. I could create a student account with no problem. What´s going on? Are y´all not hiring right now?

I am glad I found VerbalPlanet. It's very easy to use and allowed me to find the perfect Japanese teacher.

I am following Arabic lessons with Somaia and she is a great teacher. More over the online teaching offers an opportunity to learn from where ever you are. Quality and cost are also a good
