On Mar 19 I rented a car from Voyagerent. The person dropping off the car did not do a walk around with me. Then he charged my credit card 1200 euros. It was supposed to only be a hold, until the car was returned. A feww days later I learned they charged the full amount, telling me they would return it once I returned the car. When I returned the car, there was no damage. I took a video of the entire vehicle. They told me to leave it in the airport parking lot with key on the tire. Then I get a bill from them alleging that there was damage and charging me 950 euros. Total SCAMMMM!!!! DO NOT RENT A VEHICLE FROM THESE CROOKS!!!!!

Please, PLEASE do not rent a car from this company! This is how it works, nice prices put you on the hook, you find the car, (a search is required as their rep doesn't wear a uniform) and you then take a long video of the car as there are dents, scratches all over the place. You then have your credit card taken to ''block'' a deposit. You drive away and find the payment isn't blocked, it is deducted. You return the car with no additional damage to an unmanned corner of a yard and drop the keys in a box. The following day you receive an email saying you damaged the car and that the repair will cost.......yes you guessed it, the value of the deposit! A video taken showing the underside of the front of the car is Voyage's idea of proof. 63 emails later and you finally receive a before and after photo which doesn't show any additional damage. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE CAR RENTAL COMPANY!! I complained to my bank, gave them the evidence and thank goodness got my money back.

Very disappointing experience with Voyage Rent a Car.

The car was delivered at the airport, but the process felt rushed and I wasn’t given enough time to properly check the vehicle’s condition. The car itself had over 70,000 km and did not feel well maintained.

I was required to pay a €1200 deposit because I didn’t take their insurance, and this amount was taken from my account rather than held.

When returning the car, I was asked to leave it at the airport without any staff present to inspect it with me. A few hours later, I was contacted and told there was damage underneath the car, which I was not aware of. As a result, the full €1200 deposit was kept.

Based on my experience, the process felt unfair and lacking transparency. I would recommend others take extra caution and ensure everything is clearly documented when renting

I rented a vehicle from AVTOVOYAGE RENT S.L. (Voyagerent / Avtovoyage) at Alicante Airport in February 2026. This is not a complaint about bad service. This is a description of organised, organised fraud.

Before I even signed the rental contract, they permanently charged EUR 1,200 to my card as a purchase transaction, not as a pre-authorization hold as their own contract explicitly requires. The contract I was forced to sign online stated "0 damages". Their own photos, sent to me to locate the vehicle, clearly show pre-existing scratches on the bumper and damaged rims. They knew the car was damaged. They signed it off as perfect. That is not an oversight. That is the business model.

When I submitted photographic evidence disputing the claim, they responded in writing: "Thank you for the photos you provided, we reviewed them." The very next day, the same company wrote: "You have not provided any objective evidence. Such materials have not been submitted." Caught lying in their own emails.

I was travelling with three young children and four adults. I drove that car with extreme care. I returned it in the same condition I received it, which was already damaged before I touched it.

I have filed a formal criminal complaint with the Fiscalía Provincial de Valencia. A chargeback dispute is active with my bank. All documentation has been submitted to the Spanish prosecution authorities.

There are dozens of victims describing the exact same pattern: same airport, same "0 damages" contract, same fake charges.

THIEVES!!!!

After over 20 years of hiring cars from different companies in Alicante I can say this is the worst company to hire from. They have no depot and bring the car to Departures area for handover. They did not provide a vehicle condition report and the car had over 208000 kms on the clock. Nobody was available to check the car on return and we had to leave the keys in a box. The next day they fictitiously claimed we had done 900 Euros damage to the front and rear bumpers which were already badly damaged when we first got the car. I had taken photos all around before departing but not of the underside of the bumpers. I have since learnt from reading other reviews that this unseen minor damage(relative to the rest of the car) is what they claim to falsely charge unsuspecting customers ridiculous repair bills. If Economy Bookings offer them as an option avoid them at all costs. Just a complete scam!!

I arrived at night to pick up my car from Voyage Cars. There was no one there to assist me, and no damage report was provided with the vehicle. The car already had visible damage, and it was so dark I had to take the best possible photos I could under poor lighting. I sent these pictures to them at the time.
Now that I’m back in Alicante, the car is in exactly the same condition as when I picked it up. Yet, there is still no one present to check the vehicle back in. The driver who was supposed to pick me up is nowhere to be seen, and I’m left wondering how I’ll get to my flight on time.
I am also worried that I’m going to be unfairly charged for damage. I’ve tried to record everything thoroughly, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they try to find something and bill me for it.
I would strongly advise never using Voyage Cars. Their service is unprofessional, their vehicles often have pre-existing damage, and they provide no proper handover or return process. Avoid this company if you can—there are plenty of other rental options that are far more reliable and accountabl

Stay away from this company, they scam you out of your deposit and attribute damage to the car that isn't there. They don't inspect the car when you drop it off, and then they email you saying they've found damage but have already taken your entire deposit.

One day before the return, I was informed that they would not be able to accept the car in person and was instructed to leave it in a parking area near the train station instead. This meant there was no opportunity for a joint inspection at the time of return.

After returning the car as instructed, I was later charged €750 for alleged damages — despite the fact that no issues were identified or communicated at the time of return, and no signed return report exists.

Only afterwards, I received several videos via WhatsApp. These videos do not clearly show any actual damage — it is impossible to distinguish whether it is dirt or minor marks, and there is no verifiable timestamp or evidence that these “damages” were not pre-existing.

The so-called damage report appears to have been created unilaterally after the rental, without my presence or confirmation.

This raises serious concerns about the fairness and transparency of their process.

After researching further, I discovered that many other customers report very similar experiences with this company. There are numerous complaints online, and even a Facebook group where people share cases of disputed charges and questionable practices.

This does not look like an isolated incident.

I strongly advise anyone considering renting from this company to be extremely cautious. Make full photo and video documentation of the car at pickup and return — otherwise you may face unexpected and unjustified charges like I did.

I would give -10 if possible. The worst experience ever in my life. They are scammers all the way. It is the same scenario: communication through what app, they do not have an office I'm the airport. They are scamming you in the first day as they will request to make a deposit of 1200 euro which in fact is a transaction from day one. This is a fraud. At the end of your rental period they will send some information to leave the car in a saggy parking with no one there. After a few hours they will send you some videos from under the car to charge you from scratches. Of course the so called damage is 1200 euro. When you realise that there wasn't a deposit as the contract and the reservation says, it is a bit to late. AVOID at all COST as this is the BIGGEST SCAMMING car rental company in Europe. Even using damage from underneath the cars who are all old with lots of mileage. Ridiculously high damages fees. Never an employee at pick up and delivery and no documents of car status in your presence. So you are scammed from the first minutes. Key on the front tire trick in the parking of the airport’s of Valencia and Alicante. Hundreds of scammed customers who they check upfront to scam if they live in Spain or not who then don’t complaint officially in Spain. But not all are non residents !!!!

Avoid at all cost - scammers took €1200 euro deposit even if you have full insurance. They also work in line with Economy Bookings .com again scammers.

Rented a car from Alicante airport. They took the deposit as a payment not as a pre authorised payment which we had not realised until later that day.
We took video evidence and pictures of the entire car upon pick up and drop off.
We returned the car undamaged. Then were sent videos of scratches on the car 24 hours later. We returned them our videos and photographs but were told sun glare on our videos stopped the scratches from showing which is 100% untrue. We rented a Skoda Octavia 7091NCT incase anyone else has had the same car we could compare these supposed “ scratches”!!

Not refund deposit made false damages crooks should be in prison

I had a great experience with this company, very professional and efficient, the car was in good condition and the return process was very smooth. I would recommend it to everyone.

Do NOT touch this company with a barge pole! I am currently €1,200 down for damage they say I did to the underneath of the car. I did NOT do the damage to the car. I have asked for video evidence of the underneath of the car on the day I picked it up as this must be standard practice, however after repeated requests they have NOT provided it!!! Reading on here I am NOT the only ones they have done this to. The car was a Citroen 0717 MTR. Ronnie

Don’t use this company, they are scammers and fraudsters. They will either sell you insurance at €20 per day or find something wrong with the car on its return and keep your €1200 deposit. Despite taking photos on collection and return they found a small scratch under the front bumper, out of sight…. It’s a con and a scam.

After arriving at 6pm from an early flight then you would expect to be given a fantastic service… NOT EVEN IN THE SLIGHTEST!!!
Getting some random WHATSAPP MESSAGE to tell us to go and find our own car in a huge car park IN THE PITCH BLACK.
LET ALONE THE FACT IT HAD DENTS AND PAINT CHIPS AND LOW TYRE PRESSURES WITH BARELY ANY FUEL IN THE TANK.

we drove it 4 times.
Once from the airport, once to the airport. Then to, and from, a beach.
Simple as, didn’t park it anywhere where there was a curb in-front of the bumper.

Somebody now please explain why these scummy pieces of filth are now trying to to say there is damage to the UNDERSIDE of the vehicle… specifically the BUMPER WHICH COULDNT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE AT ALL.

Taken my deposit of € 1,200.
Saying it’s going to cost € 4,082 in damages overall.

SCAM!!! Stole my 1200€ after accusing me of damaging underneath the car. To begin with there wasn’t even anyone there to greet us, they had left the key on a tire - no one to check the car prior. Same for when we dropped the car off, no one there just had to leave it, no checks. Less than 24 hours after we returned the car, they refused to give us our deposit for 1200€ back and said we had done 4000€ of damage!!! We most certainly hadn’t. They stole from us - DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM THESE PEOPLE
