I was actually excited to try Waymo now that it’s rolled out in Houston—but honestly, this has been a frustrating experience.
These cars are constantly driving through my neighborhood, yet apparently I’m not allowed to use the service because it’s “invitation only.” That makes zero sense from a customer perspective. How is it that others have access, but I can’t even get added?
I even reached out through chat and spoke with a manager. She was polite, but ultimately couldn’t help at all or provide any real solution. No timeline, no clarity—nothing. Couldn’t even add me to the waiting list.
It’s disappointing to see a service so visible and hyped, yet completely inaccessible to people who actually want to use it. For now, I’ll stick with Uber.
