Thank you for sharing feedback about your recent experience and for choosing webuyanycar.com to sell your 2004 Ford Econoline E250. We're sorry that we fell short of the five-star experience we strive to provide to all of our customers.
While we do provide an online valuation estimate for the convenience of our customers, this is based on the limited information you tell us about the vehicle. It is not a substitute for a physical appraisal, and we always do it before we make a final offer.
The appraisal process includes physical and mechanical checks of the vehicle, running a vehicle history check through providers such as Experian or CARFAX, and we run OBDII diagnostics on the vehicle to check for any engine or drivetrain issues. If the appraisal finds any issues with the car, these are always considered part of our final offer.
Our leadership team launched a full investigation, reviewing the detailed notes, photos and videos of the vehicle. It was determined that the vehicle had additional damage that was not disclosed ahead of time. These were big ticket items that couldn’t be overlooked. The check engine light was illuminated and when we hooked up an industry-standard OBD reader to the vehicle’s computer it returned a variety of troubling engine codes. This meant the vehicle was end-of-life. Unfortunately, when we find damage of this nature, we must factor that in when making our firm offer.
