I don't know how it is legal but they charged me another overdraft fee after the account was brought into the positive. I looked over the overdraft policy and there was no reason for another overdraft charge on this account. Ultimately just closed my account after 15 years.

There customer service is non-existent unless you have a lot of money at this bank. Their parking lot at the branches I go at is almost always empty. Amazing how this bank how managed to stay in business when there are so many other better banks out there.

P.S. I would get my money out of this bank before it goes under. Wouldn't surprise me if it happens soon

I am a small business owner and quite honestly Wesbanco has lost its way in providing customer service. They are a while of reasons why I say this. First they closed my business line of credit. Apparently my old loan rep left ? Don’t know no one ever contacted me until I received a litter saying they were closing my account because I hadn’t provided the information I asked for. No one had asked for anything apparently they had turned my account over to someone else and this person never contacted me. Then they started that business of when you used bill pay the check automatically went out of your account before the client you send the check to cash it. Then if the client doesn’t cash it they return it to you size ninths later. They they keep closing offices. I used two offices Butler pa and Shadyside in Pittsburgh. The Pittsburgh one had a drive through parking etc. they closed that one and through other branches I learned they transferred my accounts to the strip a notoriously poor are for parking and they have no parking there. Then they start this thing were they want to reject my checks I am presenting because they are made out to an my DBA name. All my accounts at other jnstitutiona accept these checks. Wesbanco did till
6 months ago. They also got rid of all their coin counting machines. And the list goes on. Wesbanco is an institution where few of the employees have any drive. They will
Take your business but they won’t work to keep it. Go to another bank

This bank preys on the poor. They allowed $715 to come out of my account without my permission and would not let me dispute it. From that point on I have had trouble getting back on track. They keep charging me fees and when I make the account positive, they make it negative with more fees. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) often categorizes these punitive, compounding costs as "junk fees" and has targeted them for being deceptive and excessive, but they are not illegal. After 20 years with "this" bank, since it was Community Bank, this is how I'm treated. How will they treat you?

Horrible customer service. I switched to a lower rate on my mortgage at another bank. WesBanco signed for the payoff check on Dec. 23, and then lost it! Not just lost it, but lost it and couldn't even track it down - a check for $300,000 lost by a BANK!! I am not even convinced they lost it, as they then withdrew my regular mortgage payment on Jan. 2, and eventually only returned $1000 of the $2700 or so they took out. Multiple requests for a clear accounting of why they kept $1700 were met with "I checked and we paid the town taxes". Well, the numbers do not add up. It seems possible that they deliberately "lost" the check, in order to obfuscate extra charges. So, best case: horrible customer service and very incompetent staff. Worst case: fraudulent. I am done with them, but at least I can leave this love note.

WesBanco bought my mortgage account and their website is horrible. They try to push you into opening a checking account you don't want to use the online payments. No reason for it, just a shameless attempt at forcing services you don't want on you

I'm a fraud investigator. I have evidence of some Wesbanco accounts being hacked. I tried to contact the company through various email addresses but got no reply. No way to look after your customers.

Offered me a promo to sign up for a new account with direct deposits. I did so, carefully ensuring that I filled everything out (including promo code). Now after the allotted time for them to pay out the bonus, nothing. I contact them and am told I didn’t sign up for the promo (incorrect) and their system shows no code (not something I can control). They tell me “a lot of people have been complaining about this” on the phone but that they can’t help me. They recently could fix this for all their complaints but “marketing took it away”. So they know they had a problem with this promotion and they know I signed up at that time and met their requirements, and they simply say I should have complained sooner. Bad faith for an institution you really want to be able to trust. Not a good feeling to start off a banking relationship. I’ll close my account and call it a day, but what a waste for us both.
