Can’t recommend highly enough and well worth the 3 and a half hour drive down for new skates 🙈

I started out phoning for some advice as I was going to order from their online store and spoke with Pete on the phone who couldn’t have been more helpful and knowledgeable about boots and what I might want to look at. He offered to do a virtual fitting for me and also to bring some boots up to Dumfries in December if I could wait that long but said my best bet would be a trip down.

I made the trip today and was fitted for a new pair of Risport RF3 by Gary who was really helpful and advised on skates based on my foot shape. I had originally thought another brand but Gary explained why they wouldn’t suit and sorted me out with the skates I bought. I’m glad he did as I probably would have ended up regretting an online purchase based on other advice I’d had.

Pete then advised on blades, fit them and sharpened them ready for me to takeaway that same day. His knowledge was second to none and so much better than anything I’d had at any other shop I’ve tried so far. On top of that they’re all a really lovely bunch and I would make the trip in a heartbeat again if I need anything else. Thanks everyone!

I purchased skates on-line and unfortunately, I ordered the wrong size. I had no trouble getting in touch with Alison, who helped me with the return and shipment of the correct size, all taken care o within a matter of days. I am very pleased with my purchase and will certainly purchase from her again.

Excellent thoroughly professional service. Time was taken to accurately measure my granddaughter's feet and evaluate which boot would be the best fit for her, explaining the reasoning behind the evaluation and the possible options that would be suitable for her. The boots were recommended solely on the suitability for her specific requirements and no attempt was ever made to persuade her to purchase any more expensive option. In my opinion, the service is first class and highly recommended.

Amazing service from Peter - I visited to purchase my first ever pair of figure skates and he was really informative and gave me lots of options. He really explained how to ensure skates fit properly and how to look after them. I am quite new to skating so this was very useful and much appreciated! Great service and lovely staff.

I visited Al’s skate shop for the first time today as I needed a new pair of skates and they were so helpful! We tried a few boots after measuring until I was happy with a pair and overall they were friendly and provided lots of tips.

They also have skate sharpening services which is always handy!

Been Using AL's Skate Shop for about 3 years. been in to the shop 3 times in the last week. 1st time to get my Daughter some new Ice skates as she had out grown her last ones. Pete spent as much time as was need with her to make sure she got exactly the right skate for her needs. While we where there I mentioned to Pete that my Skates didn't seem to breaking in, Pete suggested I bring them in and have them heat moulded to fit. Took the skates in Pete spent a good hour or so moulding the skates to suit and making sure I was completely satisfied with them. Got a sharpen while I was there.
We have been back today as I finally talked the wife into getting a new pair of skates. As usual nothing was to much trouble, left with a new set of skates, bag etc. and a happy wife.
Highly recommend the team up in Blackpool wouldn't shop for Ice Skates any where else.

Amazing service! I bought my first pair of ice skates from Al’s skate shop today, the service was excellent, really helpful and professional staff with lots of knowledge. Helped me pick out the perfect skates and were happy to share lots of tips and advice, nothing was too much trouble! I will definitely be back and can highly recommend!

Don't bother going anywhere else. Alison and her team give an A1 service particularly of you need fitting or advice. She actually sold us a cheaper pair òf boots than we went in for because they suited my daughters ankles better, I've never forgotten that and never go anywhere else.

Advice from pete regarding my skates was second to none highly recommend, went from half inch grind to 5/8

I travelled a couple of hours to come and get my feet measured for some better fitting figure boots and I was not disappointed! My previous skates were causing me pain and within minutes we found out why and found me some perfectly fitting skates - they were even heat moulded and sharpened for free whilst I waited. Will definitely be back when I next need something!! The staff are so friendly and knowledgable and will spend the time to find you your perfect skates and will provide honest opinions on which skates will be better for you.

Ordered my first set of hockey gear from here, had plenty of help over the phone with choosing the right stuff and getting the sizing right! Big thanks to Angela for all the help! Will be ordering from here again!

We’ve been customers of this shop for the last 10 years and Al, Pete and their team have always been brilliant. I only popped in last week to have my daughter’s skate sharpened and we enquired about new skates. As always Al went above and beyond for us in helping to source them -thank you!

The quality of service and range of products at Als Skate Shop is phenomenal! Nothing is too much trouble! If you need something they are the people to help!
