More hassle than I’ve had before.

This seems like a lot of hassle having to go online create this License Summary, as well as send a picture of my license and a picture of a recent utility bill (which are becoming less frequent as we’re going paperless) and then proof of no claims as recent years the insurance company have got from the previous company. I am trying to do this at home where I currently have no computer just phone and tablet, so had a reply saying you couldn’t view the documents as they were in the wrong format (I thought it showed they were in the correct one). If nothing happens insurance is effectively money for nothing so I’d have thought Wicked could have made this process less hassle and done some of the work. It has taught me a valuable lesson as every year I go on line to get the best quotes and save a few pounds but it might be worth not trying to save that and stick with the better known insurance companies as they this is the most work I’ve had to do after buying insurance.

Wicked Quotes was by far the cheapest…

Wicked Quotes was by far the cheapest quote I received as a new learner rider. Signing up was an easy process online and they contacted me within an hour to ensure I was happy with the quote and if there was anything I needed to discuss with them about the quote. When I had to call them they were quick to answer the phone and very helpful. So far I'm very happy.

Motorcycle insurance

Dreadful experience filled all the forms in online ,checked the details but I did not realise that you can't see if you have protected your NCD ,thought I had only to find after I bought the policy it was not the case ,they wanted to charge me £1.62 to add it to the policy wich is not due to start for a few days and also £11.00 fee for doing it, told them I would cancel the quote / policy, then told they would only give me half my money back even though the policy had not started and it was day 2 of the 14 day cooling off period, in the end they relented and only charged me £1.62 ,will not be using then in the future

There is a question in the quote journey regarding the option of protecting your NCD. We are double-checking to make sure this is very clear for customers. As you have mentioned, due to this, we did wave our admin fee and the remaining amount is purely the amount the insurer charges for protecting the NCD and would have been included in the original quoted amount. Hope this clarifies the things.

So far I am really impressed 5* for ease of setting up my policy and helpfulness from the staff. My previous policy jumped by over 35% when it was due for renewal and these guys are very competitive.

I had a quote and thought it was great compared to the other quotes then i saw the excess which is why they are so cheap until you try to bring this down, then when i've sent all my documents i have to cancel so for 2 day they charge me £70 something.
ive now just looked at the reviews for the company and by the sound of it its how they do business.

Too your reply yes you are correct thanks for stating that fact, I was talking about how you get you free money from customer.

Plus you still haven't refunded my money it's funny how you can take the money within second but can't return it straight away!

If you want to reply again maybe repay the money first and that way your reply might seem like your company isn't just taking peoples money

We have investigated your case and can see that you took out the policy through Compare the Market.

You were required to state how many years No Claims Bonus you have.

At this stage you agreed to the following statement:-
“This should be the amount of NCB you’ll have when this policy starts. This must be earned in the UK from a private motorbike policy, can’t be used for more than one policy at a time or is not being used on another vehicle and can’t be more than 2 years old.”

When proceeding to make payment through our website you agreed to the following statement:-
“I have 9 Years Motorcycle No Claims Bonus that has been earned in the UK in the last 2 years and is not in use on another policy (Proof of NCB will be requested)”.

This is the declaration you agreed to before the system allowed you to proceed to payment. It is important that all the information provided is accurate, otherwise this could invalidate your insurance. You were subsequently unable to provide evidence to support the above statement.

Our Terms of Business Agreement, which is accepted prior to payment and policy activation, outlines all applicable fees. Please note that even during the 14-day cooling-off period, charges will apply for the duration the policy was active, along with any relevant cancellation fees.

Avoid...

So, firstly the person i was talking today, I dont think she knew the things i was asking.

Second if you sell your bike, you have 7 days to buy a new one. Now the weird part is this, if you tell them you sold the bike, you are still liable of the bike until you buy a new bike OR cancel the insurance. SO this tells this : you dont have 7 days. If you do tell them you are still liable on the sold bike if they do accident. IF you do not tell them same thing applies. So i guess the question is, do you wanna limit yourself to 7 days? Because the result of the process is still the same.

AS i used them a the moment, i would recommend avoiding using them. Every single thing is money. If they werent shy answering calls would be money too.. seriusly so annoyed

We’d like to clarify our policy regarding the sale of a motorcycle currently covered under an active policy. When you notify us that your motorcycle has been sold, our underwriters provide a limited period in which to update the policy. This allows you the opportunity to either update your policy with a new motorcycle or proceed with cancellation—helping you avoid additional charges such as cancellation and setup fees.

The Motor Insurance Database will also still show you as being insured on this vehicle until such a time that you give us instruction to cancel the policy or replace the motorcycle on the policy with a different one.

Hence liability may still fall to you if an incident occurs involving the motorcycle after it has been sold. Should the new owner be involved in an incident, any potential claim could mistakenly be linked to your active policy as your insurance details will still be showing.

Firstly the quoted price was very good…

Firstly the quoted price was very good so was accepted.
Then the crunch unlike other insurance companies.
An email requesting proof of no claims.
A utility bill or bank statement as proof of address.
NI number if you cannot show past licence history from the government website.
Front of your driving licence.
Your concerns will be the same as mine. Id fraud etc.
Haven't returned my documents at the min.
You can make your mind up on this one!

The NI number will only be required if you can't get a share code. If you are able to get a counterpart code from the DVLA yourself and share that with us, we won't need the NI number.

We are currently reviewing the processes you've mentioned and we hope to soon have a system in place where customers won't have to send us a copy of their driving licence.

Absolutely dreadful

Absolutely dreadful, tried to cancel within hours, paid a full year up front they tried to tell me all I would get back was 20 quid, guy on the phone was soooo rude. Ombudsman getting involved. Annoying thing was I'd have cancelled earlier but they weren't open, called Churchill they were open signed straight up with them

Quick and Helpful

Used “The Bike Insurer” to get a quote. Wicked was the cheapest. Clicked the link to go their site, filled everything out, submitted and paid for it and the next day lovely chap called me to confirm policy was in place. Brilliant!

Renewal quote from Wicked higher than Confused?

Renewal quote from Wicked was pricey but Confused came back with them as best price and £85 cheaper. The paperwork demands are onerous and I missed that you have to scan your licence as well as send the DVLC licence link/report and proof of no claims. As you need your NI number DOB address to access it and share with the insurer I think its overkill. Nice staff on the phone if a little slow and put on hold. They use two email addresses which makes finding your replies and documents difficult for the admin team. Please review your processes. Overall very happy.

I found this company on a comparison site.

I found this company on a comparison site and thought I'll go with them as they are very competitive with their pricing, the only slight downside is they require quite a lot of extra information of you. EG, proof of NCB, photos of your driving licence and utility bill proof as well. But to be fair it went well for me with a response that they had received all the the required information but I did feel uneasy sending sensitive information to a strange sounding email address.
