Systematic Support Gaslighting, Calculated Incompetence, Exhausting Delay Tactics & Absolute Hell

I am 20 days into a support nightmare that has crippled my business. What began as a minor BAA clerical error has turned into a total failure of service. I have been shuffled through 10+ case numbers, forced to set up temporary domains, and rotate through THREE different Enterprise accounts just to keep my practice alive while Google "investigates."

The "support" is a masterclass in delay tactics. My chat histories are a graveyard of agents asking me the same five questions I have already answered in ten previous tickets. They use "let me look into this" as a scripted way to ghost me for 72 hours at a time, only to return and selectively answer one minor question while completely ignoring the critical technical issues I raised. I was promised a "Concierge Migration" that never happened and billing credits that never arrived. Agents like "Jessemae" and "Asfiyamol" hide behind "business hours" excuses to avoid calling me, yet they send these stalling emails during my active work day.

I have officially lost all faith. My formal Legal Notice of Rescission sent on March 21st was ignored. Yesterday was spent in a grueling attempt to recover "shadow files" from my local drive because Google has frozen my access to critical student IEPs and legal data. I am now forced to hire a private IT professional this week to do the technical job that I pay Google Workspace to do. Google doesn't provide support; they provide a loop of broken automated links and calculated incompetence.

Expérience globalement frustrante

Mon expérience avec Google Workspace a été globalement frustrante.

Le service en lui-même fonctionne, mais la gestion des abonnements manque de clarté. Il est difficile de modifier son offre ou de trouver facilement les bonnes options dans l’interface. Certaines démarches simples, comme passer à une formule moins chère, ne sont pas accessibles directement et nécessitent de contacter le support.

Cela donne une impression de complexité inutile, surtout pour les utilisateurs individuels ou les petites structures.

Je pense que le service gagnerait à être plus transparent et plus simple d’utilisation, notamment sur la partie facturation et gestion des abonnements.

Impossible! bad vibes from the start

Really concerning that when I tried to apply - the monthly amount then went up. It also says plus Tax but doesn't actually give a definitive answer. Non-existent help and a chatbot that knows nothing! I then read these reviews! How can a company so successful be so bad on this front??! We are a charity who heavily use GDrive currently. It made sense to get workspace. We will now be looking elsewhere unless anyone can give me a good reason for staying?!

I cancelled and deleted this service…and am STILL Paying for it!!!

I cancelled and deleted this service (email, domain and all). Or so I thought so. Then I got an annual automatic deduction from my bank account for $71.01 for the Google WorkSpace that I'm not using (because I cancelled it before!). Now I'm on day 9 of emailing different Google departments, all of which say that they can't help me because 'its not their department,' and I'm redirected to the awful, NOT HELPFUL "Google Workspace Support page." There is no way to talk to anyone, no email address, and I do NOT have access to the admin console anymore or anything at all. It is absolutely the worst customer service ever, and I will never EVER go back to them. They do people dirty after you sign up, so don't do it!

Every single Google Workspace support employee is an outsourced rep who speaks zero English and has zero technical understanding. I truly cannot believe how bad my experience has been with this company, and I will never, ever use them for business email servers in the future.

Google Workspace - big mistake

I thought I made a mistake that I purchased google workspace because I thought the basic plan includes ai functions with all the google docs, but it didn't. Somehow they managed to mislead me in the pitch.

Then I wanted a refund back from bluehost, the host that hosts google workspace - they said not refund.

Then you won't believe but I failed at the step of migrating my business email to google. Meaning after I waited 3 business days "playing" with the DNS to try to meet the support requirements, nothing happened.

Meaning I wasted 3 days time, email availabilty and 42$.

Good luck to you google.

Truly Unreal, Dystopian "Customer Service" Model

Locked out of your admin account? There is --nothing-- you can do. That's right: nothing. The only way to contact support is to log in to the admin console. Find their number by asking Gen AI to crawl the internet to find wherever its buried? When you call in, they ask for a pin you can only get--you guessed it--after logging in to the admin console. They will keep billing you, mind you, and how do you think you cancel your subscription? By logging in to the admin console you can't access.

Borderline scam. Avoid at all costs for small business.

I upgraded to Google Workspace Business…

I upgraded to Google Workspace Business Standard expecting the advertised 2 TB storage per user. After purchasing, I discovered that new accounts remain limited to 300 GB until a $30 billing threshold is reached.

This requirement is mentioned in documentation but is not clearly communicated during the purchase process, which can be confusing for new customers.

Dross

Trying to sign up for Google Workspace was an absolute nightmare. So much for being the "easy" option. You can't even sign up for the plan level you want, you have to sign up to a more expensive one then navigate a complicated system to downgrade. Then to cancel you have to click cancel buttons about 5 times and enter your admin email address, just an abusive practice and I have been permanently lost as a business customer before I've even signed up. Avoid.

Dr Yvan Ducheine

Dr. Yvan Ducheine was extremely gentle throughout my procedure. He took the time to sit with me and thoroughly explain every detail, ensuring I felt comfortable and well-informed. He was very understanding and made it clear that no question was a “stupid” question.

Dr. Ducheine is a great listener, compassionate, and attentive. Even after the procedure, he frequently checked on me to make sure I was doing well.

I would highly recommend Dr. Ducheine to friends, family — and even my enemies!

locked subscription

I was literally locked into a hidden service with no visible cancellation option anywhere on my account. The customer support? Absolutely nonexistent. For one of the biggest companies in the world, this level of service is beyond shameless. I literally had to cancel my physical credit card just to stop them from charging me because I couldn't get a single response from a human being. If they were human being they just tell you they can't do anything with an indian accent and ask for a good review for their service lol. But the absolute best part? Now that my card is blocked, they suddenly have no problem spamming me with weekly payment reminders. What an absolute joke. Avoid at all costs.

I'd go Lower but it doesnt allow a 0 stars. easy to get into with all kinds of support, next to impossible to get out of with Zero support. getting billed for my domain, but when I try to log into my domain it says it doesnt exist. then when I try to get support it asks if I want to reach out to community as it doesnt support any live support for this action. WTF!! do not in any way bother with this BS

Utter garbage

Utter garbage. Completely jumbling, confusing user interface. Forced me to buy a plan for like $30 a month CAD. Charged me $17 for a yearly domain then when I cancelled the plan I couldn’t access the domain but they also didn’t refund me for it either and I couldn’t contact support because I wasn’t on a plan anymore so I couldn’t even get support, absolute garbage and trash.

Unhelpful support & subscription increase 100%

Completely unhelpful support. Live chat for 40 mins. Passed to different agents/departments 4 times only to say "we can't help, speak to Google support (they don't have a chat support function). What am I paying for? All this and the cost of a subscription has increased 100% in 2 years 😂 absolute joke

Absolute nightmare and not easy to cancel!!!!

Absolute nightmare to try to cancel!!!!! No way to find where to cancel!!!!! spent 2 hours trying to find how to cancel my domain I bought from workspace and remove my credit card information.

Imagine buying a service and there is no way to reach human customer service and no way to cancel. Also odd numbers what they are about to charge next and there is no where to find what the number is about. Cancelled my credit card and ordered a new one, no dime is charged from me. Never had such a bad experience, unbeliavable there is no option to cancel.

Chromebook user beware of the catastrophic 'fused account'.

OK. If you are reading this, you have probably already been through the mill. I feel for you.

IF YOU HAVE A CHROMEBOOK AND HAVE NOT SET UP A WORKSPACE ACCOUNT, PLEASE HEED THIS WARNING:

IF YOU ARE LOGGED IN ON YOUR CHROMEBOOK USING A PERSONAL GOOGLE ACCOUNT AND THEN SET UP A GOOGLE WORKSPACE, YOU RUN A BIG RISK OF CREATING A FUSED GOOGLE ACCOUNT.

If you set up a workspace account and login to that new workspace profile, you will always be treated by Google as an organisation. This 'organisational' profile has numerous differences to your normal personal profile. It is a completely separate profile to a personal 'gmail' profile - as if it's a different entity.

A fused account occurs when your workspace profile subsumes your personal account with a Gmail address. I.e. it treats your personal email address as pert of your organisational profile. It uses your personal address as an alternate login name with the SAME password as the workspace login.

The key problem I had was the loss of access to some files to all the apps on my Chromebook. I was logged out of my Chromebook. When I logged back in using my old personal email address and password, I was forced onto my workspace profile. My existing Chromebook profile was not visible. I was unable to see or access downloads or any apps that had purchased and downloaded. I was lucky because I was still able to see my personal Gmail in my workspace profile. I could also see my Google drive under the fused profile.

IT CAN BE FIXED. Don't pay someone to fix it. This is something that only Google know how to fix - even though you personally have to do all the work.

If you have a fused account, or you even suspect it, go to Workspace Help in your google admin account and type 'I WANT TO SPEAK TO A REAL PERSON FOR HELP WITH A FUSED ACCOUNT'. It may ask you to clarify one additional time - it did with me. But I was quickly put through to a Google team member in the chat.

The first set of steps of the fix take about 20 minutes. But then you have to wait 24 hours so that those steps propagate through the google-verse. The next day there is about another 15 minutes of work to do. You can't use or your old profile until you go through the fix process.

Don't waste your time trying to fix it with AI. I spent a day with copilot and was ultimately given the disastrous recommendation to power wash (factory reset) my Chromebook. This meant that I lost some files. I spent another day with paid Gemini. But both models took me down similar rabbit holes. Don't waste your time. Just go straight to workspace help.

I didn't want to mention the steps of the fix in this post because I don't want people like me, who are new to Google admin, to attempt their own fix. I foresee a real risk of losing data and a risk of losing your personal email address - mine is an old 7 character address which I'd never get back. Also, I believe that account fusing could result in different outcomes to the one I experienced. But if you really want to know, the fix for me was to create a whole new user in the fused workspace account and then assign super admin rights to that user. Then I changed the new user to the primary admin. THen I had to wait 24 hours for the primary admin change to propagate. The next day I logged in as the new user with primary admin. Then I removed the original primary user. This forced the split of my personal email from the workspace account. I recommend saving data unless you have not used the workspace profile at all.

I don't recommend that you attempt to fix it yourself.

At the time of writing this, I have not logged back into my workspace account - which I do intend to use. eek.
