Abeka Book Reviews 5

Firstly, Abeka is a Christian focused homeschool/private school curriculum and if you want these ideals professionally instilled in your children, then Abeka is the way! We are only a few months into the accredited [DVD] K5 Abeka Academy (homeschool) program and this is also our first time homeschooling. The program is very structured and I am extremely impressed with the organization and quality of the teacher's manuals, the DVD lessons, and the student textbooks. The DVDs are in order of lessons and appear to be brand new with no problems on playback, thus far. Abeka's curriculum content is plenty thorough and we have not even used another competitor's online curriculum that we purchased, assuming it was necessary as supplementation. I also thought I would be leading most of the instruction, but after watching 20+ lessons of Mrs. Turner, the K5 teacher, I realized she is MUCH more qualified! So I am satisfied serving as teaching "assistant." I cannot speak to the grading system, yet, as we have not mailed anything off. I hope everything runs smoothly once we do! That said, my only complaint would be that I wish Abeka included more supplemental teacher/student materials and supplies for the lessons. They do sell items separately, online, but I do not enjoy digging through online stores. Ultimately, expect to spend roughly 4-6 hours per day for this program. If you do not like structure, then it may not be for you!

They do not operate with the biblical values that they claim to follow. I truly believe this company is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. They are currently on my credit report as a collection due to me not paying a balance after cancelling over the phone with them. They are not great to do business with and their courses are very low quality. I would not recommend using them. Study.com is a much better option. Don’t trust them. They are very unorganized and potentially scammers in my opinion. I will update all of my reviews if they address this with me and make it right.

Say away from this company, when I tried to return the stuff, they kept my refund hostage for over a week and wen they refunded me they kept almost $200. The issue is still not resolved, no matter how many complaints I put through BBB, and contacted the company. Please avoid shopping here to save the headache

but it still gets boring.

this is a great homeschool curriculum but you must stay focused because it can get boring after a while
