New EV from Alan Ford

Just bought a new EV from Alan Ford, James guided me through the process and answered all my questions (there were many) as it was my first EV. His knowledge on the products was exceptional and anyone thinking of getting a Ford EV go and speak to James, first class and highly recommended. The other support staff were also very helpful and worth a mention, a very professional and highly quality dealership. 10/10

Well where do i start with Allen Ford…

Well where do i start with Allen Ford Swindon.
Picked a mustang mach e up from them on the 4th July. Beautiful looking car. Advertised as having a glass roof on advert but on viewing found it hadn't. No major problem but that should have been a warning. Anyway, we collected the car and we asked Gill how to set up the Ford App as she was just happy to let us drive off. She sat in the car and explained what to do but it wouldnt connect. She advised that it must be my Phone. We said ok we will try it later. She asked us if we could hang on as we had the ceramic coating on the car and you get a bag with all shampoo and stuff in it, again we said no problem. We then connected the car when we got home to find that the climate control on the app could not connect to the car. We tried different phones and all we had was warning lights and the horn kept going off. We called Allen ford and explained that the car wasnt connecting. They advised that as we were in our 30 day window we could take the car to a garage near us as we are based in the Midlands, so we did. They did a diagnostic and advised that the 12v battery would need to be disconnected to reset the system which cost us £54.00. Hooraaaay... it worked so i drove away. Later that day it wasnt working, Called Allen Ford Swindon again and they said that the general manager Ian Sharp (charming man) would call me, which he did. Explained the situation again, he then said the car is fine its a software issue. He didnt quite grasp that the software is part of the car bless him. They then did a remote diagnostic themselves and found there to be a pre conditioning issue. So fair play to him he arranged for the car to be picked up on the 15th July and taken back to Swindon to be looked at. He then called to say that there wasnt any fault and the car is working fine. bear in mind that this is a general manager talking. I said your not grasping this are you. The app isnt communicating with the car correctly as theres something in the car system not working............. His response....... well i dont use the app anyway i just drive (bess him). When they read this im sure they will comment below and say..... we hadnt got to collect the car..blah blah blah and the software isnt part of the car, well.....it is. And please be aware that we paid a £500.00 deposit which Gill FORGOT to take off the final invoice. Luckily we noticed a few days later and she reimbursed us..... 7 days later. Honestly joke of a place. Buyers beware!!!!!!

poor service

Brought a Van from Ford, 3 weeks in it is now in Ford having broken down on a Live Lane on the motorway.

Being told by Ford, it will be 2 months until my van is fixed at the moment, which is crazy as its not even been a month in my ownership.

The hire vehicle I have been given in replacement is Manual (supposed to be the same) and has no air con which in this heat is horrendous and the van smells of previous drivers body odour.

I bought a car from Allen Ford Nuneaton…

I bought a car from Allen Ford Nuneaton outright with cash, and within an hour of driving it away, multiple warning lights appeared on the dashboard, including ABS failure, AWD overheating, and tyre pressure sensor failure.

I called the dealership immediately and was told they couldn’t book the car into the service department for another two and a half weeks. This was completely unacceptable for a car I had owned for less than an hour. I returned to the dealership to reject the car because I had no confidence in it or the level of service I was receiving. I was told there was nothing wrong with it in the morning when they took it to the petrol station. Thankfully, they eventually agreed to inspect it the following Monday.

Throughout the repair process, I had to chase the dealership for updates because nobody contacted me. Every time the car was in for repairs, I was the one calling to find out what was happening.

After getting the car back, I discovered the serpentine belt was slipping while driving, so it had to go back in again. Once again, I had to chase for updates due to the complete lack of communication.

After that repair, the service light came on, along with the tyre pressure sensor warning again, despite this supposedly having already been repaired. I was then told I couldn’t get another appointment for three and a half weeks.

Today, I dropped the car off at 8:30am. As expected, I received no updates all day, so I called at around 4:30pm. I was told the work had been “declined”, despite the car having sat at the dealership all day. I was promised a call back within five minutes to explain what had happened. Thirty minutes later, I still hadn’t heard anything, so I went to the dealership in person.

Ironically, as I walked into the showroom, I received a notification on my phone stating that my car had only just been “checked in” at 4:50pm, despite having dropped it off over eight hours earlier.

I was then told the fault wasn’t covered under warranty and would cost over £100 to repair, although the manager said they would cover the cost. However, nobody could clearly explain what the fault actually was. If the issue genuinely wasn’t covered by the warranty, why weren’t the tyre pressure sensors and the broken registration plate light repaired when those items are covered?

From the moment I drove the car off the forecourt, this has been one issue after another. The poor communication, repeated faults, delays, and lack of customer care have made this one of the worst dealership experiences I’ve had.

I would not recommend Allen Ford Nuneaton based on my experience.

Allen Ford Northampton

I purchased a brand new Jaecoo 7 black luxury from the Allen Ford Motor group in Northampton and it was the most peaceful and straightforward process ever. All of the employees were amazing and helpful but a massive shout out to Tony at the Northampton branch who took care of my purchase. He was quick to reply, always really helpful and on the day on the hand over I was on a tight schedule which he smashed out of the park with the quick and effective service. The car is also amazing and would definitely recommend.

Booked appointment forcauto gearbox change…

Booked appointment to change auto gearbox oil on Kuga. Got a call day before from servicing to say it was quite involved so would need car for the whole day rather than couple of hours. Ok. On day drove an hour to FA Bath and left car took train to Bristol for something to do for the day. Within an hour got call from FA to say it was a sealed lifetime unit so no work needed. They don't appear to know about Ford cars. No formally apology. Then yesterday they sent me a message saying my car needed a service and to call them to book it in. I was baffled as they haven't serviced it for years and it doesn't need one. I called to query this and the receptionist just asked if the service light was on? No I said but I would like a response to my email about the oil change to gearbox I sent weeks ago. Joke

the Allen Ford warwick

the Allen Ford warwick, is one of the best dealers in the area. the staff are very welcoming and approachable. the place is spacious and clean, the cars magnificent. I saw David who takes care of motability customers who is one of the nicest I've met. he went above and beyond to help me both in the showroom and over the phone. their customer care doesn't end when you leave. such a wonderful team and I am most grateful for all the help and care shown to me and my family. I would highly recommend Allen Ford as your next stop for a car. thanks again for taking care of me.

I recently bought a new Puma from Allen…

I recently bought a new Puma from Allen Ford Romford from Tahmid Alam who wasn't the greatest to deal with. After collecting my car a couple of months ago I have been unfortunate to have a slow puncture. I have since noted the locking wheel nut isn't in the car. After giving us the brush off and suggesting talking to servicing, who advised the only thing I can do is cut the wheel off, Tahmid is now ignoring my emails for help to resolve this

Allen Ford Swindon, Gillian Glasgow.

I recently visited Allen Ford Swindon looking to purchase a used vehicle.
I was welcomed be Gillian Glasgow who was so friendly and helpful, she put me at ease from the very beginning.
Although I didn’t end up purchasing from Allen Ford Swindon I would certainly recommend them in particular Gillian.

Ford pick-up truck

Ford pick-up truck, which has been off the road since 10 April 2026, only nine days after I purchased it on 1 April 2026.
Shortly after purchase, a serious fault was identified which required a complete engine replacement. Despite numerous conversations between my wife, and the various parties involved at ford Warwickshire and complaints we have still not received a clear completion date or satisfactory explanation as to when the vehicle will be returned to us we have continued to make our Monthly payments for the Vehicle which is on HIRE PURCHASE whilst the Vehicle is off Road .
It is now approaching two months since the breakdown, and the level of service and communication provided by Ford has been wholly unacceptable. This is in breach of consumer rights Act 2015 Throughout this period, I have been left without a PICK UP TRUCK that is essential for my business and livelihood.

Fantastic experience with Laura at Allen Ford Swindon

I had a great experience at Allen Ford Swindon dealing with Laura. Even though I ultimately decided not to go with the Ford Puma, the service was top-notch. Laura made me feel incredibly welcome, gave a fab test drive, and was very knowledgeable about the car. There was absolutely no pressure at all, which I really appreciated. Highly recommend asking for her

Waste of time and money.

If I could, I'd give no stars. A 250 mile round trip to look at a car that was incorrectly advertised. A Ford Focus EJ23 YTT. The car had damage to the front bumper, the nearside front wing and the wheels had poor and flaky paintwork likely due to cheap refurbishments. It also had a piece of metal sticking out of the nearside rear tyre and the front brake discs had a noticeable lip due to wear present. The sales person present seemed inexperienced and offered to show me a manual gearbox version which of course I wasn't interested in. So that would make two cars that I don't want.... There were also discrepancies over the spec of the car If a Ford dealer don't know if the basics correct, what hope do you have? Like I said, a day off work, a round trip of 250 miles, mileage, wear and tear on my current car and fuel costs. Utter incompetence. Shop around rather than having your time wasted by people that either have no interest in the products they sell or just don't care. It can only be one of the two.

Horrendous

Just come back from a 240 round trip. Looking at a ford focus st. Turned up by a booked appointment at 1pm at Swindon
It was complete wrong description and not a performance pack as advertised
Lucky it was a young sales man who tried him best to cover up the companies complete inconsistency
Damaged front bumper. Damaged front passengers wing. Nail in rear passengers side tyre. Front discs required replacing
All in all waste of a whole day
25.500. So not a cheap car
How can you just sell Fords and get a car so wrong

I was a bit nervous about buying a new car but as soon as I walked into Allen Ford Northampton I felt at ease. Sid took time to listen to me, asked the right questions to understand what I wanted from my new car shd he even made me a decent cup of tea! 😁 I’m now the proud owner of a Puma and I’m THRILLED. Thank you Sid.

Allen Ford - Never again will I buy a car from them

Having had a few cars from Allen Ford in Upminster, not to mention a number of my wife’s family I obtained a new Hyundai Tucson 1.6T Hybrid Ultimate from Allen Ford UK trading as Upminster Hyundai (LD) in 2025. At the time I was also asked if I would like to take out a service plan to help spread the cost of services. I did and thought no more of it. My Hyundai has been a great car, and I am extremely pleased with it.

However, early 2026, Allen Ford closed down Upminster Hyundai (AUH) without any real explanation. So, that was a blow as I thought it is just round the corner when I needed it serviced! The time came to arrange a first-year service, so went online and was pointed to Allen Brentwood Kia (ABK), they accepted my booking, so all fine I thought. Today I thought I would pop in to ABK just to confirm:

A) my booking date/time
B) my service contract was all in place to cover the cost

Booking all confirmed, but an issue with the service contract! They would not be able to use the service contract to pay for the works because the agreement is only in place for a Hyundai UK franchise and in no way implicates Allen Ford: But in my defence

1) 2025 AUH sold me the contract (there was never a discussion as to what would happen if they terminated their franchise with Hyundai or vice versa)
2) 2026 The franchise agreement was terminated (don’t know by which party, certainly not by me)

So, on that basis, I spoke to the Sales Manager at ABK and he confirmed their stance, because they wouldn’t get paid if they were to undertake the service; but I could pay them to have it done if I wanted! All he said is that I would need to take it to a Hyundai franchise!

I questioned Allen Ford customer services with him, which he stated they had a great customer service. So, I then asked if he would get someone from his company to pick up my car, take it to a dealer (nearest Basildon or Southend) who can and is happy to assist, then drop it back to me? His reply didn’t surprise me, it just confirmed they are not interested in keeping customers happy, as he said no. In fact, there was absolutely no offer of any help (or customer service) from him!

I appreciate things change and often extremely hard decisions have to be taken, but to totally neglect their customers from Upminster Hyundai is unquestionably inexcusable and people need to be warned so they can vote with their feet. You try to support local companies and this is how you are repaid!

Anyway, I contacted Toomey Hyundai Basildon who have confirmed my service contract can and will be used and also arranged for a service date earlier than FBK accepted originally because they understood my total exasperation and disbelief of the issue and wanted to do all they could to put a bad experience right. Just shows not all companies are only after your money!

Just received our new car last week… Great!

Just received our new car last week from Allen Ford in Nuneaton. The whole experience has been exceptional. Great advice but not pushy. The right car was found for my needs (disabled) and the whole process was helped by knowledgable and helpful staff (Lily and LIsa). Very pleased with our car so far. Very pleased with the whole experience.

Great customer service

I recently visited Allen Ford in Kettering looking to purchase a Chery Tiggo 8, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. From the moment we arrived, sales executive Michael Jones made us feel completely at ease. He was brilliant throughout the entire process , knowledgeable, professional, and genuinely focused on helping us find the right car. Highly recommended!

I visited Allen Ford in Warwick today - been before recently for a service but popped back today - no appointment was made - to see if I could speak to someone about buying another car. Megan was on reception and happily made all the time that was required to sit and talk through my requirements.
I work in sales and Megan demonstrated that people really do buy from people. She was simply brilliant. confident, listened, gave me no pressure, open and honest and knew her stuff. I am yet to buy but almost certain that I will. She is a credit to your company. Keep hold of her because when I do decide to buy I want to buy from Megan.

I booked into for a full service and…

I booked into for a full service and MOT and people told me I had over paid quite severely. I went with them as I liked the brand.
However during the service they found issues, not a problem it happens. I paid for 2 our of 3 items needed at again a high price.
Upon arrival to pick up my vehicle I expected after overpaying the going rate to atleast have a clean car inside and out. It was in a worst state inside than when I left it.
Also they then offered a discounted rate for the item I didnt get done the next day. Just proving how much they overcharge to begin with. Making me think about buying from them again after no loyalty shown.
