Compared to others Allica Bank stands out

Having experience of all the major banks (plus a few challanger banks) covering many businesses it was a delight to find Allica Bank. The service level Allica Bank achieves should in my opinion, be the aspiration of all banks. Thank you in particular to Brodie for guiding us through opening several accounts to date - with more to follow soon.

Account Application - Brodie Scott

When I applied to open an account with Allica Bank I was assigned to Brodie Scott to take me through the process.
Brodie responded to my request quickly and efficiently and was in constant contact throughout the process.
Once my application was approved she called and took me through the onboarding process. She was a pleasure to deal with - Thank You Brodie

Great Service, Positive attitude, Great Product

We were immediately impressed following our first introduction to Allica
Our relationship manager Andrew was extremely positive and helpful with a ‘can do’ approach from the very first meeting.
Extremely professional and thorough but with the mind set of ‘we can help you’ when other banks had said no.

I have moved my banking to Allica Bank…

I have moved my banking to Allica Bank after meeting with Greg Roake. I had spent many unhappy years at Metrobank and needed to change my business banking. Allica have taken over our banking and reduced my costs and even earned some interest with their great product.

A Refreshingly Modern Banking Experience

Greg Roake at Allica Bank looks after our business and is genuinely refreshing to deal with. It’s immediately clear you’re not dealing with a traditional bank – communication is modern, responsive and actually aligned with how SMEs operate day to day.

Allica Bank feels purpose-built for growing businesses, and Greg in particular makes the whole process straightforward and commercial. A very different experience to the usual banking relationships.

The process from start to finish has been straightforward and transparent. Greg has been on hand from start to finish to help and answer any questions we had. It’s so refreshing ,in this day and age to be able to actually speak to someone who took the time to understand our business . Allica Bank & Greg are 5 Star all the way.

Great customer onboarding support service from Allica Bank

Just moved over to Allica Bank.
App loads easily and connection to accounting software straight forward.

Lots of benefits. It would be great to have a table and road map as to understand fully how the Rewards Business Account and sub Savings Pot account works best together to maximise the benefits (moving and managing initial money).

However, this was fully supported by Customer Services, who led and advised throughout the onboarding process before handing over to the ongoing account manager .

Scammed for £43,821 – Bank Refused to Apply APP Protections

I was the victim of a sophisticated bank impersonation scam and lost £43,821.59.

Despite clear evidence of fraud — including real-time knowledge of my transactions and recovery of £22,441 by a receiving bank — Allica Bank refused reimbursement.

They classified the as “account takeover” rather than an authorised push payment (APP) scam, avoiding application of the October 2024 APP reimbursement rules.

Customers are expected to hold significant balances, yet in my case there was no effective intervention when large, unusual payments were made under clear deception.

The matter is now with the Financial Ombudsman Service.

However, your reply still avoids addressing the central issue.

In your own communication, you described this as a “sophisticated impersonation scam”, which clearly involves deception and social engineering. Despite this, you chose to classify the as “account takeover” and declined to apply the October 2024 APP reimbursement protections.

This contradiction is significant.

Crucially, the fraudsters demonstrated real-time knowledge of my transactions during the call. They referenced activity that had just occurred, which would not be possible without either highly sophisticated access or a serious failure in safeguarding customer information. This further supports that this was a deception-based scam, not a simple customer-authorised action.

• Reference live transactions on my account in real time
• Quote sensitive card details
• Spoof your official number and carry out a structured callback process

It is also notable that £22,441 was recovered by a receiving bank, confirming the funds were traceable and reinforcing that this was not a straightforward case of customer error.

The matter is now with the Financial Ombudsman Service, where I am confident an independent review will assess whether your classification and decision were appropriate.

Great personal experience with added perks

We’ve had a fantastic experience working with Louise as our Business Manager at Allica Bank.

She’s incredibly responsive, always easy to get hold of, and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Louise is personable, professional, and really understands the needs of our accountancy firm as well as our clients.

Recently (after being with Allica for maybe 1.5years) , we had an issue with a card being fraudulently copied, and the way Louise and the team at Allica handled it was outstanding...quick, supportive, and completely stress-free.

We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Louise and Allica Bank to other businesses looking for a reliable and proactive banking partner.

I was a previous customer of Lloyds…

I was a previous customer of Lloyds Business Bank and the comparison to Allica is night and day. First off, I actually have a relationship with my account manager. A real person! Ben Homans. Ben was great from the off, he explained everything clearly and helped get the account set up within a few days. As a regulated financial planner it can be hard to find more modern banks that will accept our accounts, so I was surprised with how smooth everything was.

The account itself is fantastic. I can log on using FaceID rather than having to use a card reader and ensure this is with me to login, which is a major plus, on top of the high interest, cashback etc.

Ben took the time after the account was open to have a further meeting with me to talk me through the account features, how the app worked and make sure everything was set up correctly. This makes a real difference to your experience as a customer.

I would happily introduce any of my clients, colleagues, family or friends to Ben and Allica.

A bank manager is so important to Small Business

After more than a decade with Lloyds and feeling increasingly frustrated with the limitations of traditional high‑street banking for my small business, discovering Allica has been a breath of fresh air. Their focus on genuine customer service is exactly what we’ve been missing.

As a growing business — and as accountants — we need a banking partner who can scale with us and one we can confidently recommend to our clients. After careful consideration and a really positive meeting with our new bank manager, we decided to make the move to Allica.
