Not a company with integrity
I bought my house in October and I noticed that the fence was leaning and there was a sign for Aqua Blue Fence on the fence. So I called them and he told me that the fence had been installed in 2016 and that it was covered by a six year warranty. He came out to view my fence for a warranty repair and we discussed upgrading the posts to steel and sink them 4 feet. One of the posts was almost uprooted because they put in 8 foot posts only sunk 2 feet. I agreed to pay for the upgrade but expected that he would honor the warranty and the posts were clearly leaning because they were improperly installed.
When I got my estimate it was $1500!!!
To replace 10 posts!!! I was NOT happy. When I contacted the owner back and told him that was ridiculous and that I just wanted them to come back and perform the warranty repair he said something about the fences were leaning due to wind and nullified the warranty.
However none of the fences were loose from the posts, the posts were leaning which he said was unusual. All of the homes in our subdivision are built on an elevation that allows proper drainage between houses and clearly my fence is headed down the hill and it should not be. The fence was not properly installed for the elevation. Additionally, in Texas the wind comes from generally two directions: west and north.
I've got a diagram on a compass showing the direction my house faces in yellow at 120° Southeast as well as how the wind would affect that. It's not a straight on wind from the west or the north but the fence at the back of my property is also leaning outward and if it were the west wind it would be leaning inward.
He also tried to say it was because the ground shifted but he installed the fence in 2016 and the house was built in 2008. If the house ground has shifted, the house foundation would be in jeopardy. His crew did a crappy job installing the fence. There’s no way in 4 years the ground could have shifted and there’s no erosion.
I don’t appreciate a company that tells me that they have a six year warranty on a fence they installed and then does everything they can not to honor that. He must think he is dealing with someone who is completely ignorant. His explanation of the problem is complete crap and he only said that in order to try to get out of doing the warranty repair.
I don't know where he's from but I am from Texas and the way that fence is built, it should've lasted another 10 years regardless of the wind. The fence is still solid, and it's solidly leaning.
Do not do business with a company that brags about a warranty they have absolutely zero intention of honoring, who are horribly overpriced on the work they ARE willing to do and rude and insulting when you call them out on it.
