Great interest rates, but company changes requirements
The interest rates are better than other companies that we researched, but we could not get funding for the next semester because Ascent changed their income requirements. Although nothing changed on our end to get approved, because things changed on their end, we were left with scrambling to find another company to get a student loan. Most other companies do not have as strict of requirements so it was still easy to get a loan with good credit but this is not a good experience for a student trying to get an education

Payment arrangement expected before classes are done
I haven't even finished my classes yet, and I am being asked to set up a payment arrangement. Also, when I first started the program, the paperwork said that I would be expected to start payments 12/26/2026. Now they say August, 2026. My hands are tied at this point. I would not recommend them.

Awesome loan application experience!
Working with Ascent on securing a private educational loan was by far the most efficient compared to other loan vendors. The opportunity to adjust all criteria associated with the application also made for a very flexible experience. Add to that the wonderful support person who patiently worked with me during the entire loan process.
