Fantastic experience , auto zone lead the way with used cars.

I brought a Seat Leon from Autozone back on the 10th June 2023. After driving it around for a few weeks I noticed that the gear stick would jump out of gear now and again and some gears were acting odd. The car broke down in a live lane of traffic on the 8th August. When looked at by 2 different mechanics, both stated that the gearbox was completely broken and that it needed a new gearbox completely, equating to the total cost of around £6000. The car itself was barely worth that. Therefore the repairs would not be viable. When I spoke to Autozone, they were unhelpful and non caring. There response was, ‘we don’t know what’s happened to it since you’ve had it’. And that was that. They informed me to claim on the warranty, however the maximum claim on the warranty was just £500. They then asked me if I could pay the remainder and as a gesture of good will they would put £500 towards it. Meaning I would need to pay the remaining £5000. For a car I had only owned for 2 months this was definitely not reasonable in any way.
Forward 3 months later to now, the car still remains broken and I’ve had to go out and purchase a new vehicle because hire cars were costing me thousands. Autozone have been extremely difficult to contact, they have shown no support throughout the entire ordeal so far. The case is currently with the financial ombudsman of which we are hopeful that I will get my money back. But I can honestly say, this is the single worst experience of my life. It has caused no end of distress both emotionally and financially. Please, if you’re thinking of using this company, don’t.

I had initially positive experiences when dealing with Auto Zone Peterborough. The salesperson was genuinely helpful and attentive to all our requests. During the test drive, the car seemed fine. However, things took a turn during the presale preparation when they ended up breaking two injectors while replacing the head gasket. Surprisingly, instead of addressing the issue, they proceeded to sell the car in that compromised state. I had to spend £500 to get it repaired.

When I approached Auto Zone Peterborough seeking compensation, their directed me to claim it from the warranty company. The problem, however, lies in the fact that the warranty policy explicitly states that "the car must be in roadworthy condition at the moment of agreement."

I can't help but wonder how the car professionals at Auto Zone Peterborough failed to notice the two malfunctioning cylinders, especially considering they had driven the car at least twice: once from the garage and another time to and from the car wash.

While anything can happen, how a business handles such situations says more about them than a thousand words ever could.
Based on my experience, I strongly advise avoiding Auto Zone Peterborough.

My wife and I had long coveted a Jaguar XF with the 3 litre Diesel dual supercharged engine, and of course, having a reasonably opulent specification befitting the Jaguar marque. We had been studying the on-line advertisements for the East Anglia region for a tidy car that fitted our quite stringent criteria. A vehicle that looked nice, drove well, and made a statement.

Incredibly, most on-line sellers skimp on their vehicle's description, which must be down to laziness on their part, and their photographs aren't particularly flattering either. There was nothing to inspire us to drive hundreds of miles to see an indifferent car, but there's a lesson for such sellers in this review, and the example to follow has been truly set by a Cambridgeshire dealership that is run by a few highly courteous lads, most of whom weren't even born at the turn of this century.

After many months learning the market, we saw an interesting Jaguar XF for sale at Auto Zone on Lincoln Road, Peterborough. It was very well described, and photographed in a favourable location in good daylight. Well worth a closer look, and after we duly arrived, we were captivated by the car. And the more I looked over it, the more I knew this was the one for us!

It was clean and well presented; it looked exactly like the advertisement photographs; it was exactly as described; and a road-test proved the vehicle's excellent credentials.

The young owners of the Auto Zone dealership were kind, considerate, obliging, and very professional. Buying a car from them is a simple and trouble-free process. Based on our own pleasant experience, we have no doubts at all about recommending them, and they thoroughly deserve five stars.
