Backwater Reptiles Reviews

I ordered 3 White Tree Frogs. They arrived quickly and were safely packaged. All tree are doing very well.
They're also quite cute. Representatives were also very attentive with any of my questions.

I recently built a pond and wanted to add turtles to it. I contacted Backyard Reptiles and they suggested a few different type. I purchased 3 different ones and they arrived yesterday. They were babies and the coolest ones I’ve seen. I would highly recommend them if you are looking to purchase a unique pet

I got a great animal at a really good price it's captive bread and I couldn't be more pleased! She's really gorgeous!

We received a beautiful Pueblo milk snake hatchling in great shape.

Ordered one male and two female green anoles for my bioactive vivarium. Ordering was simple and the animals arrived on time as scheduled. All three of the Anoles look healthy and immediately began to eat and to lap water up from misted leaves. Very happy with the company. Now keeping the Anoles healthy is up to me!

All lizards I have purchased here have always been of excellent quality. And I have purchased quite a few.

They also provide excellent service and superior selection. I love that I can always choose between a baby or an adult lizard and also choose between a male or female gender lizard.

Horrible. Lizard arrived on Death's door, emaciated and dehydrated. It lived 2 hours after it arrived. Backwater wanted me to pay an additional shipping charge for a replacement.

This is the 2nd time I have had issues with Backwater Reptiles. First time, I ordered a frilled neck and received 2 breeding pairs of emerald tree skinks. I decided to keep the skinks vs. put them through return shipping stress. So, they started harassing me about paying for the emeralds when I had paid 3 times as much for the frilly, but never got it. Eventually, that was resolved. Seems like every transaction has an issue.

I ordered a Guyuana Red Tail Boa and had nothing but a good experience. From the moment I ordered her Backwater emailed me back and forth about tracking and all the questions I had. I had to wait an extra day because they didnt have any Guyuana Red Tails when i ordered but they emailed me and asked if it was ok to ship the next day. Ofbciurse i was ok with it. She was delayed by UPS no fault of Backwater and I got her like 6 hours later but she was brought to my door and I actually had to sign for her. So made me feel better to know she wouldn't get left out in the heat. She came in a net bag with newspaper in a secure box with an ice pack. And shes alive and thriving. She looks very healthy. When she came out of the box she was a little agitated but I expected it. She had a long trip. Now shes happy in her enclosure and has lots of love. Overall, my experience with Backwater Reptiles was excellent. Don't listen to any of the bad reviews online about them. I was nervous as first too but took the chance and it was a great chance to take. THANK YOU Backwater Reptiles,I will be using yall again!!

I placed an order with Backwater for a Chubby Frog. Although they were out of the breed I requested, they contacted me in no time to let me know they were out and gave me options of other fossorial breeds they had on hand. I selected a Tomato Frog which arrived, as promised, healthy and beautiful!
The Backwater Team is great on communications and if I ever get space for another frog, I’ll buy from them again.

Good company, they stick by their live delivery guarantee. Nice to work with, just the right amount of customer contact. Thank you, Brad Bell

I ordered 2 Schneider Skinks 1 male and 1 female the order was placed and I was notified right away that it was received. Notified that they were shipped and had a tracking number right away the next day.
Received them the very next day when promised. Had no issues with the shipment at all. Will definitely buy from again in the future. Very nice company to work with. Thank you for my new skinks.

I had an amazing experience with working with backwater reptiles. They were supper helpful very communicative. Shipped as promised and gave me a beautiful animal. The snake arrived very active and thirsty so thank you backwater reptiles.

I have made numerous purchases from this company. Every single time the customer service was more than just exemplary! Will continue to be a loyal customer.

Communication with these guys has been great! There shipping schedule is solid, in my experience the only time there was a slight delay I was notified immediately of the new target date, and everything has been great. One toad so far and about a dozen tree frogs, my family has become enchanted with our new freind my son even giving him the very fitting name of Todd. I have read alot of negative stuff, but to my eye it seems like mainly redditors that are trying to get discounts or referral finder's fees from other shops. Lots of horror stories out there, and it took a bit of courage to click the buy button, and I'm glad i did. Didn't even hesitate when it came time to buy feedstock for Todd! He's been happy and healthy for weeks, he came from backwater and so has his food so don't buy the negative hype, buy stuff from backwaterreptiles.com and thank me later

Great experience! Got a tarantula spiderling and their customer service was excellent and quick to respond. They even offered to ship early and it came alive and well the following morning! The prices are fair and they have a great selection. Be wary of an unaffiliated imitation site causing them issues!

Fantastic company with outstanding customer service! I recently ordered frogs from them, and my animals arrived in excellent condition. Backwater gave me tips and advice on setting up the terrarium and caring for the frogs. They answered all my emails in less than a day. I highly recommend doing business with this company!

Backwater Reptiles handled my experience and transaction with care and confidence right from my first contact. I had several concerns through the process, not anything being about backwater or caused by them. I had a small shipping issues with fed ex but the representative I spoke to, filled me with confidence and put my fears and mind at rest. My wife's birthday present, a beautiful red tail boa, came to me not just perfect visually but it just wanted to snuggle with her and that was a perfect beginning of her adoption, I could do no wrong for hours. I text backwater reptiles, questioning feeding, now and in the future. They answered me right away knowing I already had my snake in my possession, they could have ignored me and put me in the past but they didn't. All in all, Backwater Reptiles have given me the absolute best experience, never did anything like this online but like I said, best experience ever! Thank you Backwater, I do want another red tail for myself now and there is no way I'm going anywhere else, your the best.

It could NOT have been a better experience. I was able to ask questions, and get answers really quickly. I went online to search, read about and learn more about the skink I purchased. It was shipped within a day and sent right to me. I'm telling you, this is a seamless ordeal! You'll love it. They have more than 15 years experience doing what they're doing, and it shows!
