A legit no go
We ordered the hostel with great anticipation.
We were promised breakfast, air-conditioning, bath, lift, TV and Internet and it looked good, lovely even. We ordered three beds and were really excited about this!
.. But then we arrived.. The first night a mistake had been made and we could not share a room as we had expected so one of us had to share a room with a complete stranger, and that certainly was not what we had expected when we first arrived. We were hoping for a lovely vacation, where we could spend the nights together. The receptionist told us nothing could be done, and we just had to settle with what we had got.
Fortunately the day after we all shared a room - it just was ot what we had paid for: The beds were lousy, the room dirty, no TV, no aircondition and certainly no shower as we had expected. Again we talked to the receptionist, who literally told us we should just be happy that we had a bed to sleep in.
This, of course, made us frustrated when we had paid for something else and did not get it.
And as this was not enough: on day three there were not even breakfast enough to serve everyone at the hostel - this was one of the most frustrating things. We arrived at 8:45 and breakfast was served until 9:30, yet nothing was left. That is just simply not acceptable.
..and that night we were told to switch rooms, so we dragged our entire luggage from the third floor to the basement that was so stuffy and unsanitary you almost couldn't breathe down there.
When we then later that night arrived to receive our luggage and get a new room we were told we didn't have to change our rooms anyhow and could just take our luggage back to the room again.
Bastille Hostel was a great disgusting disappointment. If you are considering going there - seriously - Don't go there.
