Daughter with her assistance dog…
Daughter with her assistance dog shopped at Bayside Marine on 15/2/18. Although the dog was wearing a red assistance dog vest, and had a leash sleeve on the lead stating "DO NOT PET", the assistant still petted the dog. I went to Bayside Marine on 16/2/18 to try and educate that no one should pet an assistance dog as it is working and they are distracting the dog from it's job. Got totally blown off, the guy just didn't get it. Said he didn't see the vest of the leash sleeve, guess he is blind.

Thank you for your review. My name is David. I am the manager at Bayside Marine. I was standing with the member of staff you were trying to educate and I was also there yesterday when your daughter came into the shop.
Firstly, your daughter is a regular customer with us and we have always been aware that her dog is an assistance dog. On previous encounters I myself and others have patted the dog on the head and this has never been an issue before.
We are not children and do not need to be talked to in a way that would suggest we are. You were not 'blown off' and the member of staff did apologise to you and asked for you to apologise to your daughter on his behalf. My colleague is not blind. The dog was sitting facing my member off staff which obscured the dogs vest while your daughter tried on a pair of boots. She did say not to touch the dog after he patted it on the head and my colleague said sorry and moved away. No harm was intended and we will if course learn from this for future encounters with assistance dogs.

Staff always helpful when visiting shop, with good stocks held and competitive prices. Where ordering of items has been necessary, this has not been a problem with good communication.

Very good company for all your needs
Have been using Bayside for a good few years now and i have never had any problems , even when they didnt have a particular product in stock they were quick to get it sorted with the minimum of fuss, cant fault their service and very knowledgeable staff all in all great company cheers Trevor.
