Terrible company, awful workplace.
Biozeroc is, without a doubt, the worst employer I have ever had, and I hope to have ever had.
During my time there, I both witnessed and experienced bullying, undermining, lies, and a general air of toxicity that made working there absolutely miserable.
What made matters worse was that I was the 4th employee, so I knew the people doing this quite well, and to be quite frank I expected better. It took nearly 2 years for me to eventually leave, with hindsight, I should have left after about 6 months. Some of the highlights:
Long hours, working ~55 hours a week, including approximately 1 in every 2 weekends.
Share options being altered to devalue them to nothing.
Trying to be a good employee and raise concerns that my relationship with my manager was struggling, and being told I needed to "manage my manager" to make things better and that he "has had bad managers in the past and that is why he acts this way".
Seeing any interpretation of the data that didnt agree with the CTO's view being shot down, even when statistically provable.
Witnessing the CTO kicking objects across the room, because he arrived at work in a bad mood, and can't control his emotions.
The only person to thrive being someone who failed to deliver a 1 month project for 9 months, but who sucked up to senior management enough to stay in their good books, and undermined everyone else to make himself look good.
Gross disparity in pay, with senior management being paid £80k, with others being paid well below market average.
Badly defined project scopes with limited relevance being thrust upon a science team because of poor decision making from management.
Having my manager refer to wanting to hit me, or to shoot me with paintballs.
Constant direction pivoting and a complete lack of direction towards any clear goal.
Blame shifting, to any available scapegoat, including myself, other colleagues, collaborators.
In short, the worst place I have ever worked.
