Excellent, comprehensive support and guidance.

I am still going through a complex process and this is written after my first conversation. I had been passed across from StepChange and was not sure if this was the right place to be - but it was! The ambiguities of my situation did not fit in with the MyBudget tool perfectly but the subsequent conversation transcended that. I was impressed by the agent who took the time needed to grapple with the unusual factors and provide helpful advice that was tailored to my situation. I expect to be back in contact later on, or if events take an unexpected turn, but the agent was well-informed, more helpful than I had anticipated, and conveyed useful facts and options ensuring I understood them all. I still have a long road to traverse but the advice has given me confidence and found a sensible way forward.

I used the webcam because I couldn't get through via phone and I am glad that I used webcam.
The service was clear, questions the asked were precise and answers to my questions very clear too.
The fact that transcribe is emailed to clients is a bonus because we can go over it again.
I suggest people use webchat because it gives you time to read responses and think about them.

I have so far found the service excellent, although can be frustrating being told when telephoning to make contact later, but actually and pragmatically it is quite understandable in that the service is free and it seems likely to be based on the use volunteers. Overall my experience to date has been an extremely positive one and I am prepared to make further calls however long it takes to conclude the very important advice that I need to solve or at least aid a critical business financial & private problem.

Until I spoke to Citizens Advice initially, and was referred, I never knew this service existed. No reason to ever search for it. Of course, through my business, I ended up in a bit of a pickle. I did use the chat service 3 times, not because I wasn't given proper advice, but because I was afraid to follow the particular advice. Eventually I made a phone call and once I was connected to an advisor, I had an absolutely amazing experience. I received genuine empathy, and the advice was amazing and I felt so reassured. You can tell these people are not reading from a script. I know I will be in touch with BDL in the future, and I will most certainly recommend the service to my business contacts.

Good honest advice which helped initially with utility debts.

I have to say I was extremely impressed with the depth of information and advice I was given by the amazing human that is Mark! I was anxious and extremely stressed when we initially spoke and he was calm, kind and patient with me. The fact that he kept reassuring me through the 1 hour call made me feel like someone actually understood my current situation and actually had a solution. His advice and follow-up email was very detailed and I am so grateful. Thank you Mark! The only down side is that I couldn't get intouch with anyone for a follow-up question a few days later. I was on hold for 5 days up to 2 hrs max. Aside from this the initial process was worth the 1 hour wait on hold and 1 hour advice time. I highly recommend this service.
