Absolute calamity from start to finish…

Absolute calamity from start to finish apartment items missing bathroom lock on floor ants all over then everything closes at 10- 11 ish so having bought the all inclusive package it great if you wanna get pissed during the day also specifically went to watch a major champions league match and only sports bar chose to show women’s football instead when manager asked to change totally buffered saying a table of 5 watching it despite 90% of bar asking for the champions league match, finally pumped money into a machine and then told stop because closing at a silly early hour … queues for swimming a joke and when u finally get in get ready for sardines and to top it off the redcoats have as much talent as my big toe honestly embarrassing…… haven way better save some money have a better time

Filthy Accommodation and they already know about it

As like everyone else is saying, the Comfort Plus accommodation in Holicote Village is filthy. We were in B7 - sick stains on carpet, bowls and cutlery dirty, ants that you can’t get rid of with boiling water. I was going to complain but there’s no physical place to do this on site so you need to call. One of our holiday neighbours told us not to bother. They rang, got treated rudely by telephone staff who seem prepared because they get it all the time. And after spending ages they only got offered a £5 voucher per person and someone to come and clean (but then you have to wait in and miss your activities), apparently they won’t even let you speak to a manager. The activities are the best and only good part of the holiday so we decided to grin and bear it (the shows are incredible) but they’ve lost us as customers for life unless they ever lower their hotel accommodation. We paid the works - comfort plus so we hopefully avoided this, premium food option (the middle tier) and vip. The queues are so massive that I wouldn’t come without vip, and the food is mediocre at best. Everything was shut on Monday, including Burger King. This place resembles Pontins before it went bust and instead of investing in accommodation, knowing full well its disgusting and people complain each week, they genuinely don’t care. I’m not even a complainer usually, and wonder if sometimes people are exaggerating in these reviews. They aren’t. Unless you can afford the hotels and vip, seriously don’t bother. The place makes you feel dirty!

Butlins Minehead

Although the food, drinks, and entertainment were great, all of that fades if you feel extremely tired. Firstly, the accommodation was very cold and not clean, and on top of that, the bed in the master room was very uncomfortable. I have slept on cheaper beds that were more comfortable than that. You need to do better I had to leave a day early because our sleep was not good. Such a shame

Cannot get hold if anyone at butlins…

Cannot get hold if anyone at butlins minehead today. I have phoned twice and waited far far too long both times with NO ANSWER!!! Very quick to take your money then shun you. NEVER AGAIN will I book with them NOR RECOMMEND THEM.

Never again

Never again! I usually visit Haven but decided on a change this time round as I have been to thr 90s events here which are amazing (skegness) however there are no activities for the kids, the pool is overcrowded and the wait times food at lunch is insane. 1 hour 8 minutes wait to order food at The Beachcomber Inn
At their busiest time 12-3 there was 1 staff member serving. You'd thibk with that wait time the que would be outside the door.. no there were 7 peolle only. The server was so painfully slow everyone was becoming incredibly frustrating. Kids running the show. Where are the adult managers ensuring service is speedy?? Think I'll stick to Haven for family trips.

Not even there yet and about to turn around

The app is poor. Does not even show the times when anything is open ie, restaurant times. Check in is highly innefective. Slow. Other places use online check in codes with direct entry. Have not even entered in our rooms yet and almost ready to turn around.

Poor cleaniness, hygiene and maintenance in accommodation

Review – Butlin’s Stay (Ref: SK13588564)

We are currently still staying at Butlin’s at the time of writing; however, our experience has been extremely disappointing—primarily due to the condition of the accommodation in terms of cleanliness, hygiene, and maintenance.

Upon arrival, it was immediately apparent that the accommodation had not been properly cleaned. The kitchen area was particularly concerning, with visible stains on the worktops, remnants of food (including egg yolk), and sugar scattered across the table. The floor had not been adequately vacuumed, with debris still present, creating an overall impression of poor hygiene and neglect.

The bathroom conditions were even more unacceptable. The toilet was visibly unclean, which is wholly inappropriate for accommodation prepared for new guests. Additionally, there was a noticeable build-up of dirt and grime around the shower cubicle, suggesting a lack of thorough or routine deep cleaning.

There were also several maintenance issues throughout the accommodation. Doors did not close properly, and multiple latches were broken, which made the property feel poorly maintained and insecure. The coffee table had loose trim hanging off all sides, presenting a potential hazard.

We contacted customer services to address these concerns. The representative we spoke to was polite and helpful, and we were assured the accommodation would be re-cleaned while we were out. Unfortunately, upon our return, it was clear that only minimal improvements had been made. While some litter had been removed, the floor lightly vacuumed, and a few surfaces partially wiped, the overall standard remained well below acceptable levels—even for basic accommodation.

For example, food residue was still present on surfaces, cupboards contained unclean items, and the pans were covered in grease and burnt-on marks. The cutlery, toaster, and kettle were visibly dirty. The heated towel rail had a thick layer of dust, consistent with the dirt on the window sills throughout the apartment.

Overall, the condition of the accommodation has fallen significantly below expectations and has negatively impacted our stay. Despite raising the issues and requesting a second clean, standards were not improved to an acceptable level.

We also attempted to locate a customer service representative on site but were unable to do so. The only assistance available was from a staff member at the car park entrance, who kindly provided a contact card. At this stage, it is difficult to believe that a further clean would resolve the underlying issues, as the standards of housekeeping appear to be consistently lacking.

On a positive note, the staff in the Deck and Yacht dining area have been excellent—professional, attentive, and clearly committed to ensuring guests have a positive experience.

​Our recent stay at Butlin’s Minehead (Unit 13685411) was the worst experience of my life. I have stayed at the Bognor resort before and it was immaculate, but Minehead is in a state of dangerous neglect.
​The Room: Upon arrival, we found a room that resembled a prison cell. The door frames were crumbling and held together by exposed, dangerous screws. The carpets were thick with years of grime. Most horrifyingly, the bunk bed welds had snapped—a major structural failure that could have seriously injured my children. The bedding was stained with what appeared to be blood and pest waste.
​The Facilities: The Splash Waterworld smelled of ammonia and urine, and the floors were gritty with filth. In the canteen, we witnessed families walking barefoot and hair in the food. We ended up spending £150 extra eating at McDonald's and Tesco because the onsite food was a health risk.
​Staff Conduct: I was horrified to hear a staff member racially abusing a guest behind his back, using slurs regarding the Gypsy community. This is 2026—this behavior is illegal and unacceptable.
​The Response: After sending clear photographic proof of these hazards, Butlin’s "Guest Solutions" sent a generic template response offering a "complimentary upgrade." I do not want an upgrade; I want a refund for a service that was unsafe and unfit for human habitation.

Should have gone centre parcs

Should have paid the extra and gone centre parts......
Only just arrived still worthy of a 1 star review.
Paid extra for early check-in. The room wasn't ready, offered a refund and told to come back and hour later. Came back, room still wasn't ready. Reception came up with the genius idea of moving rooms. Not sure why that wasn't an option before. We've sat around and waited not knowing when our room would be ready. Preventing us doing other things like swimming..... the main reason we went for an early check-in. Just arrived in our new room and smells of a mixture or bleach and urine. It's given everyone the hump, particularly
me, the one that paid for it all. Not the start to a holiday I envisaged.

We had a terrible edd experience at Butlins skegness problems with the apartment the app and premium dining it was so bad that we left 2days later when we got home we complained to Butlins who basically told us a lot if things we were saying they could not verify ie we called guest services but we called on a number that they didn't have in their system so that didn't count

Guest services response was worse than the holiday and if anyone from Butlins reads this your ref number is at the top of this complaint

We have been to Butlins many times with no issues but we will never go back
Issues we had were
BBC didn't work on main TV Butlins said they would send someone to fix it but didnt
Couldn't cancel show in app because it was within 24hours of the show starting and couldn't rebook for next day as app wouldn't allow - Butlins answer was don't know just stand in the queue and hope you get in
Premium food yacht club closed only the deck open food was so bad we had to buy takeaway
If you stay in a multi floored apartment be careful because the numbering system is confusing

If you have no issues then great but as soon as you have an issue good luck

We were told by guest services complaints that we should have contacted guest services on resort small problem its closed!

What they don't mention is that they actually switch them off so they can con you out of your money. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour.

Butlins Minehead bedbugs

I have given 1 star as I can't give none. We have been staying in Butlins Minehead all weekend for the masked singer event, the service has been shocking, made a complaint on arrival due to no sheets on the the beds that was not sorted, I have been given so many different numbers to contact but I keep being told that as I am already on site they can't do anything about it. My children are covered in bites and I have videos and pictures of bedbugs which is clearly what has bitten my kids. We are so disappointed in the services provided.

Butlins Bognor (Mouldy Crack Den)

Butlins Bognor Regis....specifically the accommodation in Oyster Bay!! We came for a weekend SPW, granted we were not that fussed about the basic accomodation until we realised that £1300 for 3 days in a basic comfort studio included Mould on the walls and curtains, thick dust on the skirting boards, 2 leaks in the bathroom (sink & toilet) that amounted to a lake after 2 days. The window frames were mounted in dust & mould and the whole property doesnt look like its been properly cleaned in years, it smelled heavily of mould and we affectionatly referred to it as "the crack den", and wondered if we may end up with TB or another respiratory illness!!
There were no fire blankets or extinguishers, nor smoke alarms which are a legal requirement in self catering accomodation!! Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 in England and Wales!! & There was a broken electric blower heater in the bathroom. Honestly this whole block needs a refurb or to be condemned. I didn't think I would experience such rancid accomodation in 2026, from a reputable company such as Butlins... and for the prices they are charging it's daylight robbery!!

- No trolleys to help get baggage to accomodation which has available in 30+ previous years. Butlins should have informed us would have made alternative arrangements
- Even though signs on site to customer services only available by impersonal phone number.
- Parked in disabled bay close to site Bollards put up that now impedes us getting out
Spoke to Sarah asking for compensation for all the hassle. This was declined
- Will think twice before considering to come again. Not now really suitable for disabled customers

From Great to Grim – Bognor Has Seriously Declined

I’ve visited the Bognor resort four times and have always liked the size and layout of the place, but this year was by far the worst experience I’ve had. In previous years we booked the Seaside Apartments, which have since been renamed Comfort Plus. We booked Comfort Plus again in February 2025 and received the same standard of accommodation. For 2026, we booked the same category once more, but what we were given this time was completely unacceptable.

The apartment we were placed in was dirty, run down, and absolutely not a Comfort Plus. At best it resembled an old Gold apartment, possibly even Silver. There was food left in the oven, exploded food stuck inside the microwave, and black mould in the children’s bedroom. The whole place was in desperate need of refurbishment. My biggest complaint is the accommodation itself. I raised the issue on-site, but nothing was done. I was simply told to email the feedback email address when I got home andI was offered to choose a free room selection next time. There won’t be a next time. The resort felt dangerous, dirty, and you truly get what you pay for.

There were several other issues throughout the stay:
• The fairground had noticeably fewer rides—no Waltzer, no Trabant.
• The swimming pool introduced a trial system requiring guests to book a time slot, with no communication. We were limited to 1 hour 30 minutes.
• VIP guests and non‑VIP guests were allowed to merge into the same queues.
• Cannabis use around the resort was out of control.
• Eggs were thrown at windows.
• The fire alarm went off at 11:20pm.

Overall, this was the most disappointing and uncomfortable stay I’ve ever had at Butlins, and it will be my last.

customer service

Just come home from an amazing holiday from butlins Bognor Regis. Had an amazing time, we spent a lot of time in the pool, in particular the family raft ride. The play experience was very good, there was a lot to do in there, however, some things I wouldn’t say were worth the price like the glow pong.

One particular stand out for us however, was the customer service, especially Juan Pablo who always had a positive energy, greeting us when we walked into our hotel with a smile. He was great at finding solutions to our problems very quickly. For example, we had an issue room cleanliness and he immediately went to get someone to sort it out for us whilst dealing with other guests too. Overall, from a customer’s point of view, it gave a real human touch to the place which made the experience a lot better.

Skegness 70s weekend

Skegness 70s weekend. Really good weekend. Great staff, good band line up, good all round effort to entertain guests. Inclusive food was okay and plentiful, accommodation was fine. All bans were good, some were first class but unfortunately all let down by the music desk controllers! Consistently pushed volume through the limit and distorted mics and speakers. Totally unnecessary; loud, clear music is easy to attain, and everyone beniftis. If I were The Glitterband or Bay City Rollers, I'd be mortified at what the Desk Jockies had done; complaints from thousand of guests. Great effort from most Butlins staff, marred by a few idiots. Butlins management should not ignore this comment.

Poor sales tactics

Haven't even managed to get there yet, but felt obliged to point out how misleading their offers are. Tried to book on line with a discount code that the system wouldn't recognise. Phoned and was told that they would not apply a discount code despite the ad ert clearly saying it applied. Then tried to sell me extras instead! Very dissapointing sales tactics.
