Carolina Carports and Metal Buildings Reviews 

I placed my order the end of July through Alan’s Factory Outlet. I called to get an update on my approximate delivery date/range. They were so rude and disrespectful. Not friendly at all. I called Alans Factory Outlet and the delivery contractor CAROLINA CARPORTS, INC for update information because it's been a month and have not heard from anyone. No information could be provided. The only response is we're booked up right now, we will call you three weeks in advance. This is the information you inform your customers about when confirming the order, not afterwards.
I will never order from this company again.
The online order process is great but the customer and staff is horrible once you pay that deposit and request updates. Will come back with updates throughout the process and photos once installation is complete.

Update
Received a called from Carolina Carports, INC two weeks ago saying that the contractors would be out on 9/17 (Thursday). My husband took off work so he could be there. Unfortunately as stated in other reviews, they just called today 9/14 (Monday) to tell us they need to reschedule 9/20 (Sunday). I was hoping for a different outcome even though I had doubts because of all the negative reviews. I will come back with updates 9/20. Please order from a company that does not hire third party contractors and claims to be unaware of what’s going on. It’s no way possible Alan’s Factory is unaware of what’s going on due to all the negative reviews posted.

First of all, the carport is great and the install crew was great.
Here's the big issue - I waited patiently almost 3 months for my carport. They called and we scheduled an install date. I took the day off, had the site clear, power ready and everything. They showed up with the wrong building and tried to convince me to take it over the one I ordered. I sent them away. I didn't get a follow up call so I called them the next day. They said it would be at least 2 more months before I got the building I ordered and I would get another call to schedule again. So, I waited patiently again. About a month and a half later, a crew was in my driveway at 7am as I was heading out to work. No call to schedule, site wasn't cleared for them, and I didn't have the cash on hand like the first time because I wasn't notified to prep for any of this. I had the install guys help me push cars out of the way so they could get to work and paid with a card so I could get to my job. I called and got no answer. They called for a follow up on the install at the end of the day. I explained that no one had scheduled this install and I was not only unprepared but late to work. They said they would wave the 2% fee for using a card for the trouble and then sent me a receipt for the full amount charged, including the card fee. Never again with this company.

Took almost 3 months to get here then when they are scheduled to be here finally the weather is bad so they reschedule. No biggie, I understand that part. But the next week it’s been sunny and they no call/no show after I take a days PTO thinking they are coming. 2 days go by and they call and say they will be here this evening. Well bad weather is moving in now so I guess they will reschedule and disappear again. Make sure you pay with credit card so you can dispute it like I’m doing. These people SUCK!!

Caroilina Carports gave me delivery date, so I drove 4 hours and took a day off work to meet them at my other property. No show, no call, so I called several times. I finally got ahold a someone, they said they would be out in 2 days they were running behind. Second 4 hour trip and a day off work with no pay and another no show and no call. Worst company I have ever done business with in my life. I would not recommend this company for anything unless you got time and money to waste!!!!!!

Carolina carports is also the delivery and installer for Alans Factory Outlet. I ordered in April 2026 and Carolina Carports has come up with excuse after excuse and repeatedly rescheduled me. Here it is the middle of July and I have still not gotten my carport. And they just called today and said due to rain they were going to have to reschedule again, of course another 2 weeks out, so I had enough of the excuses and canceled my order and went with another company. I read reviews of one woman that has been waiting since October of 2025 and still hasn't gotten hers. Carolina Carports is very bad at logistics and scheduling. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM, if you want you order anytime soon. If you want to wait months then be my guest. Worst Company I have ever dealt with.

We contacted Carolina Carports on April 6th, 2026 after waiting on another carport company in NC for 3 months and nothing. After contactin CC we were given the prices of the puchase we wanted make and it was much better than the previous seller. We were told it would be appoximately 6 to 8 weeks to get the carport cut and ready and that we would get a call from the contractor when ready. We called the middle of June and they told us it should be installed on July 1st. We did get it done on July 2nd because of the hot weather. It is much better than the one we had installed 30 years ago and is well worth the wait. The installers were great and it was completed in an hour or so. I am really happy with our purchase. I pre-order a building through Alan's Factory who uses Carolina Carports for the installation. Once the process was completed with Alans, which was smooth, everything went downhill. Carolina Carports out of my entirety of my life is the most unprofessional, non transparent company/business I have ever had to deal with. From emails to phone calls the communication AWFUL. I called a total of four times and each time I was put on hold for a MINIMUM of 20 minutes, NO EXAGGERATION! I ultimately resulted back to Alans due to Carolina Carports lack of communication with Carolina Carports being cc'd in all email threads and to this day they have still yet to respond or even try justify the extreme lack of professionalism. Subsequently, I ended up getting my money back and went with a more reputable company. Again, use at your own risk but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DO NOT PUT yourself through the headache and aggravation especially when you're giving them your money only to be treated worse than poorly.

Carolina Carports do the installation for Alans Factory Outlet. The communication with scheduling is almost non-existent. I was rescheduled twice and still waiting on a date for a third time. They don't seem to care about the needs of the customer and you'll pretty much get your install WHEN THEY SAY YOU WILL! They'll tell you the installers work until dark, but that is not true. He was 10 miles from me and called at 5pm and said they wouldn't make it. Scheduling management doesn't care and won't make any effort to get to you as soon as possible. You're pretty much at their mercy and a 12 week wait is pretty much standard, if they get it then.

I purchased an 20x25x11 carport in july 2025, company did call for installation date of august 2025, after being told 12 week lead time. My contractor hadn't showed up just yet, rescheduled, another attempt was made in December 2025 in the middle of a snowstorm, of course, no install. No other attempts to reschedule as it is now june 2026. I called in april 2026, was told it would be in may 2026, may has now come and gone. Still waiting on install, it has now been 11 months since purchase, still waiting

I ordered a Gable metal roof with 10ft legs, One gable endcap and 1 side panel per side for extra strength. The building showed up and was put up with no side panels. Alans uses a subcompany Carolina Carports for shipmates and installs. When I called to let them know there was no side panels they looked at the order and agreed that it showed the color of the side panels but none was sent. A very rude lady then calls me back and says that there was nothing on the order for side panels. She was rude from the minute I answered the phone. Then a lady from Alans called and let me listen to a recording when I originally called to order and the side panels was not mentioned but had nothing of when I did speak to a gentleman requesting the side panels. This company will never get anymore of my business or any of the business owners in my area. You actually work with 4 or 5 different people from 2 different companies which is not good business at all. STAY CLEAR OF THIS SCAMMER!!!

Horrible! After waiting almost 6 months and still no show or contact company blamed me for ordering wrong time of year and that their sales dropped in my area so they are not running here often. I can see why their sales are dropping. I highly recommend you go ANYWHERE else. They are crooks and absolutely do not care about customers

ZERO STARS...NEVER USE Carolina Carports, they are forcing me to pay an additional $2k and use their structured site plans. I have already submitted CCI structural information, surveys, etc. to my county and it has all been approved and permitted. After CCI gave me a quote, they stated I would never get a permit without their plans that are specific to my building. Now that I have they are forcing me to pay additional money because they say they cannot and will not complete the job without using their site plans. I have already paid a deposit and now forced into spending more unnecessary money just to have a metal building installed. THEY ARE CROOKS.

They can fix existing problems that have been happening from day one fix doors that are hard and noisy to roll up walk door that won't open leaks over entire roof .ordered the building in April of 23 was told maximum time would be 4-6 weeks finally in October received it 10/2/23 it rained then roof leaked still leaks now saying it will it cost me $200 to send someone out to fix all though it has been leaking since day 1 they send out crews that can't speak English 1 even told me through a visitor who understands Spanish that he had just slipped in the country 2wks ago and was hiding with his boss the crews have stole from me .PLEASE DON'T USE CAROLINA CARPORTS FOR ANYTHING WORST BUSINESS DECISION I EVER MADE SOMETHING SHOULD BE DONE TO CLOSE THIS SCAM DOWN.Just got off the phone with Savana she was very short talked over everything I tried to say even said there had not been anyone here in over a year maybe that's what their records show but they were because when they wanted to schedule it I was going to be out of town so they put it off another few months. Stay clear of this bait and switch

Carolina Carports does not stand behind their products or installations. Two months after installation, I had to call them back because the installers they provided left a portion of the roof unfastened and the wind was lifting the roof off the walls. This year, at the top of every structural upright holding the walls together, water flooded in during the snow and ice storm around President's Day. It ruined my dropped ceiling. Called them. They said since I installed the dropped ceiling, I voided the warranty because I "made a modification" to the building. I guess adding windows and a door to get in and out was not a modification? Note that the dropped ceiling is not attached to the roof in any way and would not have caused that leak. My belief is that either the materials were faulty or the installation was incorrectly done, especially since they left part of the roof unfastened to start with. I talked to a CS rep. She said I voided the warranty, it is a shed, etc. So I guess storing a box inside would void the warranty as well and be considered "a modification"? I asked to speak to the owner/manager of the company. She told me that the owner/manager does not answer phone calls!!! I then asked if she would answer calls from the Better Business Bureau, a lawyer or judge, etc. then ended the call. Steel building is 8 years old. These buildings are supposed to last a very long time as evidenced by how many are in use after 20-30 years. That roof should never have leaked at all. There is no rust, no holes, no damage at all to the top surface of the roof. The roof to upright supports connection failed in "most" of the vertical beams. If modifications void the warranty, I guess installing a door to get into the shed voided the warranty as well? Do not trust them to come and look at the issues, don't trust the owner/manager to talk to you about an issue, don't trust them to stand by their products and installers.

Dont waste your time. Very disappointed with this company wish we knew it was them when we ordered through alan's factory outlet we ordered august of 2025 first schedule wasn't even within the 30-90 days promised, have been rescheduled many time times weather related i get but we were told crews weren't available on a few of them they refuse to give a discount alan's factory outlet was nice enough to give a little refund on our deposit but like we ordered this before winter to protect our new motorhome that has now sat out in the crazy winter we have had this year sincerely one unhappy customer

I ordered my 30' x 60' metal building from Carolina Sheds and signed a contract that stated I would have it in 60-90 days. Well after 65 days I called and called the company finally got an answer that they were behind because of the weather and lost lots of employees to ICE, that tell you something. At 145 days I got a call saying they were delivering my building, I told them we would be on vacation out of the country to give my slot to someone and give me theirs for a latter date and said they could not do that and would get back to me. I got the call they were coming the following Monday, no show, Tuesday not show I called and they said first thing Wednesday which turned out to be 3 in the afternoon. Not Sure what happened but couldn't find out since only one of the crew spoke a little English. Building good 7 days to put up and they were gone.
I called around to have a door opener installed and it took me 4 companies to find someone who would do it, 3 said straight out they would not work on anything built by Carolina Carports. The one installer game and said the working of their doors are all plastic and never last they asked if I was getting a new door. I asked why and he pointed out a circle on the door written in magic marker which I thought it maybe a measurement. He said no it's defected, so the door was put up defective and I was never told. Carolina Carport brought a new door, put it up not installed and left. I had the garage door opener company come back to reinstall the door opener, they spent 2 hours trying to install the door and said the second door is worse than the first door and I should call and have another door delivered. I couldn't go though this again and do not trust Carolina Carport so I spent $3000 bought a new door which is built so much better and opens smoothly. On top of all these problems a friend came to visit and showed me a large dent in one of the corner moldings and where they tried to hide it by spray painting it black where it drip marks. make sure you read reviews not on their site where they post review from a few of their satisfied customers as it states.

I purchased a new garage with lean too from you.
The installers left metal shaving on every ledge on the metal siding and the roof on the entire structure.
Those metal shaving have rusted and embedded past the metal coating and bonded to the steel underneath the protective coating. Hundreds of rust spots are all over the building. I have been for 2 weeks trying to remove the rusted metal shavings to save the building from more damage.
I found broken drill bits on the roof rusted thru the external coating.
I also noticed the seals on the garage door have a fair large gap between the seal and the roll up door. I want to air-condition the building and this will allow cool aor to escape.
The grounding rod was installed but noting is attached to it.

Carolina carport will not fix the issues saying i heavily modified the building after their workmanship errors causing corrosion to the exterior of the building.

I will not be doing business woth them again

The errors the crew they hired was not my fault it is theirs.

I paid full price for a quality job and have to deal woth repainting the entire building due to thousands of raw hot metal shavings invading themselves into the exterior coating causing the metal to rust.
The building is brand new

Just had my installation done. Amazing crew! 30 x 80 x 12. I can't believe what a GREAT job they did. It did take them 16 weeks to deliver me, but it was totally worth the wait. I got 26-gauge metal, a 12-gauge frame, two garage doors, and wind certification for 170 mph. The nearest competitor was $3k higher. All the negative reviews I saw online had me worried, but after the install, I'm glad I was patient. If you don't know what you're doing, it's best to have a concrete pad done by a pro. I couldn't be happier with the way this turned out. Thanks, Carolina!

I was told 6-8 weeks from the time the concrete pad was installed and they were notified. It ended up taking 15 weeks for completion and that can really screw things up when lining up contractors to finish the site work and electrical etc. I would give them 0 stars for communication I was never contacted about anything and after several calls I still couldn’t get a timeline of completion. Finally I was told they were coming August 26- 28 and I took that time of off work losing hundreds of dollars when they didn’t call to say they were delayed or any communication whatsoever. They finally arrived on the 28 and were done on the 30th. I will say that the building itself looks good and the Spanish speaking crew did a good job. It always amazes me that such a large company can be so bad with customer service. They obviously don’t care about wasting your time.
