Company are great with delivery's etc
Company are great with delivery's etc, but I was given a faulty fridge freezer, which was replaced. I called about compensating the spoilt food from the freezer and was told they don't do this, I'm on benefits and now have 2 and a half weeks until I get anything again, something they need to rethink

I want to clarify the situation regarding the compensation for your spoiled food. It was myself who originally spoke with you about the cooker and fridge freezer we funded for you, I received your email yesterday at 1pm, which was passed to me to send out supermarket vouchers as a gesture of goodwill for the inconvenience caused.
It seems there may have been some miscommunication when you called in at 16:20 and spoke with the engineer, who typically doesn't handle these types of requests and may not have been fully aware of the steps already taken to address your concerns.
Please rest assured that we are processing the supermarket vouchers and will send them to you as soon as possible to help alleviate the financial burden caused by this unfortunate incident.

Tried to donate goods to this company
Tried to donate goods to this company. There was a 3 piece suite, various bedroom furniture, fridge freezer, and various other household furniture. Whilst I appreciate some were maybe not up to a high standard I certainly feel that these items could have been put to good use to people in the community. Additionally it would have went towards helping people with difficulties which was I went to this company in the first place. After refusing the 3 piece suite and starting to analyse all the furniture I asked the gentlemen to leave the house as it is so disrepectful. You try and help the community but I dont think the company has the same beliefs

I want to assure you that we are not trying to be disrespectful or "cherry pick" donated items. As a business, we are required to follow stringent legislation such as the Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) Regulations, which impact what items we are able to accept. While we may personally agree that a particular piece of furniture could still be put to good use by someone in need, we are not always able to accept it if it doesn’t meet the legal requirements we must comply with.
We have many items available for free on our shop floor that have some wear and tear or minor damage. Our hope is always that these goods can go to someone in need at no cost. Unfortunately, we often find that even when offering these items for free, people are hesitant to take them, and we end up having to pay disposal fees as a result. Giving away items free to those in need is huge part of what we do, and we strive to give those people high quality items to maintain their dignity and respect.
In this particular case, our driver's concern was that we have had to dispose of too many leather sofas with scratches on them in the past, which fall under POPs legislation and are deemed (not by us) as hazardous waste. Additionally, we did not have the means to repair the sideboard that had doors falling off. Please know that this does not mean we would not have accepted the other items you had originally scheduled for donation. However, we understand that due to the first two pieces not being accepted, you made the decision to cancel the remainder of the donation.
Please know that as a ‘Disability Confident Employer’ we are deeply committed to supporting people with disabilities in our community. It is at the heart of our mission and values as an organisation. We are so sorry to hear about the passing of your parent, and we truly appreciate you thinking of us as a way to honour your daughter while providing help to others in similar situations.

Friendly delivery guys, went to great lengths to get my new suite into the house as it was a major struggle - a big shout out to Mike, Mark and Scott who excelled themselves! Really happy with the suite and excellent value for money. Would definitely use them again.

Beware would be my advice .
I have gave this company 1 star because they arrived at the house when they should. I had a corner sofa and 3 IKEA wardrobes less than 3 years old which this company deemed not fit enough to uplift. Granted there was wear on the sofa but what do you expect but it certainly would have been good enough for someone starting a home . The IKEA wardrobes has two very small holes in one side of them where they were joined together for stability. The wardrobes which cost approx £1000 and about 3 years old are now in the council tip as they were not deemed good enough to take by this company . So much much for being environmental friendly . These items were serviceable and I am astounded by the man (quality control ) who did everything but use a magnifying glass when looking at the furniture.
My advice would be BEWARE as it would appear they only want items in near showroom condition .

Hi William, thank you for your feedback. All donations to our charity are quality checked at the discretion of our staff who are trained in relevant rules and regulations that we must adhere to. If the item cannot be resold, for which there are many reasons such as intact fire labels for example, it becomes a cost to us to dispose which the charity cannot afford unfortunately.

Had a sofa delivered by Castle furniture. Great find at a great price. Lisa ,Kenny, and Pav delivered it into the house perfectly. Really satisfied with the service. Would highly recommend.😊

Was in the market for a couch and…
Was in the market for a couch and stumbled on Castle furniture , bought a couch that was highly recommended from all the reviews .
When the couch arrived I took it out of the box ( mind you these guys don’t care about the world so much wasteful packaging ) The couch looked awesome but when I sat on it I feel like I was sitting at the bus stop Probably the most uncomfortable seating experience I’ve ever felt in my life .
When trying to return it they charge me 40% Restocking fee which I thought was pretty average I had no choice the pool wife was pregnant and she needed a more comfier couch to sit on she on she deserves more than a bus stop couch.
Can’t understand why they need to charge so much for restocking fee when they don’t even have a shopfront where u can sit on The couches and try .
I would never recommend these guys again I think I’ve found patches of concrete more comfortable than there couches .

Terrible service purchased a set love sest sofa on sale Oct 2919 the stuffing under the leather was not done correctly my set looks 20 years old! manager decided 500 was good enough to give as a credit because he exclaimed to get my set restuffed was too expensive! I work retail there is a 2 year warranty on frames ! manufactory warranty! Now we have to buy another set this one looks like crap !!!!!!!!! Dont buy from here the manager is a con artist and wont stand behind the one year manufacturers warranty would have cost him pick up only !!!!

Rude Staff Member Mocked my Disabled Mother
I went to the Glenrothes branch on Wednesday 18th December with my mother to search for a bed frame for her. My mother is very deaf, has hidden disabilities and required me to be with her to help her shop. I found a divan that was reasonably priced, and went to the office to speak to the staff. The trainee was helpful and polite, however his superviser (short woman with short brown hair) was extremely rude. My mother is on various benefits because of her disabilities and went to show the rude woman the paperwork, however she snapped at my mother saying her income assessed benefits paperwork were no good for a discount. I stepped in, desperate to get a bed for my mother and offered to pay just under £100 in cash. I tried to explain to rude lady that my mother was deaf and misunderstood. Rude lady then smirked and said "I can see THAT". I overheard the trainee say that the delivery driver was on holiday so deliveries were minimal, so I asked if I could measure the divan to see if one part would possibly fit in the back of my car, it was a long shot but i was trying to be helpful. When I said what type of car I had, the rude lady began cackling for about a minute and a half. I glared at her and walked out, cancelling the transaction, apologising to the trainee but I felt very uncomfortable with rude lady's behaviour. I am surprised for a charity that supports mental health and hidden disability/disadvantaged people, that they would treat a disabled customer like my mother so badly. I will never shop here again. I am all for upcycling and supporting charity but ended up buying a basic flatpack from argos for £150 later that day which fit in my car perfectly.
