Excellent service from Julian

We were looking to upgrade our VW transporter campervan & having done considerable research we decided to go for the Laika Ecovip 645. We visited Chelston motorhomes last summer & Julian from sales was very helpful & informative. We then visited 2 dealerships camper uk (71 miles from home) & Erwin Hymer centre travelworld which is only 47 miles from home. Both of these dealerships were poor in their approach & attitude. We then decided to buy through Julian at Chelston who gave us great confidence. We collected the vehicle as arranged on 20th May 2026 & are delighted with the vehicle & Julian’s professionalism. Many thanks to team Chelston.

Rude and Lazy Sales Staff

It would appear that a sales position with this company would be great - if it wasn't for the inconvenience of the customers. These must be the laziest, rudest sales people in the trade. We visited the site to buy a new vehicle. Staff didn't even raise their rear ends from their chairs - didn't engage, told us that the vehicles we were interested in were 'outside, on the left' then got back to who knows what! Several other potential customers complained of the same treatment. We left the site vowing to take our business, and money, elsewhere.

Mega Mobil purchase and handover brilliant service.

From purchase to handover, everything was handled professionally. Any questions we had were quickly answered by Julian, who even arranged our stopover when we came to view the van. We were given as much time as we needed to look around, with absolutely no pressure at all. Other staff members were quick to offer refreshments, always with a smile.

The handover was very thorough, and every question was answered clearly. We asked for the Mega Mobil to be filled with fuel so we wouldn’t need to search for a garage, and it was all ready for us when we arrived to collect it. We were also kindly offered a place to stay overnight to get used to the Mega Mobil, but we decided to hit the open road instead.

All in all, a great experience. A big thank you to all the staff — and especially to Julian for his brilliant service. M & T G

The worst experience I have ever had to…

The worst experience I have ever had to date, purchased a brand motorhome 6 months ago and have experienced over 30 defects to the vehicle which is still ongoing and over 100 emails later, worst customer service and aftercare experience, please do not purchase from here, the MD and aftercare team are not interested.

Reasonable service but let themselves down on small details in after sales

I purchased a 12month old Adria Twin camper van. It was a good sales experience and I had a thorough show round of it on collection. However despite reporting a fault with the electric point cover on the first journey from the showroom and being promised a replacement, despite chasing I still have not received this over a year later. I also had a leak with the window, which Chelston agreed to replace under their warranty from Adria. They allowed me to use an engineer closer to my home and paid a fixed sum towards the labour costs - I had to pick up the extra 2 hours cost. But I was very disappointed that Chelston refused to pay for the mastic required to fit the window. A small cost and very small minded of Chelston to lose a potential future customer over this.

Absolutely Excellent Aftersales Support

Absolutely excellent aftersales support. Not for the first time have the team at Chelston Motorhomes exceeded our expectations and gone the extra mile. Having purchased a new Adria Twin Supreme 640 SLB less than 18 months ago, we encountered a few issues during our first outing that were promptly dealt with efficiently and effectively by the team. The latest issue(s) however, involved defects in the solar charging and EHU circuits that rendered the campervan not fit for purpose and put at risk our planned stays for the 2025 season. Sensing our disappointment and frustration Chelston Motorhomes without hesitation immediately agreed to take our campervan in to the workshop for a thorough investigation. The campervan was dropped off at 8am with some skepticism and expecting the worst given the customary long lead time on Adria parts! At 3pm I was informed by phone that the campervan was ready to collect. Faults had been found (originating from factory), new parts fitted (resolving EHU & Solar Charging Issues) and the van thoroughly tested! All conducted under warranty and without fuss. We were astonished but very thankful! We picked the van up later that evening and would personally like to thank Darren (Workshop Manager) and Jenny for such outstanding service and support.

Quite possibly the worst experience…

Quite possibly the worst experience from start to finish or should I say still ongoing
Salesman was rude and really wasn't bothered if we bought or didn't!
Aftersales was the worst I've ever experienced no-one returns calls. The reception staff are rude and condescending and when I asked to speak to the manager he wasn't available and never bothered to return my calls either.
I have been waiting for over 2 months for plan forward with the issues my motorhome has, it is still covered by warranty but no-one at Chelston wants to know or help
Would never recommend them to anyone
Very disappointed !!

We are very happy with the service.

We are very happy with our recent purchase of our Campervan from Chelston. Julian, our salesman was very professional throughout and kept me updated as and when we asked for progress updates. Excellent handover from Stuart, very informative .
Julian was super organised with all the paperwork and set up our extended warranty.
We are very happy with the service we received.

Our purchase of a second hand motor…

Our purchase of a second hand motor home was very professionally handled. We were given time to look at the vehicle at our leisure and Julian was knowledgeable in answering all our questions.
Come the day of handover all additional items discussed had been completed and Wayne spent 2 hours making sure we understood the van in the handover which had been valeted to a very high standard.
Phone numbers were provided for after sales support and have been very helpful. Would recommend for sales.

Efficient annual habitation check

My annual habitation check was undertaken. The cost seemed quite high but the arrangements before and on the day were efficient with plenty of advice and information. The van was clean and tidy when collected

Disappointed

Disappointed, didn’t keep to time estimate, even though the annual service / inspection was part of a maintenance contract I was given the impression it was an inconvenience rather than a pleasure to do the work.

I would never use them again.

We bought our motorhome through Chelstons. The sales experience wasn't bad, hence the two stars. Everything after sale was a very poor experience. We had a problem with our van that took 3 visits to fix as their guys couldn't find the issue until I demonstrated it to them. They are very poor at communicating with constant errors. I would never use them again.

Habitation Check

Having paid £299 for a habitation check, where all the damp readings were recorded as less than 15% in all areas and the statement “no issues to worry about”, imagine our surprise when as we were selling our Motorhome a few days later we were informed that two areas were showing 40% damp and having to take a further hit of £2k in order to sell. Due to the circumstances at the time we had no option but to accept the offer. There had been no rain between the checks so unsure how they could be so different.

Disappointing

Took our van in for annual habitation service, when we got it home we noticed that the pop top roof had been closed with the canvas trapped outside of the van. Luckily there was no damage, but we felt it showed a lack of attention and respect for our vehicle, which was disappointing. Have also taken vehicle in for a repair of the canvas in the past, only to have it returned without any repair, with the explanation that they couldn’t find it, but equally they didn’t bother to contact us to ask or clarify where the problem was, so we ended up repairing it ourselves.
The reception staff are always very helpful, but you never seem able to speak to the person servicing your vehicle.
