I've been working with CK for years but since July, they no longer respond to phones and emails. This is putting me and my business in a difficult situation. Shame.

I've been with this company for over 20 years. They have been managing my accounts for my limited company throughout this entire period. Before the recent takeover they were brilliant. However, since the takeover they have moved from the top end of the spectrum to the bottom. I used to have a dedicated account manager who looked after my accounts and who I could always contact at any time and who understood my companies accounts status. They could always answer my queries and give me guidance and advice on any issues.
Since the takeover my accounts manager and tax manager have both left the company (my guess is they left because they were offered a reduction in salary) and they have been replaced with numpties who are clueless and who change from one week to the next.
They never answer their phones (probably lying on a beach somewhere) even the main phone numbers listed on their contact information on their website doesn't get an answer it just rings for a short while ten cuts off.
If you do get to talk to someone they are clueless, I know more about the way my limited company tax affairs should be run than they do.
As someone who has worked as a contract engineer for many years i can honestly say that before the takeover by Omnia Outsourcing this company was brilliant. They helped me set up my company in the first place and managed my tax affairs ever since. However, since the takeover they are worse than useless and i am in the process of shutting down my limited company and will be moving my business to a more professional outfit.
My advice is steer clear of this company if you want your tax affairs run by a professional organisation.

I’ve used Churchill Knight for my limited company for years, but my recent experience has been extremely poor.

My company had been inactive for years and I had taken steps to close it. When I discovered the company had not been struck off, I specifically asked Churchill Knight what I needed to do. I was advised in writing that because I had submitted a DS01 showing my intention to close the company, I could ignore statutory submission chasers.

I later received an HMRC penalty for a missing Company Tax Return and immediately asked Churchill Knight whether I was required to file it and whether they had done so on my behalf. I was then told in writing that the penalty had already been appealed and that I should receive confirmation it had been cancelled.

That confirmation never arrived. Instead, HMRC continued chasing me and the amount increased to £200.

I repeatedly contacted Churchill Knight over several months, raised a formal complaint and escalated it, but struggled to get a substantive response or evidence of the appeal I had been told had been submitted.

In the end, I contacted HMRC myself. In one phone call HMRC corrected the position, removed both penalties and updated the company’s Corporation Tax status.

What concerns me most is not simply that an error happened, but that I relied on professional advice, was repeatedly reassured the issue had been dealt with, and then had to resolve it myself after months of chasing.

Very disappointing service and complaint handling.

Been with this company since 2013. Currently wondering if they have ceased trading entirely. No reply to multiple emails to multiple addresses, multiple calls to multiple telephone extensions, multiple messages to LinkedIn and company message board. They appear to have dropped off the planet, which, considering their recent history and horrific current service is a slap in the face to its loyal customer base. Time to move on - oh I notice the monthly direct debit to them is going strong!

If you are thinking about an accountants, avoid like the plague, I have been with them since 2007 but over the last year their response time has been appalling. They failed to file my accounts on time, resulting in CT fines, since the 29/07/26 I have phoned everyday and emailed the Director Henrique Concalves everyday with no response. My portal is locked so i do not know what my financial position is? They advertise that they are a member of the FCSA THEY ARE NOT as their membership expired in June 2026. On Companies House even their Auditor has withdrawn their services due to the "availability of financial information"

A significant portion of my income — close to 50% — was deducted, which was far higher than I expected. While I understand that taxes and other costs apply in umbrella arrangements, the breakdown was not clearly explained at the outset.

HOA is terrible.. Just last year I went to the pool walked in saw a glass on the ground went to the front desk/“lifeguards” station and let them know and now they’re trying to charge me for the draining of the pool, etc… When you can clearly look at the cameras of me showing up looking for a table and then 15 seconds later coming back to tell them that there was glass on the floor.. Let’s not forget been here for years (not renting but a homeowner). Can’t have your door one shade to dark or light and can’t have your car sitting in your own driveway for too long.
Like I said I’m gonna leave these reviews on every app and website because I’m tired of being harassed for one and trying to do the right thing but two trying to help someone from getting cut..

So, so awful. Unable to even make a pension payment on time. Getting someone to pickup or answer the phone is impossible and getting an email response is nearly as challenging. Unbelievable that they are still in business or that they even have positive reviews. With them for nearly 6 months and nothing was done properly.

Don’t let this ‘SafeRec’ con Vince you that they check the accuracy of anything. Wrong payslips, deductions and an inability to make a pension payment (to the right amount or on time) are the hallmarks of CKU.

Note that my previous review is also negative. This review is based on my updated problems which haves occurred in the last two weeks.

Forced me over to omnia outsourcing with one weeks notice from churchill knight, cant get through on the phones, nobody responds to emails and weekly payments missing, seems the same for everyone else, terrible way to treat a longstanding user

If I could take stars with me, I would. Having been with them since 2019, on Jan 23rd 2026, I was informed, with no consultation or adequate explanation that I would be summarily moved to an Omnia Outsourcing umbrella provision. In FIVE WORKING DAYS. On enquiry, the new provision did not meet my needs for umbrella coverage.
As I have to reset everything on my clients' side of things to reflect a new umbrella entity, I ceased involvement with Omnia or Churchill.
This upheaval has left me unable to invoice for January work, and unable to work in February while paperwork processes through the replacement arrangements.
Churchill Knight's website is still active. Two words come to mind. JUST DON'T

Terrible experience. Trying to onboard and they repeatedly don’t answer the phone in any department. Agree with previous review that staff are friendly enough when you speak with them, but their processes are all over the place and they don’t respond quickly to emails. I started work for my client two weeks ago and I’m still not able to log any timesheets. Clearly the move to a new parent company has left them short staffed and is destroying any reputation they made have had in the past.

I had a good experience with Churchill Knight.

I used Churchill Knight Umbrella and discovered that they calculated my taxable income incorrectly when reporting to HMRC. As a result, I’ve been paying more tax than my actual take-home salary.

When I raised this by email, they dismissed it, saying I had “entered the 40% tax bracket.” This completely ignored the fact that UK income tax is structured — some income should be tax-free, then 20%, then 40%, with only the highest portion taxed at 45%. Instead, my entire income was taxed at an effective rate above 45%.

I also provided my P45 to them, which they assured me had been sent on to HMRC. When I later contacted HMRC directly, they confirmed they had not received it from Churchill Knight. HMRC also told me they had no idea how Churchill Knight had calculated my tax, but confirmed that it was wrong.

I sent multiple emails back and forth, but they didn’t properly investigate the issue or recognise the red flags. Only when I called them directly did they agree to look into it - I’m still waiting on a resolution.

On top of that, I explicitly opted out of the workplace pension in order to continue with my private pension, but they still enrolled me into their scheme against my instructions.

This has wasted me hours dealing with issues that were entirely caused by their mistakes. For a company that specialises in payroll and charges for this service, the lack of accuracy and attention is very concerning. I expected professional handling of something as important as tax, but instead I’ve had stress, overpayment, and poor communication.

Joined today, was a very pleasant and easy experience.

Great umbrella company. Excellent value for money and they do a lot for their (very reasonable) fee. They always pay on time, and the right amount, with a full and detailed payslip. They do much more than that, but even these "basics" are things other brollies struggle with. Highly recommend.

Simple and easy to deal with, and they always know the answer to every question. I have had the best customer experience with Churchill Knight and wouldn't go to anyone else. So easy to speak to a real human over the phone, and they always reply to emails promptly. My last phone call was with Regan Stocks who was all round great, friendly and helpful. I've also dealt with Hayley White many times over email and she's so patient and good at explaining things. Thank you to the whole team at Churchill Knight. Love you guys!
