I have been a customer of this store for years and even when Mrs Collingwood was still in charge. I have spent well over £20,000 on furniture, curtains and carpets so when we needed to replace our lounge suite, we naturally went there to buy it and we chose Parker Knoll as a British manufacturer of quality (so we thought). After 2.5 years, the front of the arms on my chair started to show signs of wear even though it has had quite light use and I am under 12 stone. I also protected it from UV so it appears that this is a manufacturing fault. They ignored my first 2 emails and then I complained to PK and they contacted CB who eventually got back to me. To cut to the point, they washed their hands of the issue and offers no suggestion as to how it could be remedied and Parker Knoll were not interested either so I could have taken action against CB using the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the 6 year rule but decided it was too much trouble and fixed the issue myself. I won't be buying from either of them again.

Bought couple of household items. Very happy with the quality, made to last. Good customer service with happy to help attitude. Overall : ideal customer experience.

Ordered a 3 seat sofa. Plenty of room in my sitting room for it to fit but delivery driver could not get it through the doorway. Collingwood Batchellor refusing to help and I now have to contact 3rd party and pay additional work to remove arms! This will completely ruin the £2k sofa. But Collingwood Batchellor refusing to refund as they say 'its useless for us now as we can't do anything with it and don't have the storage'. Strange, if only they had a facility to sell furniture....DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY

We had carpet fitted by Collingwood Batchellor and, as always, the service was exemplary. Ron’s advice and guidance throughout the purchase was really helpful and the fitters did an amazing job. We are delighted with the result. We have used Collingwood Batchellor on many occasions over the years. It’s a traditional family run department store and the quality, service and reliability they provide is becoming increasingly hard to find.

At the start of June I bought a bed from Collingwood Bachelor which is well-known in the area. It was 50% off and they forced me to pay for it to be fitted. The bed was wobbly and I called them back on the same day and a colleagues said they were having problems with the screws and it can't hold the bed together. They said they'd inform the office. I was waiting and waiting and they didn't look at the bed till a month later and said it couldn't be fixed. They refused to replace the bed because it was from the shop floor and wouldn’t do a refund either. They wouldn't refund to my card only credit note. I eventually and reluctantly accepted the credit note as my complaints via email did nothing. They didn't collect the bed till another 5 weeks from when they came to inspect the bed. Everything was so slow and not in the customers best interest. I was very stressed, why would I want to use the credit note in a rubbish quality store!

We brought 4 x Parker Knoll armchairs from the Horley branch and are absolutely discussed with the service we have received from Collingwood Batchellors. The back of one of the chairs was damaged and we told the delivery driver we would not accept it but he said he wasn't able to return the damaged chair, he'd take a photo and get the service department to contact us the next day (24th July), by 12 noon. We closely inspected the other 3 chairs and noticed a nasty tear on the arm of one of the other chairs. We immediately phoned the Horley branch and again were told the service department would contact us by the Friday (26th July). No phone call so we contacted the Horley branch again on Monday (29th July) and yet again were told we'd get a phone call or email by the end of the day Monday. Yet again NO phone call or email from the Horley branch. Having paid quite a few thousand pounds for the armchairs we are totally disgusted with the lack of communication from the Horley branch. We also paid for Staingard Fabric Protection for all 4 chairs amounting to a few hundred pounds which was not delivered with the chairs and when mentioned to the person we spoke to at the Horley branch we were told we can collect them ourselves from the store along with the labels the delivery drivers removed from the chairs (which are guarantees). Hopefully a manager of the Horley branch will contact us tomorrow Wednesday 31st July or we may need to take the matter further. We have got photographic and video evidence of the delivery of the chairs and the damage, along with a full report of all phone calls, dates, times etc.

I ordered and received 3 piece suite last year(2023)and armchair developed fault after several months.I phoned and spoke to Simran (customer services),she sorted it all out with the manufacturer and i received new armchair.Excellent service!!.

Due to circumstances it was desirable to bring forward the delivery date and Colliingwood Batchellor was most helpful in doing this for us. Their customer service is second to none and I would recommend the Horsham branch, which we use, every time.

We chose Collingwood Batchelor to supply and fit our bathroom flooring as we've used there floor fitter before with excellent results, And this time was certainly no exception.
From choosing, buying and fitting the flooring all went very smoothly and professionally. And we're delighted with the results.

Bought a double mattress, when delivered opened up and the smell is overwhelming! Contacted them to complain, their recommendation was to air it for 2-4weeks!’n

I would have given a minus rating if possible. I ordered a dining table from this company based on the information on their website. I was pestered for payment by text - even on a Sunday! When the dimensions of the table turned out to be wrongly stated I returned the item and was assured of a refund . After almost two weeks with no refund appearing I called the company to find the refund had not even been activated.Eventually the refund was made but even then the figure was wrong - they had shaved off 26p from the actual sum. I couldn't be bothered making further calls over this but I consider this company to be wholly incompetent.

Update: Collingwood have now stated they are doing nothing, and closing the case. I was asked to amend my comments, so I guess as I didn't that's why. I was told you weren't asked to take the chair into the shop, correct, but I was asked, did your husband stand on the chair, what! an office chair on wheels! I delivered the chair to the shop, so they could see the prefect condition of the chair, still with the labels attached, but the broken plywood base. A further email accused me of inappropriate use of the chair, all tactics and even a comment about the chair leaving the store with no faults! Their comments, replace, exchange, arn't they the same? I was told the chair was discontinued, but no, it's on their store website or I could have it repaired. I would not trust this chair again. The Gov site, say a faulty item can be dealt with for up to 6 yrs. I would not have the cheek, but two weeks over a Yr, for an office chair in a home environment, is another matter. On researching an office chair life expectancy, 6+ yrs.
I asked for a store credit, this has been denied and they have closed the case. The chair was full price £325/355, for a life span of 12 months, 2 wks. Glad I paid £195, a lot of money for an item not fit for purpose.

Good customer service in Haywards Heath (Joanne Bayon) and very nice, polite and helpful delivery duo!

Great service. Very helpful salesman. It was a 12 week wait but I was advised of this. We were written to when the item was ready for delivery and the delivery men rang when on their way. Delivery men were very polite and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Delivery was 3 weeks. Came on the day & time given to me via phone call, text & email. Next day delivery drivers phoned to say they'd be arriving within 30 mins, which they did. Very professional & friendly. Took away the huge old bed (£30 & will be recycled) & set up new bed. Very pleased with the customer experience. Good quality bed & great value. Will use this retailer again.
