I had a very disappointing experience…
I had a very disappointing experience with CFCS Floors for terrazzo restoration and repair.
We began discussing the terrazzo repair project around March 19, and the work started in early April. We paid an additional fee for tile demolition, even though their price was nearly double what my renovation contractor quoted. We agreed because CFCS emphasized the level of care they would take to preserve the terrazzo floors. They also shared photos of prior completed jobs showing a high-gloss finish, which set our expectations for the final result.
Unfortunately, our floors were left dull and did not have the gloss finish we expected or paid for. We were told the floors would shine after a few washes, but that never happened. We also paid extra for color matching in several areas. We did not argue or negotiate any of the fees because we expected a professional, satisfactory result.
There were also several chips and areas that needed correction. CFCS told us they would resolve these issues around late April. Today is June 24, and no one has returned, scheduled a date, or provided a clear plan to complete the work. I contacted Alejandro, one of the owners, several times, but my calls were largely ignored. John essentially told me they are a smaller company and would get to me when they had another job closer to Miami, with no specific date in mind.
We paid approximately $8,400 for this project and were left dissatisfied. We planned our renovation around the terrazzo restoration, and this experience left us wishing we had selected another company.
For anyone considering CFCS Floors, I strongly recommend asking them to complete a sample area before moving forward with the full job. We paid for a gloss finish, but the floors were left dull, as shown in the photos. CFCS stated that the floors were left shining when they finished on a Sunday evening. I reviewed the job the next morning at 8:00 a.m., and the work was not completed to our satisfaction.
After the job was finished, we met with two other terrazzo companies. Both indicated that the restoration looked more like an amateur or DIY-style job than a professional terrazzo restoration. For context, I manage hotels in Miami and have managed Art Deco hotel properties with terrazzo floors. Compared with high-traffic hotel terrazzo floors and residential restoration standards, this was one of the worst outcomes I have seen.
As of today, there has been no meaningful follow-up and no resolution. Based on my experience, CFCS Floors appeared more focused on moving on to new jobs than completing the work to a satisfactory standard for a paying customer.
