They gave me a vero on ebay claiming they have the word "meerkat" trademarked. If they are happy to lie about something stupid like that, they can't be trusted.

Tried comparing the market for health insurance, they don't mention HIF because they are not listed on their commercially agreed list. Basically, you're comparing their market of friends, not the whole market.

It’s easy to use, but the pricing is horrendous. I used compare the market for my small business liability insurance. I got the first invoices of what I actually paid for, a whopping 35% of my premiums went to compare the market as a finder fee and if I’d had just gone to the insurers website I would’ve saved all that money. Safe to say I’m on the same coverage at 35% off the price LOL.

Like being harrased and coerced? Then this is the company for you. OMG🤯 can't take no for an answer and kept trying to push the sale. NOT ON, NOT EVER!!

Why bother!
I went on to this site to get a car insurance comparison. The quote from Woolworths Everyday was $844.65. When I went to the link provided in the quote to finalise the transaction I answered the same basic questions again and the quote escalated to over $1,530.85 I rang to enquire why there was almost a $700 difference and was told quotes via Compare the Market were “indicative only”. What a joke in addition to being a complete waste of time.

Unrealistic and biased review of the insurance market. I input volumes of my personal information, only to be provided with a list of insurers totalling 6 companies. The policies of the companies that were presented were priced consistently higher than the real market value, which I subsequently reviewed after having a hunch that I was not getting a true cross-section of the industry.
I saved over $600 a year, on my personal car insurance, by NOT using Compare The Market

My partner was looking into health insurance for me on compare the market as it was my first time getting health insurance and I had no idea where to even start. Minutes later he got a phone call from Johnny at compare the market. Not only was he able to find exactly what I needed at a great price, he explained in detail about what was included, saved me a tone of time and confusion and was also able to help my partner save on his existing health insurance as well. The entire process was so easy and we are both really happy. Thanks Johnny you absolute legend for making the whole process simple with 10/10 customer service.

Want to be bothered every minute of the day? Then use this shitty service... They will call you (no joke) 10+ times in two days, despite being told to stop calling. To top it off, they don't even give you the best deal. Look elsewhere.

I was just trying to compare insurances, you of course have to give your email adress AND email to receive the results of your research.. I received 5 phone calls within 30mn right after asking for my results. It stopped as I reported them as spam, but do not use this service if you don't want to be harassed !

asked for Medical only travel insurance and their wonderful search engine came up with one candidate, completely useless

Used the website to compare electricity prices and the top result said it was 19% cheaper than the average. However as I scrolled down the list and looked more carefully realised that this plan was more expensive on both daily supply and time of use prices than all of the other 6 plans they showed. Not sure if there computer algorithm is stuffed or if they have some dodgy deal with energy australia but either way not good

This is a scam to plug Budget Direct. After some googling I found Budget Direct owns them. They also start ringing your phone even if you just want to browse. It is very annoying. They will show you the price for a new customer which is 15% off the real price. So the next year your insurance will go up 15%. Be very wary of this website as they are excluding most good insurance companies from there comparison. You are better off doing your own research with the reputable insurance companies.

Outstanding Service – Truly Impressed!
I had a fantastic experience with Compare the Market Insurance, thanks to Bryce and Leon. They went above and beyond in explaining every detail of the policy, including the excess, in a way that was clear and easy to understand. Their knowledge of the product was impressive and far superior to other major insurance providers , where you’re often left waiting on hold while they ask a supervisor basic questions.

Not enough options/comparisons - got a better deal myself (without their brokerage fees)

I'm not usually a person to write reviews but I've used this service 3 times this year and had mixed results. I firstly used it to compare home insurance and got a great results but then I started to get spam/scammer emails flooding my inbox which was odd as I hadn't had much activity online to warrant it.
I put that aside and thought it was a coincidence. I then used the service for car insurance with no success and again after my inbox was flooded with spam/scammer emails. I now knew that the website sells private information to sketchy places. I guess everything has to make money, but I'm shocked that David kosh a trust worthy public figure has put his name beside this business.
Anyway that brings us to two days ago when I compared life insurance (I know I should have learnt my lesson). I didn't even finish filling out the forms and I'm getting called. The scammed emails ampt up to pretending to be Australia Post and banks. I'm still get called 3 times a day.
Save yourself and learn from my mistakes.

I specifically asked for a health fund that covered my specific needs especially Optical, they told me BUPA would, so I left a health fund (HIF) which I had been happy with for years, but becoming a single parent needed something better priced. I went to claim and they do not. I was going to be 50% out of pocket for each individual on the policy. They admitted fault but that doesn't help I now have to find another health fund, and can't get our glasses yet. My biggest problem is I actually asked the question at least three times to verify what I wanted and what I was getting. So I was blatantly lied to. And now have just been told to go back to my old health care, which I cannot until I get my payment I made to Bupa back first

Although it is a brokerage company but they will not speak to you about their home loan offer until you have submitted all your financial and personal information and given your passport and DL for ID verification. It takes more than 2 hours to provide each and every detail of your personal information in their initial application which includes your employment details and your employer details, your current financial earning and each and every expense you incur, all details of your assets and liabilities. This is also understandable. But then they want you to upload all your payslips, bank statements and rental statements for last 6 months before their broker will speak to you the home loan rates they have for you. Very frustrating that they take all your details and take all the consents required by them and you become vulnerable.

As per ASIC website: Follow following principles to avoid this situation: 1. Choose a Reputable, Licensed Broker
✅ Verify their credentials – Ensure the broker is registered with ASIC and a member of an industry body like the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) or the Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA).

2. Understand Their Privacy Policy
📄 Ask for and read the broker's Privacy Policy before sharing personal details.

✋ Do not share excessive details upfront. Brokers need financial information to assess your loan eligibility, but you can ask what is necessary first before handing over everything.

4. Be Cautious About Digital Security
🔒 Use encrypted emails or a secure document-sharing platform instead of sending financial documents via unsecured email.
🛑 Never share sensitive details (like your TFN or bank login) over the phone or email.

Complain to the broker’s internal dispute resolution team (they must respond within 30 days).
Report to ASIC (ASIC website) if they breach financial regulations.

I was told by Compare the Market, when I sign up with AHM for the extras, I will get free dental cleaning with Pacific Smiles Dental. I am afraid, this is not so. I was almost $100.- out of pocket for a 10 minute clean. Not worth it. Walk away from them, don't get lied to, like I did. They are conning people with the help of Kochie. I already cancelled my extras with AHM.
